Actually you can. a standard 2x2 will fit prefectly over a duplo hole and a standard 2x4 will fit over two duplo holes.

I asked:Any word on whether there will ever be another Pirate line of products? They responded: Dear Mr Morse Thank you for your email from 10/06/06 and for your interest in our LEGO
-
Actually most really good Soldiers/Sailors from the Colonial era would be considered Pirates by thier enemies. Look at Sir Francis Drake who was considered a hero to the English and a pirate by the Spanish, sometimes its just your point of view.

Just got a response back from Lego. It was nice to get such a quick response but the general idea in the email was. "Nothing coming up but we've got other products in our lineup which may interest you instead" Which is kinda true for our household since my kids love StarWars lego too, but doesnt help me with my need for a "colonial nautical lego fix" So I get teased with 4+ and duplo kits AARRGGHHH! :(

Hi there Norrington! Welcome! Welcome! Loved you in the movies! So how'd you find us?
-
perfect! thanks! my opinion has now been voiced!
-
Not to me! Sorry if its an old subject but holy moley that's pretty....ichy. Lego went from 5+ to 2years olds, someone need to tell them they're going the wrong way!

http://www.lego.com/eng/preschool/products...tes&prodID=7880 Uhmmm...when everyone sends letters to Lego for new pirate lego, are we not being specific enough about the age of the person playing with it?
-
Actually I meant the MOC cannon :)
-
I shouldve been more specific. I meant in real life its called a gun carriage, in Lego speak its probably called a "Gun holdy thingy" or a "boom stick holder" btw how is the boom stick attached to the boom stick holder?
-
I believe its called a carriage or gun carriage. and the part number for the round technic pin connector on bricklink is 75535
-
I used to post over at LUGNET with little response, I lurked over here to see if people actually got constructive feedback on thier MOC's and low and behold there's a whole boatload (pardon the pun) of intelligent, creative, and ACTIVE posters, hence I put away my cloak of invisibility and steped into the light.
-
welcome mdoyle! I lurked myself for quite awhile before signing up.
-
Holy Moley! Thats a heck of a MOC! I had an inkling to tackle a to minifig scale Black Pearl and Flying Dutchman with a Kraken to boot, thats certainly abit of a boost to that project idea!
-
I always called the guy with the puffy pirate shirt "Seinfeld" and the bad lookin mudder with the tatoo, I always called him "Sir"
-
Unless you did these big vigs as cross sections of the entire ship instead of port or starboard sections
-
Very Impressive! Loved your carronade in last post. Love the detail I'm definately borrowing some of this. I use the same sort of crew as you do. Blue soldier officers for British navy officers, Blue Jacketed with brown shirt and buttons for Petty Officers, and the blue jacket and striped shirt for regular crew. Although only my Captain has yellow epaulettes, the other officers have blue. Didn't see any royal marines in your "Big Vig" maybe they're ashore causing trouble.
-
Sorry, it's me. Eric Druon / BaronSat Well nuts...now I gotta go and steal your idea. I'm sorry but that carronade is marvelous. Next time you're to Canada the grogs on me. Sorry most the wenches I know are married.

No. Why is he poor? He's obviously escaped imprisioned he should be very happy. Since Evil Willy is one the of people you like to chatise he can decide your fate! And he's a moderator too. :-D Uhoh! Perhaps if my 3rd project is a french man of war, perhaps I can woo him from hoisting me from a petard.
-
lets see some headrails! I've got my ship nearly complete but am still lacking those.
-
Poor David. he's been neked for years and years maybe he does need pants....and to be painted with the new skin tone as well! But seriously if they discontinue the old yellow and start using the new skin tone for all lego lines there's gonna be an awful lot of orientals in my lego armies. I've got like 1200 minifigs and only a handful are of the new variety. Aaron PS For anyone offended by my above comments on color of skin please forgive me, I'm English Canadian we only pick on the French Canadians...and for any one who's French or French Canadian, my wife is French Canadian which makes my children half french and provides me with partial immunity and if you've ever heard the french around here it would make you laugh. Example:" Oui je messais le car dans la garage et je go for un walk avec mon dog." Wait...yep...I rambling...sorry
-
Imagine the poor fella that will have to change over the characters skin tone from yellow to the new more realistic skin tone...unless they all have yellow fever!
-
maybe he enjoys getting his keel hauled...maybe we should flog him...although there are those who enjoy that too.

Here's the website for the san diego museum new home of the HMS Surprise http://www.sdmaritime.com/contentpage.asp?ContentID=152 also home page for master and commander http://www.masterandcommanderthefarsideoft...site_flash.html

No problem. In one of the featurettes it has a great shot of the surprise and the archeron nose to nose and you really get a good sense of the size difference between the two.
