I can't really think of any really scary movies. The Ring was up there though. I do like the old monster movies, like Dracula, the Mummy, Frankenstein, but those aren't really that scary. Scary book, on the other hand, would have to be "It," though the movie was terrible... Steve

I really like the minfigures in the studios sets (especially the Dracula and Mummy, my two favorite movie monsters), but the set designs were a bit lacking. The Graveyard is a pretty good set too, but I can't stand the fleshtones. The Shrieking Shack, also has some useful pieces, particularly the windows and dog. But in the end, I'm going to have to vote with my first lego love: Castle. So I choose the black monarch's ghost, the original spooky (and glow in the dark) fantasy set. Plus you get some nifty doors and a fully armored knight. Steve

They crept slowly back into the main office and approached Mary's cubicle. Peering around the corner they saw Jane, another co-worker. As Jane turned around, the suddenly relieved duo were entranced by Jane's exceptionally large... -

The Adventures of Johnny Thunder 4
Athos replied to Athos's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
No worries. We all make mistakes... so what did you think of the story and building, so far? Steve -
Well the first is Bela Lugosi, who I always think of when envisioning Dracula. And the last on is Christopher Lee. I don't know the middle two. Steve

Here is another update. Yes, so soon. I'm actually on track to finish this story before the end of the year. I'm not quite sure how you mean. Graynar focuses on custom sets, while I'm just looking to tell an entertaining story. So we're each working in different universes. But whatever... :-) Steve -
The Adventures of Johnny Thunder 4
Athos replied to Athos's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Yes, I've finally gotten back to it. I hope to have it completed by the end of the month, but don't hold your breath (one, because you'd die before the month was over; and two, because I'm not good with deadlines...). http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ad...tory/pop049.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ad...tory/pop050.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ad...tory/pop051.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ad...tory/pop052.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ad...tory/pop999.jpg The whole delayed-a-saurus gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=139871 Steve -
Great (if a bit incomplete) landscaping. Where do those angled/wedge green plates come from? Steve

Before anyone goes off the deep end with excitement, I feel compelled to remind everyone, that Castle fans were told we'd have something to be happy about, then we got the KK2 mess. So don't get your hopes up too high, just yet... Steve, hope for the best, expect the worst...

I'm not nearly as impressed with the aquaraiders, as I might have been. At the same time, however, I'm not nearly as disappointed with them, as I might have been. I might pick up some of them if the pieces are good and the price is right, but its definately not a theme I will be collecting. Steve -
First off, how did I miss these? Secondly, they look pretty decent, but I'll probably pass on them. The monkey might be good if it has a lot of brown bricks. And I'll be all over that house, if the roof bricks can in a color other than red (sand blue would have been quite nice). I really don't need any more roof bricks in red (or black, for that matter.
