  1. I dunno, for me, if it's a Tatooine or Endor set, I gotta have it (including any sets that have an Endor/Tatooine connection like the Millenium Falcon and the UCS Imperial Shuttle). I pretty much have all the relevant Endor/Tatooine sets to date since they switched to tanned skin from the yellow skin. I used to collect Hoth based sets but I didn't want the collection to get out of hand, so I sold them all. The goal is to build a large Tatooine and Endor based display. Currently, all my sets are sealed and I am MOC'ing the Endor landing pad to use later in an Endor display. However, I've recently had a change of heart about doing the Endor display first because I am not sure if I should MOC a satellite dish and use my sealed UCS Imperial Shuttle in the display or wait for a new system scale release of the shuttle. I do not own the system scale shuttle and with me considering selling the UCS (sealed) and waiting for another system scale release, Endor will be on hold. With that said, I intend to do a Tatooine display first which will feature the latest Sandcrawler and the Millenium Falcon in docking bay 94. My only concerns for these displays are the size. So we'll see. So I pose the question to all of you listed in the subject of my topic because the impression I get is that many of you seem to just display the sets you like, fully constructed, on a shelf. I guess that's cool but why just display individual sets/vehicles by themselves on a shelf. Building a Lego world around your favorite sets helps bring them to life. Actually, the UCS imperial shuttle is what got me into Lego collecting. The original idea was to custom build an Endor display around the UCS shuttle (not to scale of course) to serve as an accent around the UCS shuttle, making the set the center piece. So what do you guys do with your Star Wars Lego? Or, plan to do?
  2. He is from Kmights of the Old Republic not The Old Republic and is one of the main characters in what is perhaps the best star wars story line ever... In my mind, it is without question and is what finally got me to respect the franchise.
  3. Don't neglect the lego pick a brick site. While generally more expensive, for common pieces they have an unlimited inventory. What this means for you use if you can get certain order from pick a brick that may otherwise require say four sellers, then you will often save money due to shipping. Though you will pay tax at the pick-a-brick site (if applicable).
  4. The set is going to need help if it's going to hit the 300 dollar mark. That is, a motorized crane and lights. And perhaps it should be able to move forward and backward using a controller as well.
  5. No, the price is not confirmed. The 250-300 dollar price was speculated last year when it was thought that the set was going to be a UCS (even though the set number did not follow UCS numbering). Not sure why everyone is saying it's going to be 300; you'd think the price was written in the bible with how hung up they are on that price tag.
  6. I've seen the millenium falcon 2011 edition hit as low as 103 dollars US. Why not just buy it when it goes on sale? I bought 2 at that price.
  7. Did not read... started out like a communist post.
  8. Most insightful post in this thread (especially sentence 2). And yes, I've followed since page 1. It indeed has attracted "speculators," as I know a few that have gotten into for the Falcon, Eiffel Tower, or Taj Mahal.
  9. Personally, I would love for Lego to re-release Queen Anne's Revenge.
  10. What's wookiepedia? And any casual 6-year-old fan would have been able to deduce Jawa/Sand People tension as the behavior of each impedes the other. You seem more upset about the fact that anyone would suggest such a thing, as if you were a Star Wars purist that would hate to have such a set tainted with Sand People.
  11. We think it because it makes sense. Though if you consider imperials to be the Jawas primary antagonists, then I guess it could be up for debate. Though most sensible people would vote the Sand People as the primary antagonists to the Jawas as their paths have overlapped for far longer stretches of time. Now if you don't feel that a potential 300 dollar set needs bad guys to go with the good guys, then that's another story. Generally, toys targeted at young males are marketed with a slant towards conflict, and Tuskens would provide that conflict. Hope this helps! By the way, Jabba's Palace is retiring. Many Lego Stores have pushed the sets out and there could be a chance that the set goes out of stock at the lego online shop before it gets tagged with a "retiring soon" label. That is what happened with Droid Escape and Battle of Hoth (75014). I think the Palace, paired with Cantina and Sandcrawler, would make for a great Tatooine display. This would especially be the case if you were working on other custom display pieces to complete. I just ordered the Palace and could not be happier as I have been working on a MOC for the desert planet.
  12. I heard a rumor that would be 250-300 dollars. As a play set at that price point I would expect a bantha, couple tuskens, droids, and like 4 jawas.
  13. Any chance that the sandcrawler will be a May 4th set?
  14. Any chance we will see Tusken Raiders for the Sandcrawler?
  15. Can someone interpret this for me? I want in on it. I think I was able to decipher MF as microfighter, but I have no clue what the rest of the comment is referring to. Thanks. P.S. AT-AT is awesome.
  16. Why not just use the new bodies with the old heads?
  17. Well, I guess for the snowtroopers you could just buy a bunch of custom kamas from capes4minifigs.com so that the old ones blend in.
  18. For those wondering, the summer 2014 snowspeeder's wing is one stud wider on either side than the most recent release. This also means that it is at least 2 studs wider as a whole (not sure if they added width in the center area). I would also like to add that if you are considering doing an AT-AT and snowspeeder display that the 75014 snowspeeder will probably scale better with the 2014 at-at than the 2014 snowspeeder will.
  19. I know a lot of people have been complaining about re-designed characters, but unless it is a main character, I don't find any need to stress over it. With the rare exception of the snowtrooper, if they are clones, stormtroopers, hoth rebels etc, who cares if they don't all look uniformly alike. I mean, if you have the millennium falcon then you're going to want the new Chewbacca for sure. But I don't find it to be a big deal that the sandtroopers, imperial officers, and stormtroopers have been refreshed. If it's a refreshed Vader, C3-PO, Boba Fett, or Chewbacca, then I will go out of my way to get it.
  20. Gotta disagree with you there. The newer one is better in every way except for arms. Legs, chest, color scheme, head. The only reason you people think its better is because you have an awareness of the novelty of printed arms. Set the two next to eachother side by side and 9 out of 10 people will take the new one.
  21. Thanks guys just noticed it. I actually had been following this thread since page 1 and decided to ask this question a post before i read about the FTBT site. thanks!
  22. Has any site posted pictures of how the Cantina looks when closed/folded up? I find that feature to be very important.
  23. Unless they actually measured it, there is no way it could be smaller than the 2010 at-at (which even featured a separate build). It is difficult to go by memory and say something is bigger or smaller. I think the more likeliness is that it is the exact same size if not slightly bigger. What happens is when these sets are displayed in a wide open show floor, your sense of size begins to shrink. There are sets that I own that I swear seam bigger at home than they do on the lego store floor.
  24. I find it rediculous how so many people here think Disney has so much influence over what Lego does. Disney sells the license and would make a cut off the sales. I am sure the fact that the old republic sets are discontinuing has more to do with Lego than anything else. Lego's licensed sets are as profitable as the franchises are outside of Lego. I do not see the old republic has a popular line based on how the game fell below its benchmark. Second, the fact that TLG would focus more on the OT may also have to do with the fact that more people are interested in the OT than before (thanks to an Episode 7). Do not think that a licensor, who is not a shareholder, can direct TLG to do what it wants. Disney is not directing Lego to do what Disney wants. You guys need to get off the Disney bandwagon. Both Disney and Lego know that Lego knows best as to what will sell and how it shoukd be sold. Lego plans its sets in succession. It is not taking orders from Turkey, Disney, or Hezbollah.
  25. I don't think I've ever seen a star wars set with a price to brick ratio that the new AT AT Walker supposedly has. 1,132 pieces at 110 bucks? That's incredible value for a licensed Star Wars set. I'll take this info with a grain of salt. Never seen a Star Wars set go for less than 10 cents a brick. Got a few this summer wave apparently.
