  1. Thats kinda the effect I was going for, more of a covering for the Mk III than a Brodie Mk II. Unfortunately the baking process kinda negates the possibility of adding foliage precook, but post-cook....hmmmmm...(I think I have a new project for tonite)
  2. Ha! I see the LITTLE power they've given to you has gone right to your head...I looked over at my PIC and saw the little quote there. (I assume you're the guilty party) My wife now thinks I'm completely stupid I literally fell off my chair I was laughing so hard "I was the master" LOVE IT! LOL LMAO (nearly for real...I coulda sued ya!)
  3. Always a good idea to either take pictures or write down notes.
  4. Wow Phred! Coming along quite nicely since last time I checked in....might have to resurrect my poor wrecked HMS Challenger. Although I`m definitely feeling a little inferior now. When I left I was the master...now you are the Commander (little bit of StarWars and Nautical humor mixed together there) FANTASTIC JOB my friend!
  5. Saw those prototypes from BrickArms for the Brodie Helmets, I could'nt wait so I sculpey-ed my own
  6. Working on a StuG IV now too
  7. Looks good. So its going to be stationary? Not going to make anything to move it around are you?
  8. I had the same nightmare! Along with losing LEGO down the drain. I have two boys 7 and 9, they both love LEGO and I've had to learn to share. We have a fairly large collection of LEGO that takes up a goodly portion of our double garage with three large tables and multiple bins some sorted by color and some yet to be sorted, and we've come up with a pretty good system for making sure I don't assimilate their creations into general population, and making sure they don't get into my projects. To make things even more interesting my wife runs a daycare and afterschool minding program, so from time to time there may be one to four children roam through our LEGO kingdom. Rule #1: Don't touch daddy's table (One of the four table is exculsively mine). Rule#2 Everybody gets a bin for their own projects (Although daddy currently has 4 tupperware bins on the go for different projects, and there are at least 6 bins for my kids and their friends and the kids my wife looks after) Rule#3 (For the outsiders) NOBODY puts lego in their pockets or takes LEGO home Rule#4 If daddy sees a piece in your bin he needs, he can't take it w/o permission (unless that piece was taken from his bin) Rule#5 Sorted by color bins are off limits unless permission is asked. Rule#6 Unsorted bins are open territory.
  9. Obviously this describes how a mini-fig is born in captivity at the Lego Manufacturing Plants. When we receive them they've been filleted, drawn and quartered, had little happy faces draw on them, put in little plastic baggies then placed in a cardboard box. Oh the Humanity!!! I'm sure Lego Company's position on this is that they're just plastic and don't have feelings like real people. I think the humane thing to do is for everyone to send their minifigs to my newly established MiniFig Preservation Park, where they will be well looked after and cared for. ;-)
  10. Best deal I ever found in store was the Defense Archer Kit #4801 about 4 years ago. I was walking though a Sears, checking out the toys section for Lego deals, and was on the way out after being disappointed, when I nearly ran into a aisle bin FULL of these, marked at 25 cents canadian! I promptly picked up the ENTIRE bin and headed for the nearest cashier. 20 dollars and 70 minifigs later...I've got me an instant Knights Army. BEST DEAL EVER!
  11. I knew the Lego Enforcers would catch up to me sooner or later... good thing Ive got a fairly decent sized army to protect my person ;-)
  12. Yeah, I have friends in the Canadian Armed Forces over in Afghanistan, it would be quite upsetting for me to have them come home and sprinkle burnt mini-fig parts in front of me, and ask me if I can identify the remains! I hate it when "Bricks go Bad"
  13. It got taken out by a Soviet Anti-tank squad (pics forthcoming) in the meantime here's a closeup of the camo StuG EDIT CGH: please resize the picture to a maximum of 800 x 600, a tutoria on how to do so can be found here. Thanks!
  14. Y'kno, my kids asked me the other day where mini-figs came from, I told him they came from a factory....I guess I was wrong.
  15. I know with the King Tiger they had to remove the road tracks and put on special tracks in order that a passing train on the next train track over wouldn't scrape the passing train...way too wide! Also here's a new pic of my StuGs with some camo and some infantry hitching a ride
  16. Yeah, I got all excited when I saw that piece thinking that it was like a flatter version of this piece
  17. Really think it's too wide? I started out at 3wide for each track and 5 for the main body, but the body looked to small compared to the tracks. Even after the tracks went under the scalpel, it still looked not quite wide enough. Here's a pic of a real stug for comparison. It looks like mud but its actually cement that's drained away from a new construction mixed into a dried river bed, meaning it looks like mud but its hard as a rock, so I get a nice pic and get to keep the lego (and my shoes) clean.
  18. I took your advice and deeplinked the images. and here's a pic of the two earlier StuG III models in convoy with some other Indiana Jones German vehicles.
  19. With a utility knife ;-) Actually its the first time I've ever modified lego before. My youngest boy actually asked me if I was ok after I had completed the deed. In fact I felt as if I had broken the law or something. I waited 20 minutes but the Lego Commandos never came to assassinate me. It was purely a case of "these tracks were too small and these tracks were too big, but this knife is just the right size!"
  20. Ah excellent! thanks for that, was kinda hoping it was hollow on the inside. meh. Started a topic on my version 2.0 of my StuG. Funny that link didn't work for the convoy... I already had a Topic in the Licensed Forum since it was originally made for my boys when they play Indiana Jones (note these 2 Stugs are the first attempt version ones) see if this works http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=20930 or this http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=339832
  21. For your viewing pleasure http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/75117 ***Modified as per Captain Green Hairs suggestion*****
  22. This piece. BTW check out my Stug convoy http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/70985
  23. What are those arc type pieces on the tank commanders hatch? I've been fussing over my StuG III trying to get the hatch right. BTW looks VERY nice.
  24. Very nice. I like the use of Mongol hats for the minifigs. 2 thumbs up!
  25. yeah we were saying that the red ones were covered in mud or rusty
