  1. The second picture looks a lot like the barrel of a gun, which makes the ship seem really aggressive. The asymmetry of the wing and cockpit is really cool!
  2. . Condorman
  3. Sweet little siege machines! I remember once I built one once that had axes that chopped up and down as it rolled, but it was clunky and nowhere near as cool or compact as yours. That's pretty cool that yours is a 3-in-1 as well. I also liked the story
  4. Marvel's Agents of F.L.Y.: Age of the Dark Winter Soldier, Vol. 2
  5. I have no prior knowledge of this place, but judging by the side-by-side shots it looks like you have completely nailed it. It looks fantastic!
  6. pathetically
  7. (applause) I really like the variety in the minifigs present at the ceremony, and the clean look of the chamber. The dialogue between Raven and...everybody else is great!
  8. See, and I am of an opposite mindset; I would rather have a majority of the characters come out in the CMF series, so that I can pick and choose which ones to pick up, and at reasonable prices. As this set will likely be too cost-prohibitive for me to ever pick up, the figs included with it will probably never be mine either, and will likely command too high a price in the aftermarket to be worth it to me. Although for now, the minifigs we know are included aren't really worrying me yet. That being said, I really hope this set won't include Goofy as an exclusive.
  9. Sorry, meant Utah, so it's not actually a "the" I'm at the narth end uh the valley
  10. You're in UT, right? What Target did you hit? My Target today didn't have the Disney CMFs, even when I asked. The clerk said (genuinely) that she hadn't even heard of them, but that they did still have some S1s4 (edit: S13s, not Monsters) up by the registers.
  11. Went back to my Target today hoping to score some Disney figs in advance of the street date, but alas they didn't have them yet. However, with the reduced price I couldn't help but pick up a few more S15 that I had skipped earlier--got a Faun, Farmer, and Wrestling Champ. Thought of getting more (another one or two Frightening Knights or Ballerinas, perhaps), but they also had Mixels for $1 off, so I grabbed some of those instead. Have to say, this series has been the best so far. I only started into CMFs at about series 11 (I think?), but never before have I felt an urge to have almost every one if a series. Not for a complete collection or anything (almost everything I get ends up parted out, including CMFs), but because each fig is so great on its own, with fantastic parts as well. (And luckily, my feeling skills so far are still at 100%! )

  14. I also saw this on TBB, but didn't like it. Couldn't put my finger on why not, but this quote got my mind on track: This. For nearly two years I lived in or near slums and shanties and walked through them just about every day. The look, the sound, the feel, the smell: this evokes none of that. Not that I don't appreciate the builder's effort, but to me this art is unsuccessful because it doesn't cause me to really come back to it on any level--not as a representation of its subject matter, not due to any inherent "artliness", and not as a particularly skillful Lego build. That being said, I think the conceptual contrast of using an expensive, precisely manufactured first-world toy to represent an impoverished reality is clever; I just feel like this build doesn't really deliver much on that concept.
  15. 40 to Big Sal, please!
  16. The whole build is quite good; my favorite part is the planet looming in front of the ship and the lighting.
  17. That truck looks like a beast! Definitely heavy-duty, great job!
  18. Great build and fun story! (MANTIS will be sending you a bill for services rendered)
  19. Well that was...different totally not what I expected, but at the same time very much a Pombe build!
  20. I really like it as a walker, it probably turned out better this way. Great story, I want to know (and see) more!
  21. I like how the ship combines sleek and greebly, and the shape of the ship around the thrusters.
  22. Love the lab/refinery and the lighting effects. And as always, it's fun to read.
