  1. I'll probably buy a couple ITT's and take the bodies of the storm troopers and use them on my stormies that don't have full body printing from the OT sets. I have stormies from the Ewok set and a bunch from the endor battle packs that could use full body printing. I'd imagine that the printing would be sharper and look really nice, too.
  2. Not getting anything from the Winter wave, unless the UCS Slave 1 counts or if we're lucky enough to have OT stormies in the ITT.
  3. Have you tried looking at lifelites.com? They're more meant for Lego.
  4. There's always a lot of speculation and buzz around future sets, but generally, with the release of new waves we can expect Lego to retire current sets. We don't want to miss out on sets now, do we? Anyone have any predictions on what sets would retire next? Death Star and the R2-D2 sets aside, I think the X-Wing (9493) has the longest production cycle so far. Heck, Darth Maul is on the box art. I predict that this set could retire soon (around the release of the winter wave). What are your thoughts? Also keep in mind that we could see an X-Wing in Star Wars Rebels and we will surely see an X-Wing in Episode 7, but given that, wouldn't you think that Lego would finally retire 9493 to make a Rebels or Episode 7 variant? Now I'd imagine that a Rebels variant would look very close to an OT X-Wing, so I guess an Episode 7 X-Wing, which is said to look different, would make more sense. Another set that's had a good production run is the Millennium Falcon, but I don't see that set being retired just yet. There isn't anything in the winter wave that we've seen yet that can take the Millennium Falcon's spot. But then again, there have been rumors of a Millennium Falcon UCS set, and that could mean an end for the system scale version, though I'd be surprised if it got retired before next summer. However, the Falcon is going to appear in Episode 7 and I don't think we should expect it to look different (maybe more detailed). In that case, it may be worth keeping the current system scale version around a good while longer since it is a staple ship in Star Wars lore. Thoughts?
  5. Your blanket statement is not applicable to stormtroopers discussion. Many people don't need all their stormtroopers to be uniform. I am OK with some having leg printing where others don't. In this case though, the mouth looking the way it does is too over-the-top to be able to incorporate with any OT-based displays. Aside from the incompatibility (which is tragic considering the Rebels line is not even fleshed out enough to support a Rebels battlepack), the Rebels stormtroopers themselves have mouth designs that are even more exaggerated than the mouth designs in the cartoon.
  6. The mouth isn't the only difference. Not like the other differences matter as much though when the mouth looks as awful as it does. It's extremely exaggerated and cartoony.
  7. I agree with Bantha Fodder. Connecting sets may be something Lego is trying to do more regularly now. Look at the phantom and ghost. Also, while they don't exactly connect, there is no way you can get Jabba's barge and not consider getting a desert skiff!
  8. Why would it be a mistake? The toys of this vehicle were always episode 4-6 based.
  9. I have 550 US dollars in Lego credit, and yet here I am buying a retro set. Got the Battle of Endor set (8038). I know we hear a lot about how people can be huge suckers for Hoth sets, but I am a huge sucker for Endor sets. I do not yet own the Ewok village, but I'll probably buy a couple this October when there is tripple points. And yes, I have the UCS Shuttle ;)
  10. I could sell any set. The only Lego stuff I could never sell are my boxed Winter Village sets. I have all of them so far, and am excited for Santa's Workshop.
  11. I really needed to know how tall the shuttle is off it's stand, but on the landing gear before I invest in it. Thanks for any help! I searched all over the net and could not find the answer. I only found the height of the ship while on it's stand. Thanks!
  12. Why do people keep saying the AT AT is smaller? Where are people getting this crap from?
  13. It is a great MOC, but I am guessing since you call it "the best ever" that you have not seen brickplumber's Endor MOC on Youtube.
  14. I think you guys are nuts. The motor version looks the worst by far. This one is easily the best version.
  15. I am sorry, but what are the dimensions of the AT-AT again? The typo there confuses me. Thanks for the great review!
  16. The phantom and ghost connect with eachother.
  17. Wow guys... For those of you that are going the route of completionist, that must be tough because of cost and space limitations. For those of you parting out old sets, its for the sake of building MOC's right?
  18. The AT-AT walker does not need great minifigs to sell... The AT-AT walker needs AT-AT walker to sell.
  19. Excited most about the at-at. It is bigger than the last design. Please get your facts straight or say that you are not referring to 8129 when you say it is smaller in size.
  20. I have to agree. Not sure what Lego was thinking with the echo base. I understand the idea of a playset, but something about it did not feel like star wars. I think a square base with blast doors woukd have made more sense.
  21. I can so relate to this. If you monitor Lego releases closely, you probably could sell retired sets for a nice price before news of a refreshed version gets to the mainstream public ;) Of course that raises an ethical issue as you are profiting on someone's reasonable ignorance.
  22. OMG me too. I will also make an exception if anything from PT spills into OT. For instance, I have a few episode 2 sand people to go with my OT collection of Tatooine sets. Have loved reading every word of everyone's post so far!
  23. I dunno, for me, if it's a Tatooine or Endor set, I gotta have it (including any sets that have an Endor/Tatooine connection like the Millenium Falcon and the UCS Imperial Shuttle). I pretty much have all the relevant Endor/Tatooine sets to date since they switched to tanned skin from the yellow skin. I used to collect Hoth based sets but I didn't want the collection to get out of hand, so I sold them all. The goal is to build a large Tatooine and Endor based display. Currently, all my sets are sealed and I am MOC'ing the Endor landing pad to use later in an Endor display. However, I've recently had a change of heart about doing the Endor display first because I am not sure if I should MOC a satellite dish and use my sealed UCS Imperial Shuttle in the display or wait for a new system scale release of the shuttle. I do not own the system scale shuttle and with me considering selling the UCS (sealed) and waiting for another system scale release, Endor will be on hold. With that said, I intend to do a Tatooine display first which will feature the latest Sandcrawler and the Millenium Falcon in docking bay 94. My only concerns for these displays are the size. So we'll see. So I pose the question to all of you listed in the subject of my topic because the impression I get is that many of you seem to just display the sets you like, fully constructed, on a shelf. I guess that's cool but why just display individual sets/vehicles by themselves on a shelf. Building a Lego world around your favorite sets helps bring them to life. Actually, the UCS imperial shuttle is what got me into Lego collecting. The original idea was to custom build an Endor display around the UCS shuttle (not to scale of course) to serve as an accent around the UCS shuttle, making the set the center piece. So what do you guys do with your Star Wars Lego? Or, plan to do?
