  1. I'm fine with him disliking a character. I don't feel they should break over 10 years of established canon because of that, though.
  2. He meant in the movie they do nothing with them, creating the issues you mentioned.
  3. Frankly, Christopher Tolkien is a bit snob-ish when it comes to this sort of thing. He claimed the LotR LEGO sets were a sign of 'rampant commercialism'. As for the Barrow-blades, they can and where introduced with the inclusion of Bombadil - who, personally, I'm glad he was cut, because I found him impeccably annoying - the only issue with it is they weren't described as Numenorian, which causes some issues with the whole Witch-King fight. But that has nothing to do with Bombadil and everything to do with writing. Really though, you can't judge Beorn's role in the next movie yet. We know almost nothing about it, except from some LEGO sets. If people took Kingdom of the Crystal Skull based on how it's LEGO sets looked it'd be a very different movie.
  4. Dyric will continue shooting at the Wyvern until it's dead, at which point he'll turn to the Roc.
  5. Yeah, Loki's fangirls are absolutely annoying. But that can be true for a lot of things, like Sherlock.
  6. Personally, Loki staying alive is a lot more in his personality. The amount of deception and mischief that went into him taking the throne is one of the first things to me that solidified him as an actual threat while remaining in his comic book persona, rather than a mild trickster with big plans. Not to mention it easily sets up for the future of the MCU.
  7. In fact, the whole thing with the Necromancer is something that comes up in references from a lot of the boos (the Appendices in LotR, the Unfinished Tales, the end of the Silmarillion) but it never really shown directly, and it did happen at that point. Can I also point out that the Legolas/Tauriel subplot feels weak because... there really isn't one? There's a couple lines of indication, but other than that, nothing. It's like calling Balin's banking a subplot. Where are you getting Beorn is a major player at Dol Guldor? Besides the LEGO sets - which have been notoriously inaccurate for future Licenced movies - there's no indication to that point.
  8. Can we just note for a second that one of the tracks on the soundtrack is 'Middle Zealand'? As for 'Everything is Awesome' I found it a little too cheery when I first heard it, the full version just makes it repetitive. That dubstep part definitely just... does not fit.
  9. Yeah, my top two ideas for the Clairvoyant are Leader or MODOK. Personally, I hope it isn't MODOK, because if he shows up, I want him done right - not in a relatively low-budget TV show.
  10. Sick, I keep feeling we don't get enough Sif screentime. I feel like audience members insisting that Hawkeye and Black Widow are 'lame' would feel less so if they knew their backstories. I mean, Black Widow has a lot of Captain America-esque abilities/training, and nobody thinks he's lame.
  11. I continue firing, determined.
  12. People keeps citing Whedon, but they're thinking of the wrong one. Joss is helping produce it, sure, but Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen are doing most if not all of the writing and stuff. I don't really know if they've done anything but help Joss with Dr. Horrible, though. I would agree that the show has been slowly improving over its course.
  13. I agree, it'd make sense to just keep it to Ether-based items.
  14. Yeah, that final scene with Blizzard excited me. I have been waiting for Graviton to come back for a while, but Blizzard was still really cool for the moment. Also, love Ian Quin being sort of indirectly causing the birth of all these supervillains. Of course he's involved with the Clairvoyant, too - I do like how the writers are connecting everything.
  15. So, getting off track for a second, this episode of Agents of Shield was amazing. Seriously a lot better than some of the stuff they've been putting out. The character melded better, the dialogue flowed better, and some of the pay-offs from past episodes were great, not to mention the set-up for future ones. Also, there was a nice reference to Bucky Barnes made. They're definitely setting up for Cap 2.
  16. Dr. Strange really isn't second-tier at all. He's only been an Avengers fairly recently, but he's still a large part of the Marvel universe, especially considering pretty much anything inter-dimensional comes back to him in some way. A Ms. Marvel movie would be neat, but I don't really see it happening without involving Rogue and the X-Men. I mean, that's what a lot of people know Ms. Marvel from.
  17. I've heard a lot of people asking for Depp and similar actors, but frankly I can't see it. Dr. Strange never really struck me as an extremely funny character. He has a good deal of deadpan snarking, but nothing Depp-class.
  18. I fire an arrow at the Wyvern from the back.
  19. I would love to do that. It sounds like a fun RPing experience.
  20. I really don't see why everyone finds Ward so bland. Though NCIS characters definitely have a lot more character than your give them credit for (the comment lines up for CSI, though. Such a boring show). As for Skye, I wasn't that irritated with her to begin with, but after this past episode she's definitely starting to grow on me.
  21. I attack the Hippogrif from the back
  22. I repeat my attack.
