Heroica RPG - Quest #64: Discord in Duplovia
The Legonater replied to The Legonater's topic in The Heroica Archive
Morcrass spins around, kicking at Sarge's peg-leg and toppling him over. Morcrass stands. I could say the same. Do you really expect to gain much by fighting me this way, rogue? Morcrass turns to Thalion. My employer didn't say anything about keeping you folks alive, just away from the action. Which should be getting underway now. If you don't mind, I'll let little Tim deal with you. -
Sandy, that was a beautiful quest. How you managed to keep track of all the individual complexities of it like that, with that massive number of PCs and NPCs, leaves me amazed. Incredible job!

Sarge pulls out his weapon to stab Morcrass, but the man pulls a surprisingly agile move for a man his age, and puts Sarge in a headlock. Yet again, the man seems to have secrets. I figured I wouldn't be able to convince you. Perhaps my employer would be able to, but that isn't out goal at the moment. Are we done here? -
That is a gorgeous model. There's so much detail to it, it's almost the perfect set - though they missed out giving us a Endor Han Solo. However, 300 bucks? Orthanc is cheaper than that, and its a model I like a lot more. I want to get this, but this is going to be a tough nut to crack.

I will consider it if you prove yourself by paying this debt. -
It seems to be a general rule of thumb that everyone on Quest 53 blames themselves for something that went on in the quest.

Heroica RPG - Quest #65: Breaking Down the Door
The Legonater replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in The Heroica Archive
You mistake my words - I have never fought for fame nor wealth. I fight for the stabilization of Eubric - once I took a... stroll through Triad Park, and saw the destruction there. But through all that I saw hope, I saw the children of Lords Hinckwell and Shadeux as friends instead of enemies, and saw that if we could keep the peace until they came in power, Eubric might see the sun shine again. That is what I fight for. But if we want to start change, we must start with small things like these debts. -

Don't degrade us, we're not mere terrorists. We are freedom fighters, liberating our country. You saw the people in the streets, clinging to what they have, desperate. Everyone is sick to death of this pointless war. They're crying out for an end to the feud, but no one listens. They're listening now. The countries are arranging peace. Peace? Don't be delusional, young prefect. They aren't bringing peace. They're taking a pause, a deep breath before the plunge, as it were. This is but a chance to prepare for war, a war that will be swift, deadly and consume all. The government system has become corrupt, and my employer realized this. That's why we're here - to liberate the people, to give them their hard-earned freedom from this impression. If need be, we will fight for our freedom - something 'Heroes' of Eubric like you would never understand. You've sat in your oppression and self-destruction, allowing your six houses to feud as the hovels are run down and brought into ruin. You've dne nothing. I am ashamed to say a Duplovian was a veteran of Heroica, but if he saw what it has become I have little doubt the Miracleworker would weep for the city. You have no right to try to change Duplovia's course if you can barely change your own. We will rise above you, 'heroes', until we have cured Duplovia and Delfrin of its sickness, of this deluded government. -

I know the downfall of which you speak. But it is because of this downfall we must fight, to preserve what little order and justice is left. Leaving these debts unpaid is not justice, it only feeds the chaos. Could you live with that? Could you live with the knowledge you've assisted that which you wish to destroy? I could not. -

The next step. The grande finale, if you will. A shame you won't live to see it. -

You think you can kill me here, in my lair, where my soldiers wait in the shadows? You're braver than I thought. Still, I'll indulge you for now. You see, my employer wasn't a huge fan of the alliance, but he wanted to make the most of it. So, I was hired to take care of the situation, by setting up and connecting gangs. We had limited progress, as everyone was interested in their own gains. Then you came in. Eyric went out of his way to hire you, and the King agreed. I had quite the time dealing with you, I even had to run with an entourage to Newharbour to tell the pirates I hired to take you out. You cut through them, but they managed to stall you a little - we had to stall you. There was one elusive gang we hadn't been able to contact, but we'd received word they were setting up for an assassination. We had to let it go, to find out who these people were. Despite it all, you got there in time to foil the assassination. Even still, my employer and I managed to flip the situation to our side - we caught word you had a piece of identification off the body, and figured you'd go to Krinkins about it. So we set up an ambush, waiting for you to get a word on the inscriptions. With that, you folks led us here, where we were able to set up a network that spanned not only Duplovia, but now to Delfrin as well. Perhaps one day we'll spread across the entire High Kingdoms, and it's all thanks to you, 'heroes'. Thankfully, though, it doesn't end here. Not for me, at least. -

I know your type. I am your type. We are men of justice and order, who seek the stabilization of this cruel world. We are exiles, slaves, who've been oppressed far too long have seeked to act on it. Yet you hide in the shadows, behind locked doors, disguising yourself from the world around you. I know - I know - the hiding in the shadows, living in angst and guilt for the world you left behind will do nothing. If you wish to act, then act. Go out in the world and do something, don't hide from mere debts. If you want to change the world, start by changing yourself. And for that, we can start with paying this debt. -

The Ambushers are silent, clearly furious at the death of the other Ambusher. You want the truth, chaps? Go beyond that door. He points to a dark door in the corner. -
Lego Marvel Superheroes Game Announced

I highly doubt we'll get either. In fact, I wouldn't expect any of the movie actors to be in on this - they're far too busy, and don't have the time to come in and read lines. -

Yeah, we heard what you did to Vastin. Left him and his group tied up with no food, no water - that supposed to be heroic to you? 'Heroes', pah. We know your type. Vastin never talked, neither will we. Don't go looking at me, I just work here. -

Well that's the million dollar question, isn't it? Untie us and I'll give you a good answer. Heh heh, can't take a good Duplovian drink, Sarge? I would've figured you tougher than that. -
Here's some alternates for Dyric: Black Knight: The concept behind this one is actually pretty close to the original direction I was thinking of Rone before Quest 34. Raider: This one is the result of the idea that Rone would be more of a classy Raider. If I had a green hood, I'd definitely use it. Sorcerer: Again, no green hood, sorry. Witch: Going back to the Black Knight concepts here.

Cronk, make sure Jeremy is somewhere safe! -
That actually sounds really amazing! Though, mind you, I've been reading a lot of EGS lately, so I have a lot of shapeshitfing/transforming ideas swirling around my head.
