Jamie finds the best ways to cheap out on us and not give us a very deep building. I guess that's what you have to do when you're a designer. Not being mean at all, he did extremely well.

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors
CardinalBricks replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Yeah, the sets look like one of the designers let their kids design the sets. The box art looks lame, too. Very poor job, Lego, one of the worst Star Wars waves. -

Slope/hinge connection
CardinalBricks replied to Dilvish's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I meant 2X1's! It can get confusing with all those technical LEGO words, lol. -

Replace one of the 2X2's with a bracket 1X2 - 2X2 and two 1X2 plates -
What is the time limit on the bricks before they're not "new" anymore?

That's probably the most effective technique I've seen for the steam coming out of the train. Studs and ice cream pieces just don't look right.

What was the last movie you watched?
CardinalBricks replied to EbonHawk's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Thor 2! Went to the midnight premiere last night, so I'm about ready to catch up on my z's... -
Ok, you have to get this set! This is definetly my favorite modular, even if it lacks in the creative techniques we're used to seeing in these. I'll admit I was reluctant to buy this at first sight, too, but then I got it and I don't regret it one bit! The build was a long and fun adventure, too. Looks fabulous from a far away view looking right at the center ! You just have to get this!!!!

[MOC:] Back to the Future DeLorean (Upgrade)
CardinalBricks replied to CardinalBricks's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Yeah, that's a good technique. I did something similar to that as a prototype, then took it apart because I thought it looked too boxy and not flat like it should be. But yours turned out well, I like it! Oh my gosh! That's a fantastic idea with that BTTF 3 engine piece on the hood. -
[MOC:] Back to the Future DeLorean (Upgrade)
CardinalBricks replied to CardinalBricks's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Yeah you're probably right, but I wanted to use that slope piece for the hood so bad!!! Plus, I wanted to add in that little dark grey strip across the front, so that was the outcome. -
Hello all! Here are a few pictures of my upgrade to The DeLorean Time Machine set. If you have an upgrade to share, put a picture below so we can all see it!

I absolutely HATE damaging my capes ! The thing I do when there is a big headpiece is find a minifigure with the exact same cape and put it on the new figure, and vice versa. The reason I do this is that the other cape bends easier, as I have had it for longer, and therefore doesn't damage it as much as the new one. Also, if you have the Palpatine's Arrest set, Kit Fisto's head mold had a slight groove in it, so it could go over the cape and the cape not get damaged. I wish TLG would do that more !

It's a good thing they have that sink the kitchen!

How do you wash your LEGO... Seriously?
CardinalBricks replied to DrJB's topic in General LEGO Discussion
That must be the problem. I should have used my brain when following the tutorial, she said to use an old toothbrush. But thanks for the tip, I'll have to try that out. -
How do you wash your LEGO... Seriously?
CardinalBricks replied to DrJB's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Ok, first of all, it's Lego! Not Legos! Sorry, just had to say that.. I really don't have anything helpful, other than DON'T use a toothbrush! I decided to follow BrickQueen's method, using a toothbrush, and cleaned my Fire Brigade with it. There is now this white residue that can't come off easily on the roof of it ! -
So we all know about TLG's design for it . So I tweaked the design and added some non-Lego parts to it, such as the wire on the back. I also changed it so you could fit 2 minifigures in it (a BIG problem on TLG's part) and painted the BTTF3 wheels. You can see the photos starting here : http://www.flickr.co...tream/lightbox/. Sorry I couldn't just put them up on here, but I ran into some problems, maybe I can't yet because I'm only a Vassal .

Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion
CardinalBricks replied to Gearslover01's topic in LEGO Town
Well, TLG's already run out of ideas for the line. I mean c'mon, a carnival, really! What are some obvious ideas they're missing? I'd say a giant snow hill with spots for snow tubing, skiing, and snowboarding. At the bottom of the hill would be a rental place and maybe a small hot chocolate shop. That would also be a wonderful treat for those of us looking for white slopes and bricks, which would be used to construct the hill. What are some other good ideas for the line?
