Heroica RPG - Quest #89: Reclaiming Glory
The Legonater replied to CMP's topic in The Heroica Archive
Well I doubt any family visit would be very pleasant anyways. That's unfortunate, but not surprising. Besides, I wouldn't have become an assassin if I was afraid of getting my hands dirty, would I? -
Heroica RPG - Quest #89: Reclaiming Glory
The Legonater replied to CMP's topic in The Heroica Archive
I, sir, am Dyric Rone, Assassin of the Light. Pleased to make your acquaintance. I actually grew up in the High Kingdoms, it'll be interesting to be in the area again. -
Greetings, Johan. I'm Dyric Rone, Assassin of the - Dyric's name is echoed by the Orc by the quest board. Blast it. I'm afraid we'll have to speak later.
-
I have spoken to Nerwen. She is indeed a fount of knowledge. If I can't convince you to come with me, than I suppose this is where we part ways for the moment; the ships set sail in a day or so. I wish you luck on your ventures brother. Hopefully you'll one day finally discover just what you are. I firmly grasp Arthur's arm in farewell, then return to the Hall.
-
Come with me to Baltarok, brother. Help me do the world some good. Three quests. All going one place. You know the type. I was not there for you at Dastan. Come with me to Baltarok. Fight with me.
-
Good news? Well I don't suppose I've told you about Claire yet. She's a nice young woman down at the Waltzing Dragon. You should meet her someday. However, not all news lately is good. Have you heard of what's happening at Baltarok?
-
Dyric stops in his tracks when he realizes where Arthur had lead him. Had it really almost been a year? Time flies too fast. Noticing Arthur was busy at the moment, Dyric moved to Hans grave, where he knelt respectively. I'm so sorry. None... none of this should have happened. This whole mess was all our fault. Me, Arthur, Atramor... the whole group in a way. Too many lives lost that could have been saved. And... I know it's over. I'm thankful for that everyday. But that doesn't repay anything. That doesn't make it right. I think maybe that more than ever is why I need to go to Baltarok. I wasn't with you guys in Dastan, I didn't fight by your side. I stayed behind. Not this time. Not anymore. I know what it's like to be in command now... and there's not going to be any pointless losses. Not if I can help it. I stand, tears welling in my eyes. You know I never did apologize. Back when I first met you I was such a loser. To you, to everyone. I was self-righteous and a coward. Well here I am, apologizing. Because that's not who I am anymore. I'm the Assassin of the Light. I'm going to make this right, even if I have to spark the fire in Baltarok to do it. I'm going to make this right, Hans. This is not happening again on my watch. Never again. I plant my longsword in the ground beside his grave. Leaving it there, I turn back to Arthur. What is going on, here, brother?
-
Well, I know Whedon was pretty upset about the lack of Hawkeye in Avengers 1, and is making a note to involve him more in the 2nd one. Other than that, I don't know.
-
Dyric watches curiously as Arthur enters the hall, and leaves soon after. Blast it, Brother, what now? Noticing Thothwick asleep beside him, Dyric leaves him behind and runs down the stairs after Arthur.
-
Blast it Flipz. In and out of the Hall before I can respond.
-
Is it a bad sign that I read that in Hayden Christenson's voice?
-
Dyric was still staring shocked at Jess' sudden appearance when Haldor walked. As much he'd like to talk to either one, he knew not to get involved. He turned back to Thothwick, silent at the table. Is it really just a few days until Baltarok? I could have sworn I came up to talk to you a few hours ago as it was going up. This Hall is weird.
-
What- no, over there. Talking to Alexis. I swear that's Jess, but no one's seen her for years.

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors
The Legonater replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
So that Gunship looks about as ugly as the reference. I have enough Shock Troopers from the old battle packs, this is a pass. I love the new Palpatine, though. Very reminiscent of the version from the first LEGO game. 8 years and they finally release one. Not sure if I've commented on the other sets this wave yet (I seem to be coming to this section of the forum less and less...) but it's a pretty weak wave. Most of these sets look more like Prelims than anything else - and here I thought LEGO's quality had been steadily improving. On the bright side, more money to pump into LotR and Hobbit sets. -
If it's made up of Donny clones, I think it's more of a Fauxgang.
-
Still sitting with Thothwick, I look across the hall at a figure entering the Hall. Is... Thothwick, is that who I think it is?
-
I'm not at all surprised. I've been expecting this since LEGO LotR's release. Not sure if I'll get it or not, it may be interesting.

Lego Marvel Superheroes Game Announced
The Legonater replied to MattZitron's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
Until you beat the game, you have to pick characters from the SHIELD stations. After you do that, you should be able to freely pick characters until you enter another level, after which you'll have to repeat the process. -
Dyric hasn't done a whole lot that he'd regret, except for perhaps his attitude to his quest mates near the beginning of Quest 19. His largest regret at the moment is definitely making an enemy of a fellow Hero, though. That said, I can't to see his experience as a leader progress, as he develops more chains of commanding.
-
Dyric merely nods sits in a tense silence with the others for several moments. Eventually, he speaks up, though on a different topic. I think this quest is the first time I've made clear enemies with another hero.
-
I nod pleasantly to Hoptet. What's the matter is the questboard. Didn't you see? Three quests, same location. You know full well what happened last time we saw that.
-
Dyric took note of the three new quests, and frowned. Three quests, at the same time, at the same location. The mirrors to Dastan were eerie. He hadn't been there, but he had heard the stories. He had seen the affect on people. Yet that in itself bothered Dyric, as it often had. He had never been there, never fought alongside his friends on that soil, never been on that soil. Sure he had good reasons for staying behind. Sure his defiance in not going led him to first meeting his brother Arthur. Sure staying behind had led him on the quest that changed his life, that shaped him into the Assassin he was. But that didn't remove the guilt. These quests were in the High Kingdoms. Of course, Dyric knew the area well. He could be a vital asset on the missions. He would not pass down the chance to make up for his absence at Dastan. Dyric Rone crosses his name off 87 and signs up for 88, 89 and 90. Dyric then moved upstairs to join Thothwick. It's happening again.

Lego Marvel Superheroes Game Announced
The Legonater replied to MattZitron's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
LSW: TCS definitely had one of - if not the - largest Character Creators ever. While it's true games like Indy 2 and TCW have had fairly small creators, I don't think we'll see one as extensive as TCS in a while. That said, Marvel does have a pretty good one, incorporating parts from a lot of the characters. They ever have a big-fig customizer, though it's really just recolouring previous big-figs you've unlocked. Having finally beat the main plot (there are way too many game-breaking glitches on the PC) I can say that this is definitely one of my favorite LEGO games yet. The plot - especially towards the end - is actually fairly mature in tone, and yet the typical LEGO humor remains throughout. It's a winning combination, and I'd like to see more original story ideas used with this format. I kind of feel the New York hub has a very 'LEGO Island 2' vibe for some reason, and it's a lot of fun to run, fly, and swing through. I love the hub's battle sequences (by these I mean the Sentinels and Red Hulk, for example). I found them a lot of fun despite their simplicity, and I'd like to see them used more often. The team has definitely nailed down the specific characters, and playing each of them is a lot of fun in its own. A very great job! -
I note that Skrall has been picked for his quest. Can never catch a break these days, eh? I guess I'll see you around!

Lego Marvel Superheroes Game Announced

I finally managed to beat the level by exploiting the above bug. I jumped out just before Venom destroyed the cannon, trapping me in the ground, where I could punch out Venom. If you're going to get stuck in the ground, it's best to do it as Black Widow, she isn't needed at all in the rest of the level.
