Wow! do you know if he's keeping the aircraft carrier or scrapping it to make the qe2?
-
Y'know there's a whole bunch of really cool MOCs they have in Denmark. And one of them even showed me a link to a minifig Aircraft Carrier that was.....mind blowingly huge! Although I think that MOC was made by a German not a Norwegian...anywho.... Unfortunately Caspar, the bank doesnt give me more than a week or two of vacation at a time, maybe you could just send me an exibit or two on a slow boat or a fast plane. :) You got 400kg of lego...at 18...I've got about that now and I'm 35. Impressive!

Yeah last time my boys and I watched Starwars III when Obi cuts off the 2nd set of hands off General Grievous, my youngest yells out " All hands on Deck!" I couldn't stop laughing. It was so true two of his hands were on the deck! literally. he'd make a great sailor.

Hi Caspar! Welcome welcome! Did you hear about us through Lars or through Bo? Love your huge castle! it must be nice to live so close to LEGOLAND. I live in Eastern Canada so the nearest LEGOLAND would be about 3000 km away :(
-
Hi Bo and welcome! Hope you didn't mind me showing off your creation. The scale is impressive and I love the "hanging" pirates right out of the scene from the first movie. How big is this going to get anyways?

Yeah, in real life a brick wall are held together with mortar, although mortar is usually white or greyish, after a while it turms darks grey or black.
-
I'd assume he was going for a brick 'n mortar look.

I'll get on the horn with my contact and see if can get him on over here.

Just a small update on the HMS Challenger. I grossly underestimated the sheer number of Lego string I would require for the rigging and stays. I ordered 200 of the 11 stud long strings that terminate in studs, but that was barely sufficent to do the main mast. So now I've got another 400 on order! Bowspirt has been redesigned and Forecastle completed. 24 Pounder Cannons for the Main Deck have been completed and installed. 9 pounders and carronades for the Spar and Poop Deck are 80% complete. Having some design problems with the Captain's cabin with the over all "look" I've rebuilt it twice already. Now for some acknowledgements.... and pics! Carronades: I originally had my own design for one but when Admiral Starwind started a topic on them and everone started posting thier designs...well I shamelessly looted thier ideas. So thanks to Admiral Starwind, Mr Tiber, and BaronSat for thier pics. And here's mine, I will probably change the back part to look more like BaronSat's once the parts come in. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/morsea10...on/p1030789.jpg Cannons: I designed my own 24 pounders and was quite pleased with them but really didn't want to use them as armament on the spar deck so when Norro posted Elroy Davis' howitzer I went "Oh Boy!" and then Tim Gould made a ship version and I started to drool! And I came up with this. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/morsea10...on/p1030790.jpg and heres the 24 pounder too http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/morsea10...on/p1030791.jpg and the ship as of last night. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/morsea10...-6/p1030792.jpg

Hi all! I was ordering some Lego from Madman's store on BL and I sent him a link to my Heavy Frigate project and he sent me a link to one of his fellow lego junkies who's a member of Byggepladen.dk- the only Danish LUG. Behold Port Royal from potc http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=203488 His name is Bo, and lives in Jutland in Denmark. He is a very active member of Byggepladen. Aaron

Perhaps its a slander against the quality of the male crewmembers of this fine ship.

Show of hands anyone out there interested in doing something like this? I've got enough lego and plates to do a 5x5 by myself but its more fun to do it with friends.
-
Yeah we could do something similar with with a huge honking island. whatcha think? Somebody could work out the total size of the island say 8 by 8 making a total of 64 parts (or 64 participants) to this island and anyone could do a section as long as they stuck to the parameters extablished for each square.

Ah yes white gloves, that makes sense!
-
I notice that even that kit doesn't come with brown hands.
-
Sorry! Lego I do well, camera not so much.

I think he blends in rather well with the boys...quite a rum lot eh? http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/morsea10/crew/p1030782.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/morsea10/crew/p1030783.jpg

Brown hands are hard to come by, I've only got 3 pairs of them, i do have some of those NBA arms but I find them kinda weird. Out of a crew of 80ish I've only got two browns and the rest are yellow. Where's the other brown set of hands you ask? Fighting the Sith in a galaxy far far away.
-
Actually they're not too bad. The fits good and it takes up lots of room.
-
Did we scare Norrington away? or maybe he's hibernating?
-
I believe thats LDraw the boys are using.

how about replacing the black castle walls with more grey rock cragginess like on th inside of the ravine. Oh yeah and I think it looks MARVELOUS! Wouldn't it be cool if everyone built a 32x32 part of an island and put it all together at some convention just like that Moon Base project thats been floating about with those Lego Spacers....not that I've ever looked at any other type of Lego than piratey stuff.
