Heroica RPG - Quest #65: Breaking Down the Door
The Legonater replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in The Heroica Archive
I give two scales each to Cronk, Xander and Nerwen Can we wake up Ecatsue? -
Pyrovisionary has given me a slight distaste for dual-strike weapons.

For the record, I - as a Star Trek fan - love what we did with the new movies. It was genius. He preserved the original timeline. People don't get that. These movies don't overwrite or change anything, they take place in a parallel universe. Parallel being a more accurate word than alternate in this case, as events do certain run similar.

Dyric's mouth works in exasperation, trying to find a response to Nerwen's words. In the end it closes back into a scowl as he turns back to attack Cavern Dragonling from the back row with Requiem. Battle Order: Xander Cronk Nerwen Dyric -

Dyric bristled defensively at Nerwen's comment, making no response but a slight glare. -

Agreed, Cronk. Nerwen, are you alright? I attack the Marsh Dragonling from the back row with Requiem. Same battle order. So, I've gotten access to a laptop with wifi, so I should be a little more active until I head on the road back. Don't hold me to that, and I still give CM my proxy actions/BL if I'm not available for some reason. -
Sandy, great job with spliting the discussion and rules topics! It's a sort of thing I've thought about in passing, and it's cool to see in realization. Also, we passed Page 1138 without any Star Wars references? Doc, Flipz, I'm shocked!

Dyric cocked an eyebrow at Nerwen's antics, not sure how to comment. Not much to add here. I'm still kind of in-and-out, but you've been doing a great job so far! Sorry again for being away so much. -
I saw that a few weeks ago, and brainstormed the possible characters. This is what I came up with:

Alright, we're heading out now. Again, I'll try to check in when I can, but in the event that I can't, party decisions are left to Cronk (CorneliusMurdock). Sorry again for any inconvenience. -

...I will differ to your combined wisdom and judgement, but I still feel the panic below will potentially lead to a danger of its own. We continue to watch Ecatsue. -
Hey, Dyric was careful not to mention what happened to Krook. Greely went crazy entirely on his own accord. It's not like it was his idea anyways. Though it doesn't help that Dyric has had a perfectly fine experience with dragons and seems to inherently trust people...

Greely isn't going to have them evacuated, he'll have them barricaded inside. He told me so himself. Even if Ecatsue here brought any danger to us - which I'm still not confident he does - letting Greely create a mad chaos isn't going to help anyone. While I do believe Ecatsue needs to be monitored, I think this is also important. If no one wishes to come, that is fine by me. If Ecatsue does become dangerous, he will easily be the larger threat. -

The cries of the innocents below would beg to differ, Cronk. -
I like it. It definitely makes sense in a realistic element, as people would likely have to pay a good chunk of money to totally change occupation like that (especially if going into an Ether or Knight class or something), and it does sort of limit the amount of changing.

We have a situation. I told Greely about what was going on, and he went into a panic. I told him to stay calm and try to resolve it peacefully, but he wouldn't listen. He's gone off to tell everywhere in the inn. He's going to create chaos. I tried to get Jacob and Christen to help deal with it, but they've gone. I turn to Ecatsue. We need to finish this as soon as possible and go. I'm going to try and stop Greely. Anyone who wants to help can come, but I think at least one person should remain here. How I wish Hoke were here right now... -

Dyric's frustration builds. He goes into the dumbwaiter and heads back to the top. -

You fight a goddess one day, and the next you're chasing a gnome. Welcome to Heroica, Dyric... I pursue Greely. -

Mr Greely! I say in my most commanding voice possible. If you wish to create a mad chaos, then by all means go ahead. If you want to contain this situation then stop where you are and help. -

I'm afraid that's impossible, sir. The... dragon assures he will not damage the inn. He promises to pay the rent, and he promises that he will leave as soon as the ritual is complete and the rent payed. The other tenants will not find out. Give him a chance, Mr. Greely. He deserves that much. -

We've reached an... interesting situation with the man in the penthouse. The man is not exactly a man. He is a dragon, cursed and transformed into a man by some witch. He is fully willing to pay for his rent, but first he has begun a ritual which will turn him back into a dragon. He does not know how long the ritual will take. It could be hours, it could be days. Like I said, he is fully willing to pay once the ritual is complete. I suggest we give his time, he seems to be trustworthy. However, I leave the decision to you. -

Cronk, handle this to the best of your abilities. I'll talk to Greely. I run down to Mr. Greely. -
I too had noticed the connection, and had even looked up the name to see if it was a subtle reference to anything. I know Dawn Treader was listed, and I know I've read the book, but it still slipped by me.

I've always thought Cronk as intelligent, if anything I'd say he's naïve. Even that doesn't seem quiete appropriate, though. Also, we'll played, WB! I noticed pretty early on Ecatsue had the Jekyll and Hyde head, but at first I just assumed he had been transfigured by the witch. I definitely didn't see this coming!
