  1. It's a good philosophy. It's one that took me a little while to learn, but a good one nonetheless. So tell me about yourself, Em. You seem an interesting fellow.
  2. Duplovia. The Walled City. The City of Seven Hills. 'Used to be in the royal guard. I assure there's a long and tragic story behind that and how I got here, but it grows tiring in the telling. Besides, if you really want to know, I'm sure if you ask around, someone will be able to tell you. It's largely in the past, but... I'll never forget the beauty of the place. I heard there was a quest that went there a short while back, perhaps you went?
  3. Hard to tell. I'd say it's been a year or so since I got here from the Homeland, but the Hall seems to have a strange effect on time. Mind you, I once got in a scuffle with the floorboards, so I guess this place is anything but normal. Still, it's home now as much as anything.
  4. 78, huh? It looks to be interesting. Not sure I'll go on it, but interesting nonetheless. So how long you been here, Em?
  5. Good game, Haldor. It appears I fail at cards as well as science. Perhaps next time. For now, duty appears to always be calling. I walk over to the quest board, and examine the new quests. I look over, and see a ranger clad in green I have not met before doing same. Hello there. I stick out my hand. 'Name's Dyric, Assassin of the Light. Which one you going on?
  6. I don't know about Calamari, but there's probably some Teuthisal laying around we could cook up.
  7. To be perfectly honest I have a tendency to monologue in real life. That said, when Dyric's speeches aren't quoting Old Spice, I'd like to think they're generally on topic and to the point, the issue is mainly that there are plenty of points to make, and thus a reassuring couple sentences becomes a paragraph. If it's honestly that annoying, I could try to shorten them, but personally I feel that would lose a lot of valuable information.
  8. The issue here is it's all relative. Some people are naturally better deductive thinkers, or have better memories. Some people are naturally good with number and other statistics. Some people aren't. Arthur could easily described as the former, and Docken the second. Maybe they have an eidetic memory. It would make sense in a group this large that someone has it. If anything, that could be considered an RPing decision in itself.
  9. It still seems absurd. It's been established the healing factor is the only thing keeping him from bleeding to death whenever he uses the claws. I don't see why that should change now.
  10. I gathered that much, and that in itself is sort of annoying, though it sounds like something that might be in the comics. The part that bothers me the most is that he still uses the claws without the healing factor. At least, the trailer definitely makes it look that way. How on earth does he use the claws without bleeding to death if he doesn't have the healing factor!?
  11. I just can't get over the fact they take away his healing factor, yet he still uses the claws. It makes no sense. I won't be seeing it in theaters, if ever. The only thing that seems interesting to me about the movie is the Silver Samurai.
  12. He's the son of Thranduil. He'd be around. Of all the changes Jackson has made, this is the one that makes the most sense.
  13. The key issue with IM2 was that there was just too much going on. They tried to establish SHIELD, Black Widow, Nick Fury, War Machine, develop Tony Stark, do the Demon in a Bottle Plotline, show Hammer, show Whiplash/Crimson Dynamo, introduce the new element, etc, etc all in one movie. It was too much. I'll never understand the IM3 hate. The only things that bothered me were that the Mandarin never used the magic rings, what they did with Extremis, and the lack of classic AIM hazmats was a little disappointing. Captain America I'll agree on, though I don't get why people find Thor so bland. It's one of the funniest of the MCU movies, and has a lot going on. As for lack of characterization, Thor makes a total 180 from boisterous bruiser to a more humble leader, while as Loki becomes near-insane at the revelation of his lineage. That's a lot of characterization. Whedon is great. I just finished watching Firefly, and loved it. I'm glad Whedon is behind the helm of Agent of SHIELD, and it gives me a lot of hope for the show. I'm really not sure what to think of Batman vs. Superman. I know a lot of people have been asking for it, but I found Man of Steel fairly mediocre, and I feel it's far too soon for a Batman reboot.
  14. I think are far more apt song for the Hard Rock Anthem would be We Will Rock You, but maybe that's just me. Actually, according to Williams, the words were chosen mainly for their sounds than meaning. The original lyrics are translated from the poem "Battle of the Trees". As much as I love Duel of the Fates and Williams' work in general, I agree that Howard Shore does a brilliant job using real Sindarin and Kazdul lyrics for the music - though of course, Lucas never wrote entire languages for Star Wars. But this is me getting way too in depth now.
  15. I was just thinking of suggesting Duel of the Fates
  16. Any Les Mis reference is a good reference. I'm trying to figure out how to work Bohemium Rhapsody into that list, but nothing's coming to me.
  17. I may be wrong, because I don't follow the comics that closely (most of my knowledge comes from M:AA and my tendency to deeply research whatever I get into) but aren't the comics and the movies mutually exclusive? It's not like Star Wars, where any change in the movies directly affects the books, right?
  18. It's probably not much better than mine. I make an unhealthy amount of references.
  19. Should've seen that coming.
  20. Personally, the expert classes just don't appeal to me. I like the Assassin's mix of hold earning and the back row, and at the moment I'd prefer to stick that way. Conveniently, Dyric would probably prefer neutrality above allying himself with any particular house. That said, if we were to go Expert, I think we'd probably choose Cannoneer. I can't see any other class making sense for Dyric.
  21. If something as large a threat as Ultron attacked, Tony Stark would not be one to sit back and let others do the work. He's come to the point where he knows his place, and that he can and is obligated to help out. As for Hank Pym, Joss Whedon has said things to throw fans for a loop before, and I wouldn't be surprised is he's done it again.
  22. Tony Stark is Iron Man. I don't know how much clearer I can make that. The whole point of Iron Man 3 was to show that even without the armour, Tony Stark is Iron Man. The arc reactor was removed? He's has it removed for years in the comics and has never stopped being Iron Man. As soon as there's a global threat and Stark is needed, he can easily whip up a suit within the next 24 hours or less.
  23. I doubt that. For one, as Tanma said, it can't all be about Stark, especially with RDJ's licence coming to a close soon. Two, Ant-Man is vital to the Ultron arc. MARVEL has shown they are willing to combine and alter arcs, but removing Ant-Man from the Ultron arc would be like having Red Skull without Captain America. It doesn't make sense.
  24. As for the Imperials surviving, I'd say it's fairly certain they do, especially if Abrams follows the EU. Even before I started reading the EU, I never understood the thought of one loss defeating the whole Empire, no matter how great a loss. The question of if they're bad guys or not is more ambiguous, however. As for a Death Star III, I hope not. Abrams and co. probably know better then to bring back an almost cliche-plotline that's been done twice in the franchise now.
  25. I recall seeing an interview with Joss Whedon where he said he wanted to 'leave the best for last', and that he'd rather amp up to Thanos. It makes sense. I'm just wondering if we'll ever see Galactus in the MCU, and if so, how they'll pull it off.
