Nice tutorial Usually in animation, the sound dialog track is recorded first. Then you animate to that script. Their are sheets you can use or programs that will help keep the time noted so one knows which syllable is where and how the mouth is to move. Might want to story board too if you go this route. But if you have no talking and mouths to sink then you can do sound after. The time sheets can look something like this rough example: 1:00:01 | I | 1:00:02 | | 1:00:03 | Like | 1:00:04 | | 1:00:05 | ride- | 1:00:06 | ing | 1:00:07 | | 1:00:08 | my | 1:00:09 | | 1:00:10 | ni- | 1:00:11 | cy- | 1:00:11 | cle | On the right section you can draw a picture of the what the mouth would look like at that point. But this is stuff you learn later on. First thing to learn is patience. You'll need a ton of it and you'll find out if you got it when you just do a no sound video trial. :) I belong to an animation forum and I've made stop motion puppets and some simple animations. I have much to learn. Ironically I've never made a Lego stopmotion animation movie or "brickfilm" My Dr. Pickles character. Wire armature and clay head, clay feet. My mother made his pants & lab coat as she sews well. Her sister sews costumes for festivals. Next pic shows his show holes which have nuts in the shoe to insert the screw ties so that he is clamped down when animating and can't fall ober. :)

Awesomes :D I synced my iphone and updated my subscription and wasn't getting the episode. At first I thought something was wrong but I guess the show just isn't showing up on iTunes yet. Just thought I'd let you know in case you didn't know yet :) Your show is always great. I'll download it from the page link. I don't know how many iPhone users are on the board but it's great for subscribing to podcasts.

I'm going to put a bed in the back compartment of mine so that when Buzz rescues a fair maiden he can........................allow her to get a restful sleep while he navigates a safe voyage to bring her home. ;) Great review. Boy I thought the US usually got everything first but I keep seeing people post reviews on all these new 2010 sets like this set and the Toy Story sets.

What a great fun revew! :D Nice poses! You did a good job. I like the funny bits. I was really happy when I heard that Lego was doing Toy Story. We love the movies. Actually, I don't personally know anyone who doesn't. The Buzz Lightyear is great. We have a bunch of Toy Story toys at my house. I really like his head. Too bad he doesn't have knees. It's funny, when I saw his back, I thought to myself it looked boring and you said the same thing in the next paragraph lol. I still like it. The alien minifig is so cute too!

Yeah that is a weird name. Is their a factory that makes the heroes? Why is Lego discontinuing Bionicle anyway if they are a top seller? I'm always suprise to hear that they are such a big seller because I've never personally met or heard of anyone buying them. Most people don't even seem to know they exist in Lego. At least in the US. I want to buy one just to try it. I saw a video on youtube where a girl bought one for the first time. She said it was interesting and was like building your own action figure but she's not sure if she'd buy one again.

Me and my 6yrs old niece built this set last weekend. I believe this set got better review ratings then the other sets. I wonder if it was a different person who built it. I love the grumpy fish driver minifig. His head is hilarious! It would be fun and great to get a bunch of these heads and make a grumpy scene with SpongeBob fooling around in the front. I love the SpongeBob chars. I bought a bunch of the minifig packs during the black Friday Lego store sale. At the time I didn't know that they are made in China and less quality until I read people say it on the board. I have a whole bunch too including Star Wars, Pirates, and Indiana Jones for stocking stuffers. Can someone tell me if they are really that bad of quality?

Those are the same micro minifigs that I've seen people use as babies in MOCs. I believe they said they come from video game legos sets? Something like that. And now I've seen them use them in the boardgame games. I think they have them in the pyramid gameboard. I want to buy this set. When I go to the Lego shop online...or as you guys like to call it "Shop at Home" I see no gameboard sets and they definitely don't have this or the pyramid game. I guess they haven't come out yet for US?

Wow I'm kind of surprised. I had no idea their was a bunch of musicians on the board. Even a Misfits fan! I wear a Misfits cap. I played in punk and hardcore punk bands on stage when I was younger in a band called Innocent Youth which was inspired by New York style hardcore punk. Sadly I don't really have any pictures of shows we did. I have a picture where I sang for another band for a short period. I produce now. Soakin up a lot of money in gear. I go by Grimm. It is my real last name. It's electronica and CD just came out a few months ago. I did a photoshoot for it but I think that's enough pics for now. I also go to a lot of shows and get VIP tix, meet a lot of bands. If you add me to myspace you can see more of that or check out my videos on youtube. I have a bunch more I'm editing but I've been lazy to put them up. I have been working on Lego song. Trying not to make it sound cheesy. I noticed that lots of Lego vids were losing their audio track for ownership rights claim reasons. So I wanted to make one they could use. I don't care if anyone uses my stuff, it helps me when they do it's free promotion. I've been meaning to make a post about it. It's still in beta version unfinished but here is what I got so far. I saw this listed as news on the front page. So this is just only NOW going to air on Brit tv? I saw a whole bunch of videos on youtube about this a couple months ago or something like that after I read an article about it. I had never even heard of this guy. Then I found out he has a show on British tv about toys or something so I downloaded a season but haven't watched it yet. I previewed an episode and it seemed very interesting. American tv often copies a lot of British TV shows so I won't be surprised if they make a US version. I only recently learned that US shows like "Three's Company," "All in the Family," and even "Jackass," and some others were all taken from British show versions. I heard they were going to do a couple Lego shows so maybe that is it.

I'm from the Boston area and one thing I learned fast while apartment hunting through Craiglist is that you have to be very careful on those deals that sound too good to be true and have bad spelling grammer. Their are Cartels and people who run scams from other countries like Russia and Africa. They put ads up and act like they are renting a place out then try to get you to wrestern union them a check or mail it. They say they are away on vacation and all kinds of stuff. The other day I did get a good deal on a Lego set though, new too!

Welcome Clement! Saw you post in my newbie technic thread. I've never owned technic sets but I've played with some of the pieces since they come in some sets such as the Winter Toy Shop. I never really liked the Technic sets but now with the Power Functions motors and all that, I want to get into the area where I can use some technic with regular Lego like many of you use in your trucks. I never liked the way technic sets look like someone used a machine gun on them. They have holes and gaps everywhere. Looks like I need to order some of those technic bricks that have studs on top for fixing plates on to. I'm still deciding on a set. I want to have something to build in Christmas like a remote control truck vehicle.

Hey there Clement welcome! I love the trucks on that site. I've been watching a bunch of the youtube videos linked from the trucks there. A lot of youtube vids have their truck vids with links pointing to the site. About the Technic pieces with studs, yeah that's what I rather have so I can connect plates and other regular lego parts. I was just checking out my big box of Lego sets (I got over $500 in Lego unopened. Some I'm selling) and I was checking out my Power Functions kit and realized that it only comes with 1 motor! I thought it came with 2! I guess it only comes with a set of lights, battery box, 1 motor. The Mars Mission Reaper needs 2 motors and most of the other sets will need a total of at least 2 motors to do fun things. I need to order more rechargeable and I need a IR receiver. P/S I included a pic of what I got so far. I bought the car thinking I could use it's motor receiver block to make other nice vehicles but you can't really use big wheels on it and also with holding only 3 batteries it's kind of slow. The wheels on it by default, on the back, just barely clear from hitting the back fender.

I have a question I've been thinking about for a while...and while watching some youtube vids I say another person make the same comment...If the rock monsters are bad guys who live underground and eat crystals, and the good guys are invading underground to take crystals for use as power, then isn't it backwards? The rock monsters didn't do anything to the good guys. The good guys are invading there land and stealing there resources!

Heya all. I've been reading a lot and watching a lot of youtube videos on the subject and I have seen some amazing creations! I even went to the Lego Store and was there for almost an hour but was so indecisive that I didn't get anything for myself, just bought some Christmas presents like the like the Agents 2.0 4 wheeling pursuit for my brother and my niece. I love the huge cars for a minifig. The power miners sets are big vehicles too. That's why I really like the Crystal Reaper. I read the review here on it and was laughing at how weird it is. It is powered by an alien jelly guy! The vehicle has an onboard lab with the UGLY alien strapped, having the life sucked out of it by a pump tube attached! How distrubing! but it needs some mods because the weight of the battery box makes it fall back tipy side. I'd probably make it one single vehicle. Everything is getting sold out on the official online Lego store. The $150 Crane Truck 8258 is selling online for crazy prices now but they still had it in store. If I got that I'd try to turn it into a regular truck. I don't understand what the point of it having stabilizers before it is even motorized. I would think it would be more fun for a kid to have it RC instead of these outriggers that seem kinda boring to me. You know what I really like, is the trucks people have in their sigs. Like those "trial trucks" and this . See how it doesn't look like it got shoot with a machine gun and doesn't have hundreds of holes everywhere? That's what I like. lol I'm guessing that truck prob costs hundreds to make though.I got the Brickstore program so I'm playing with that to learn it. I also am playing with the LeoCAD and MLCAD programs. Meanwhile I've been watching out for good deals. With Christmas time around everything is selling like crazy. Only good thing left on the official Lego Shop is the Off Roader 8297 $120. With all the power functions out now, why don't they have promos about turning vehicles into RC like the big power miners vehicles? When I read about the The Mars Crystal Reaper, most people didn't even know it had info in the instructions on how to add power functions. It doesn't even say it on the box! Okay here are me and my 6 yrs old niece's little humble army. (The word humble is fitting for a small army. I like how someone else introduced theirs earlier that way :) ) If you're wondering why the Dwarves & Orcs are friends, it's because my niece doesn't like them being enemies. lol When I try to make the Orcs attack the mine and steal the gold, she makes the Dwarves give up some gold to get them to stop attacking and we end up coming to a deal where the Orcs work to guard the mine while the Dwarves mine and then they both split the gold, silver, jewels. So they are all friends. The Troll Warship is huge! Or rather long! It is 5 brown board pieces long! All from the 2 Castle Sets: Dwarves Mines & Troll Warship 7 Orcs 5 Dwarves 2 Big Trolls (I think they look like Ogres) 1 Crownie Knight Comments Welcome

Great review. When I first heard of the Atlantas set, I didn't think it would do well. I didn't think their was much going foran underwater theme in these times. But seeing a few different reviews on sets they look interesting. I think the Squidman looks more like a Squidwoman when the head isn't showing. The bottom looks like a skirt growing into tenticles especially in the sideview this seems more apparent. Then the hair area from a side or back view looks like a woman's hair tied back turning into tenticles. I like the figure. It's too bad that it's the rubbery material. On ebay I bought the Harry Potter set with Dobbie because I really wanted him and then when I got him I was a little disappointing that his head was a rubbery material.

There is a ghost in there! Is he haunting the soldiers? Or maybe he has a deal with the soldiers to haunt their foes? I like him. I want a ghost! EDITUpon closer inspection of the ghost's face, I see that it's really a man under a sheet. Ahaa! So he is a soldier too but he has the task of pretending to be a ghost to scare the foes! I get it now! :) I'll post my army tomorrow. I got 2 Castle sets and I love the figures.
