Best current/recent sets to loot for sci-fi MOCs
rodiziorobs replied to murphy_slaw's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I have seen some TRUs that are still clearing out their Galaxy Squad stock, although I imagine that is probably a rare case as it's been a couple weeks I have been eyeing Master Wu's dragon for some time, but have yet to spring for it. If it went on clearance soon that would definitely push me to do it. -
Help with identifying parts/sets!
rodiziorobs replied to WhiteFang's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I have seen some good MOCs that make pretty creative use of them though, like this one on AG. For their intended use, they are shoehorned into waaay too many sets, but they work well to connect pins to studs to Technic pieces. -
Perfect! It seems like I can never get around to all the building I would like because I have too big of a sorting backlog. You can come do my sorting for me! Mine I guess would be that sometimes I still find myself using my teeth to separate bricks

"LEGO Ruins Creativity"... Again

<insert that tiresome argument> -
I'm getting a distinct RollerCoaster Tycoon vibe from this, which is a nice thing.

What was the last movie you watched?
rodiziorobs replied to EbonHawk's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Civil War, just a few hours ago. -
Saw it this afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was glad to see that the hero-beating-up-hero action wasn't just a gimmick, but really well grounded in the story and characters, unlike a lot of the justification for the action in AoU. I thought CW was a little bit better than Winter Soldier. The CA solo films are still by far the most consistent performers out of the MCU.

I love the beefy look this has, like it could take some hard hits but keep dishing it out in a fight. The color scheme is perfect, too.

The black clips in the first two pics are magnet holders from the M-Tron/Blacktron days (they were in a number of sets). Looks like the last black tube is a standard Technic pin to pin connector. -
120 credits to Big Sal, please!

I can't imagine the frustration with all those 4L bars, let alone wrapping the string around through it.
-
The setup is really good, and I also have to comment on the imaginative flora
-
As always, Sal, your entries are must-see, even if not for the quality build then for the hilarious stories!

Nice biodomes, and the consistency among the buildings ties it all together.

There are some wonderful techniques here, I am especially liking the rotunda and colonnade section.

I love how you micro-ified your other build for the Cat B, the whole thing looks great.
