  1. Taking into account that we're getting all these confirmed reports on other sets , it's a safe bet it's game over for TLM stuff. Many Licensed themes are lucky to get a couple of years on the shelves and there's been some that's vanished in a year. We've had TLM sets out for just over 12 months, 3 waves worth of stuff, and people have moved onto other stuff for the most part so that's probably going to be the end of that. uh... Hold on. What do you mean "only 2 small sets so far"? There's supposed to be 3 wave 3 sets. A DDC set, the angry kitty, and some police set.
  2. i was actually thinking about that mystery not that long ago. i realized that i shouldn't try to question the logic of a movie that i don't even like so i quit trying to solve the mystery. At one point i was going "ok, we have sets based off stuff seen in the movie but the stuff was built from stuff in the dad's collection but how is that possible when the stuff was only brought into an existence during the course of a movie but couldn't exist to be built when there were no such sets". At that point I went, "ok dum-dum, you don't even like the movie and the only way that you'll probably watch it again is under reasons of boredom and if it comes on a main channel to be dvr'd for free, so why are you giving yourself a migraine trying to figure out the logic of the thing?"
  3. As far as Velcro goes, we do have industrial strength that i could swipe a few pieces from but the only problem is if i decided to use it as a regular baseplate, then i'll have to deal with the Velcro. . If i get a yes it'll work from a person that's tried it here or a yes from the company, i will be looking into printing a coupon and doing the price check for it.
  4. Not just dope. According to the wikia, "He has been seen at Alcoholics Anonymous meetings: "My name is Otto, and I love to get blotto!" Otto has been seen smoking marijuana and during Trappuccino, he used a bong. He once had a hallucination in which his shoes were talking to him as a result of his drug use. Skinner stated that also, at one point, he was apparently driving the bus while on narcotics, wondering if Metallica was indeed the real Metallica with their tour bus broken down, until a narcotic-induced hallucination of a dragon confirmed he wasn't seeing things in regards to Metallica. Otto once submitted a urine sample as part of an application for a job as a prison guard, which contained "crack, smack, uppers, downers, outers, inners, horse tranquilizers, cow paralyzers, blue bombers, green goofers, yellow submarines" and "LSD Mach 3". He only managed to pass because he swapped his sample with Homer's". and in the trivia section it says that "He gave a urine sample that showed he took so many drugs that it only contained trace amounts of human urine." On top of that, in the last few seasons or so of show, he's been shown EATING the radioactive bar and one opening scene(christmas special) showed him lighting up and getting a sort of hallucination from a candy cane!
  5. Thing is that a tv wouldn't fit in the spot i want to put it in and i don't have the budget for anything to expensive Problem with plates is 2 fold for me though. First i want to go horziontal with my builds not vertical for something different. Second off, while i do have a couple more 16 x 32's, a 16X16 regular PLUS road, 32x32, big 15 dollar baseplate, and one or 2 of the 8 X 16's, I only have maybe 2 of the 16 X 16 plates, the only 8X16's i have are wrapped up in something i built, and my next biggest ones are maybe 5 of the 8x8 plates. That would be a pretty good idea if i had larger plates to spare or at least money to buy a couple larger plates and a few more technic plates and it wouldn't be a case of having to be super precise.
  6. I am looking for a little more space then light switch plates. And tbh the main reason I want to do it above the light switch is b/c I don't have much space elsewhere in my room. Prett much the Only unreserved spot that a plate would look decent and I can easily access besides the lightswitch is a small area between my 5 shelf bookshelf and my 39 drawer stack-on unit. I'll have to get an email out to command I guess
  7. I am in the middle of turning my room into a Lego room. I decided a short time ago that i want to put a baseplate on the wall(the 16 x 32 one). Problem is I don't want a permanent souloution like gluing and scrwwing is out since I don't want to risk cracking one of only a few plates of that size I have. On top of that, it'd be above my light switch so I don't know if drilling there would be the best option. Anyone have experience with those command strips or tacky putty type stuff? Am striking out on google
  8. Yep. MB has gender benders that people are begging for from TLG, they have 4x4 tiles, they have neat brackets like 1x1/1x1, they have 3x3 macaroni, and 2 X 2 plates with clips plus a 2x2 plate with bar! Megabloks is thinking outside the box and actually creating some neat stuff.
  9. Have you tried checking bricklink for parts for mocs? If you do a little research, you could probably do a couple big orders and be set on parts as long as you reuse them in mocs. Don't forgot the brick seperators. If you get at least one old style along with new school, then you will be able to get tricky plates apart. Spend a little time crunching numbers and comparing sellers and you can get far. When you buy parts, go for parts that you can use over and over again like 1x2 bricks, flush mounted side stud bricks, studs, etc. People have even used the new brick seperators as parts in a model! As far as the size of a moc goes, think smaller with lots of small parts for detailing instead of going massive. Just b/c other people make big things means you have to. While I do have a mid-sized collection, I don't go big since I don't have much display space. As far as lack of storage, there's a ton of options. One of the best for lack of space are ziptoc bags inside of totes. However you might want to also look into a couple small sets of pull out style drawers to put on a desk or table. Table top storage is valuable since you could use it to sort out mini figure parts, store favorite parts, keep random parts, small instructions, or any number of other things. I have a small 5 or 6 drawer unit so that's become a mini figure station and I have another set of drawers that I can pull out to use for something And try checking for clearances where you live and england when you visit. Somethings there are really good clearances to be found and those sets could be really great part packs sources.
  10. id say otto mann due to his "recreational" habit but if they are allowing snake as a figure with his criminal history, you never know.
  11. Those things are a pest if they go off accidently and I'd rather tlg focus on making something where its an "oh man! This is an awesome build! I wish I thought of doing that" and not "oh wow, another part that'll get stuffed in my missle box or ffm container and not get used if I take the model apart".
  12. I forgot about those 1 x 4 thing! The ffms are in place on my sss but the springers are not loaded since I heard leaving them armed can mess with the spring.
  13. If I ran the group, I'd make sure when a theme or sub-theme starts of being released in countries at the same time, I'd make sure it'd stay that way!!! Lego friends animals is a major victim of this! 2013 saw 3 waves that came out about the same time in the states and UK. 2014 comes along and I start wondering what the company was thing. UK saw wave 4 in January, wave 5 by the summer, and 6 by about September. The states saw wave 4 in late march, wave 5 in October, and who knows on wave 6! Tried emailing TLG and got no where and know one here knows anything. No animals listed for the summer wave and my hunt for a march list was a strike out. Wave 5 has been sold out online yet no series 6 is showing up. Make up your mind Lego! Oh, and defiantly agree on the no more ffm and spring loaded shooters! Am sick of those things popping up in sets and eating up part count space. Except for bennys SSS, I can't thing of any sets that I have that would be just fine w/o them.
  14. I think they mean grease like cooking grease or grease for the car. And unless you're going from cooking dinner or taking a shower straight to building legos w/o making sure your hands are clean, i doubt that'd be much of a problem. As far as said substance just falling on the brick or the fumes getting to it, unless you're store legos in the kitchen or bathroom, i doubt that'd be the case. yea and how many of the problems out there get reported? Doubt every single person does it or knows they can do it.
  15. Actually that pretty much describes the movie right there. All that's missing is it should say "longest advertisement with a plot that screams "The 90's are calling, they want their cheesy plot twist back" for a toy for kids over 3.
  16. Closest store is around 6 hours from me.
  17. O_O Now THAT would be something i'd open my wallet to! I love the THOH Episodes
  18. looks promising. I'll bookmark it for future reference. Thanks.
  19. I am currently recreating one of my favorite RuPaul drag queens of all time, Darienne Lake. I am making this figure in the style of the outfit Darienne lake wears when he enters the workroom for the first time and will include a link at the bottom of this post of him entering. I know which torso and slope i can use once i can buy them from BL though i do have a temp solution at the moment. And there's plenty of head options. Problem is that i can't seem to figure out a good hair piece to use that's available in a red or red-ish color like his wig is. The Marilyn Monroe style looks like it could pass if it'd be available in a red/red-ish color and the little mermaid wig is the right color and a decent style but it's too long. Wouldn't be a problem if i was a customizer but i'm not. Even skimmed through the clones popping up on eBay but no luck. Now for the video i'm talking about. He enters right at the :48 second mark, can't miss him. Plus sized queen in the red wig and blue outfit. Thanks
  20. besides lego, i also play my 3ds xl, surf the web, watch tv, and began playing "dead rising: Chop till you drop" last night on the wii. the wii game is stuck on hold for a couple days until i can stop coughing(allergies are acting up due to wonky weather). Coughing + trying to shoot a zombie or trying to konk them with random stuff won't work! wound up neuturing a few via bullet yesterday thanks to coughing. XD
  21. Maybe i'm the odd one out but shouldn't ya'll be enjoying the figures that are currently have out especially since there's no guarantee how much longer this series might go on? If wiki is right, this march will mark 5 years this theme has existed and that's a pretty long time given the life span of a lot of themes out there. We are up to 13 numbered waves, Team GB, TLM, Simpsons wave one, a confirmed simpsons wave 2, plus the toy soldier in CMF guide book.
  22. Bought 2 of the mama rabbit and bunny sets from target today. Was debating about getting the vet ambulance but i decided to pass since i'm trying to cut back on buying and i could just recreatee the set with parts in my collection. Good thing i did since i scored "Dead rising: chop til you drop" for a 10 spot at GS. :D
  23. Thing is if lego really tried, they could make some of the 2 wide modulex be able to fit on top of lego system bricks but nanoblocks cant do that. That would be a billion and one uses right there.
  24. I don't think the price factor would be as much of a problem if we actually had PRINTED stuff and not 3 tons of stickers! Isn't there a LOTR set that's famous for having like a 100 stickered parts? Like i've said b4, if i wanted to have stickered parts, i'd raid a few BL stores and go crazy. When you're paying a premium for a lego set, seems like it shouldn't be unreasonable to want printed parts. Would love to know why mega bloks have stickers and a much lower price while maintaining a great quality and yet lego is also sticker obsessed but the prices are a lot higher and quality problems are popping up a lot more. and maybe it's just me but i'm seeing not much in the way of wow factors anymore. I mean yea there's some interesting looking things, but am i seeing anything that's going to make me rip my wallet out my purse? Not really. Current buy wants are the mama rabbit and baby set(once i can find it i will be buying it), a debating on the pet vet vehicle, and twiddling my thumbs waiting for series 6 friends to show up. And i have a giant maybe on 3 mixel sets and Simpsons wave 2 CBG Plus this modulex stunt is just cruel! Why make such a big deal about it just to have some side group come in to snatch it to just block any chances of anyone making it??? If lego doesn't want to bother making new modulex sets, FINE but why can't they at least let a clone company have a chance to do it? Are they to afraid that people will switch sides or something?
  25. Probably cheap molds since these things are only on the market for such a short time resulting in lego Not being out that much for a single use thing vs regular made stuff that tends to remain on the market for at least a year or two. I'm hoping to find the figs on sale for really cheap since i REALLY want 2 Hot-dog guys so i can get my hands on a couple of those really epic plain torsos. The MVP in the lego minifigure world for me are plain torsos that have a million and one uses. Red bob torso is my favorite. I've used it to make a lego bob, a female bob, a pharaoh, a pilot, a replacement for an emmet that met the wrath of t-jo when he was snatched when i turned away for a second, and was a contender for being in a moc i'm doing.
