LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors
Something_Awesome replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Guys, the cantina is getting 8 figs for sure? Because the prelim pic says we are also getting an astromech mech and protocol droid. Thats 2 figs. Plus Luke, Han, Obi, Greedo, and a sand trooper. That leaves room for one last fig, which will be the Ithorian (as pictured). My only concern is Obi-Wan. I see no picture of him and the description could predate the pic, in which case he is scrapped from the set. Or, the picture dould predate the description where the droids have been scrapped. In that case, we would have room for 2 more figs. -
Bravo!

I do not know about that. Did not get more than 2 of those awesome scout troopers in the ewok village. -

Anyone thinking about getting the Droid Escape set now (set 9490)? I never considered getting it, but I plan to do a Mos Eisley MOC featuring the new Cantina, and it'd be nice to have a spare R2 D2 and C3PO to feature. Also, the amazing sand troopers don't hurt! Thoughts? One trooper on a dewback isn't enough imo. -

It also looks like the Cantina will have a functionality similar to the retiring Hoth Echo Base. There are hinges that appear to allow the structure to fold into itself and open as well. But at 600 something pieces, there has to be more to it than what we see -

The AT AT in the picture is the 8129 with some photoshopped changes. I know the 8129 like the back of my hand. Just relax. Take a deep breath. There will be changes. Be reasonable people. Squidward is in mos eisley and clone trooper helmets on snowtroopers. Some times as a company you want to convey an idea without revealing all your cards. -
I dunno. It may still be too early on the basis that 8097 was a great set. Lego really nailed the design. The only thing that I felt that needed to be improved was the inside of the cockpit. The inside just looked very plain. If they do a Slave 1 system set, I'd perhaps wager it would be Jango fett's slave 1. And that's the thing, everyone here is assuming the next slave 1 is Bobba Fett's. It may be Jango's instead.

I think we need to stop assuming that kids like the new blasters. I do not think they will. With that concept in mind, I hold the opinion that EVERYONE will think they suck. -

Toys r us had that set for 35.99 a week ago (limit 2). That is usually a solid sign that it is retiring (when retailers try to push items off shelves). -

Yes but sales at brick and mortar stores is a must to suppliment online sales. There are plenty of other themes that sell well online as well and have the in-store sales to go a long with it. It sounds like you are trying to convince yourself that the line is actually doing well. The only thing that can, and would, save the line is a Rivendell. A large Rivendell playset can do for the line what the Parisian Restaurant did for its line. Many will dip into that line for the first time thanks to the Parisian Restaurant (myself included). -
thanks, 6 of the last 7 were very helpful. I though MF meant something else.

Yea, this thread is filled with so many accronyms and abbreviations that following it becomes impossible.

While I know this is an old thread, I just bought the 7666 set a month ago, and this indeed has given me a lot of ideas on what to do with the set!
-
Do you like to build and play with them? Perhaps make dioramas of actual scenes? MOC's? Maybe build them and just put them on display as standalone set pieces on a shelf? Me, I just buy them and collect them at the moment and leave them in their sealed packages. The only set that I have opened and built is one 8129 AT-AT Walker. I have a second 8129 in sealed package and, may end up buying a third. I do intend at some point to build a diorama or MOC scene, however, til then I will continue collecting all the Hoth and Endor sets. Currently, all I need to complete my collection to the point where I want it to be to fulfill my vision for the Hoth and Endor dioramas or MOC's is a third 8129 AT-AT. I am thinking about building a custom AT-AT instead though.

What's your recent LEGO Star Wars Purchase?
Something_Awesome replied to KimT's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Just got two Battle of Hoth sets from Toys R Us for $75.00 US (before tax). And if you factor in the 10% promo they have going on right now for rewards members, that brings the before tax total to just under $68.00. I am super happy with this deal. I went into Toys R Us to take advantage of their buy one get one 50% off deal and to see if they would price match shop.lego.com in the process. Well, this isn't something they normally do (stack matches and discount offers), but the manager did it. It was 3 minutes before close and the manager just seemed happy that the day was over so he applied the discounts! -
REVIEW 9497 - Republic Striker-class Starfighter
Something_Awesome replied to def's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The minifigs are awesome. For those unaware, The jedi in this set is the grandaughter of Bastilla Shan from Knights of the Old Republic. -
I feel that if we were to get an AT-AT, it would be a UCS set. I think a UCS AT-AT isn't a matter of "if," but "when."
-
I personally find the Old Republic sets to be awesome. I also very much enjoy the story arch. And, while I know the Knights of the Old Republic story line took place a little before the Old Republic, I would love to see a Darth Malak minifigure. I also loved how there were several Jedi, a Jedi Council, and a bunch of Sith running around to boot. I certainly hope that Lego makes more Old Republic sets.
