LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Something_Awesome replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Did not calculate length, but I did calc what a minifig-scale AT-AT should be height wise. Was an easy calc. Should be 21.5 to 22.5 inches tall. Somewhere in that range (forget exactly). So I think it is safe to say this is truly minifig scale. We can now have an idea of what it would be like to stand in front of a life-sized AT-AT lol. LEGO sets have to be made in a way where they are reliable and do not fall apart easily. And the set you mention I think has static legs. And 4.5 inches taller is a big difference. And if you made it bigger, it would not be minifig scale. 100% nobody wants a AT-AT set that is bigger than minifig scale. -
LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

In response to some of the criticisms of this set, I think some of you are overlooking that this is as much as an expensive play set as it is a display set. The interior is meant to be played with. True, a kid may have trouble with the legs given the overall weight of the set (we’ll have to wait and see), but I think the idea that this is totally playable as a stationary walker/base that deploys troopers, attacks from range, and gets attacked by snowspeeders. -
PSA: UCS Millennium Falcon looks to be retiring soon
Something_Awesome replied to Something_Awesome's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I suppose it could be retiring in 2022. Perhaps it is in a queue to retire. In any case, I am definitely now going to have to reconsider the order of sets to buy. I was going to buy the Cantina in November because I figured the Falcon would be around for a long while. And while 500 items did come up with the search, there is a very long list of sets retiring this year according to promo bricks, and many of the other sets part of the 500 sets that came up were also retired already. I did not find it practically to do a very thurough audit of the sets. But enough big sets came up that I knew was retiring to make me concerned. As for people getting an email the set was in stock, I do not rely on things like that as it comes to retirement. There have been sets whose retirement was imminent and yet they were restocked. Likely because even though they were scheduled to retire, the manufacture cutoff was not yet reached. -
I went to the LEGO site to see if they had the Harry Potter Great Hall. It was no longer shown on the Harry Potter page. I searched "Retired Product" in the search bar and it brought up a lot of sets that are either retired or are officially designated as retiring soon. However, what surprised me is that the UCS Millennium Falcon appeared on search. It is not too uncommon for sets to appear on searches for retirement even though the product page of the given sets are not labeled as "retiring soon" because they are flagged for retirement internally. So this is just a heads up because I know this is a very expensive set and many people can just come up with the money to buy this set on a whim; proper advance notice can help. I expected this set to have a 5 year life. So now I too need to give this set consideration. I regretted not getting Cloud City and the Death Star playset; don't want to regret this one.

Hi guys. I have been out of the LEGO loop for a long while; however, I was at the Los Angeles Auto Show this past weekend and saw this LEGO set on display. Is this an official set? Or a moc? What? I would love to get my hands on it to be honest. In case the above link doesn't work, there is this link: https://ibb.co/xsN0tvb It's interesting because this was an official event and it has Ford stickers. Dunno, but I like what I saw.

This thread gave me a lot of moc-related inspiration I have been looking. Thanks Gymped, Bataleon, and Prayter Yed (I have always liked your moisture vaporator btw). -

Question about the upcoming Landspeeder set from A New Hope. This will obviously be a smaller set. My assumption is that these smaller sets (under $40 or so) tend to NOT have stickers. So does this mean that there is a good chance that this new version of the Landspeeder will be "superior" to the one we just had in the Cantina set? The Landspeeder is the only set that interests me from this wave. -

Or how about just stay on topic on not dictate how other should prioritize things in their life? Duuuuurrrrrr This thread has "rules". There are no rules that tell me to watch TFA this weekend as opposed to Tuesday. -

You jerks need to stop ruining the movie for those of us that have not seen it yet. There have been lots of posts that have spoilers in them. That includes people who have hidden their posts with spoiler buttons because there are spoilers in their posts that they failed to hide. People have been posting big spoilers without even realizing it. This thread officially sucks now. Nobody gives a rip about how you conect stuff you saw in the movie to TFA sets that are out now, as well as those sets that are NO LONGER RUMORED but confirmed to be released. -

It may have been before this year then. But people "in the know" had said originally that the set was going to be an AT-AT. This distortion of information is explainable if the Hoth includes one. At the end of the day, a Hoth UCS makes zero sense if there is no concurrently released AT-AT. Hoth is popular for two reason only people. The two reasons being: AT-AT's and Snowspeeders. Kids won't care about an echo base if they don't have an AT-AT. It's the truth. So that's why it's bundled. -

That still does not explain early reports that the UCS Hoth set was actually a UCS AT-AT. -

Disagree. The UCS Hoth set then would have been delayed to give Lego time to purge current AT-AT's from their inventory. I don't expect much from the UCS Echo base. It's not like you're building a dome. And the set's purpose is defeated without a snowspeeder and AT-AT. I'm betting on a bundle. -

Bad news guys. The 75054 AT-AT has retired. You know what this means? It means that the Hoth UCS set that is supposed to come out in 2016 will come with an AT-AT included. It also looks like it will come with a Snowspeeder since the latest snowspeeder has also retired. Since we won't get a Hoth base we've been hoping for (since so many of the parts will be allocated to vehicles), the best thing that we CAN hope for now is at least a bigger AT-AT. This does explain why I had heard reports earlier this year that the UCS Hoth set was actually an AT-AT. While a UCS sized AT-AT is unlikely, I think that an AT-AT that is at least half way between the system scale set and a UCS sized one could actually salvage this Hoth UCS set. I'd pick one up if the AT-AT was made bigger. One can only hope, but at the price point of 270 when you consider everything else you're getting, it seems doubtful. -

There is a strong possibility that a snowspeeder will be included in the UCS Hoth set because Snowspeeder 75049 has been retired. -
Really surprised that the UCS Sandcrawler of 2014 has not gotten any love. Difficult to say which sets were the best of their respective years but the UCS Sandcrawler is easily one of the best sets, if not the best, of any line in 2014. The set is loaded with charm.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Something_Awesome replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
True, Toys R Us does have it. None in stock at physical stores in my city however. Last I checked, Wal Mart did not have it in stock in store or online. Since this posting though I was able to buy one at Target for 55 dollars, however it was the last one in their inventory. I may get a second one because I need the parts for a diorama I will be making that features the Sandcrawler. I will also need the new Droid Escape set :) -
