Very nice. I left you a comment and 5 rating Nice to see some people using micro controllers. Did you build that one from scratch or is it one of those built from a kit from online? You mentioned it is remote control, where did you buy it from? I want to replace the Infer Red Power Functions control system with a Radio Frequence Remote Control but I was just going to buy one of those cheap mini RC RF cars as they only cost $10-20. Then rip out the RC functions.

This set sold out online like crazy! I'm definitely getting it for the minifigs. The gold knight is awesome. I love the queen's annoyed looking expression it is hilarious! I laughed when someone used it in a small moc as a woman opening to door at night looking annoyed. And the Jester is awesome and his poor sad tearful heartfelt expression makes you say, "awe what's the matter little guy?" Has that face ever been seen before?

A fun fact about KK2 you probably don't know...

The Jelly Bean Knights lol I like the name. Why were they called the Jelly Bean Knights?? Ot's even funnier then Brickbeard the Pirate's name. -
You forgot to add too many people looking for easy ways of getting rich :) We have a big problem with this in the Untied States. We have a litigious society. I can tell you lots of stories about people getting sued and not taking responsibility for themselves or their kids. We had a mother in New Hampshire who wasn't paying attention to the road while driving. She had a small child in the passenger seat instead of safely in the back seat. While playing with the radio and looking down, she got into a bad accident. Obviously her fault. Well she sued the car manufacturer and then went on to make a new law that states kids a certain age and height sitting in the front passenger seat must require a booster seat. We have so many laws it's taking away our freedom. It's common sense that a parent keep a child safely seated in the backseat and use a booster seat when needed. The lady never took responsibility. My friend's mother who has some major issues of her own, did the same thing as that other lady except also spilled hot coffee on her lap. She sued the car manufacturer because when the car slammed into tree, the seat broke and bent forward. I personally would not be surprised if I slammed into a tree and my car parts broke off. She got a ton of money and my friend got a messed up nose and plastic surgery which left a weird awful hanging skin wrinkle on his face. She also never took responsibility. It is unfortunate. A lot of things get banned from people not taking responsibility for themselves. Lots of scenarios with parents blaming everything but themselves. Which is why the government feels it has to come in and do some parenting for them now. I don't like it but I can understand why.

How long do you think this set will be selling for? How much longer do you think the Brickbeard Bounty Ship will be up for? I haven't bought Brickbear's Bounty yet but I plan to in Jan but then that is when this Imperial Flagship one is released. Do you think it will sell out right away?

I've never made any lights specifically for Lego but I have played with electronics a lot and if it helps to say, setting up LED lights is pretty basic electronics. Not much to know except some common sense things such as making sure you use the correct amount of voltage for the light you use and don't connect a positive to positive especially if you are using wall voltage! I don't know where you are from but I'm from the US and one of the popular online stores is http://www.mouser.com/ Mouser Electronics. Radio Shack is a popular store but too expensive and doesn't carry much. If you are going to be doing more electronics or just LED setups in the future and ordering from online, might as well get yourself the following: (You might already have these around the house) 2 alligator clips A small roll of red wire for positive A small roll of black wire for negative/ground A breadboard so that you can temporarily insert wiring components into to test (without this & alligator clips, you will be fighting around trying to hold all items together onto batteries to see if the lights work. Or trying to tape things together with cheap scotch tape and you will see that won't work well) Their is more things such as black tape and wire cutters but I thought I'd give you a small list for now so that you don't end up spending money on shipping just for a couple LED lights. For wire you don't need a thick gage because you will be working with low voltages. WEBSITES "Make Magazine" and "Instructables" is great and there is also a New York LED Graffiti group that has projects on those sites. They have Do It Yourself projects such as this. You will bump into them if you search for LED Lights projects. Make Magazine also has a youtube channel and so if you search youtube for "Make LED Lights" or "Make Magazine LED" you will find a bunch of great projects to build! When I first found those DIY project sites, I spent hours on them! They are full of information and easily help you get started working with PCBs. You might find yourself making flashing LED lights and their are a bunch of people on the site that have used Lego bricks in their projects

I've learned to have patience long ago when I first starting ordering over the internet. I buy 90% of my stuff from online since it is almost always cheaper in price. When I was younger I would lose sleep over being so exited waiting my packages arrival such as my Jackson guitar. I remember the day I ordered that I was 14 years old working at Dunkin Donuts for months saving. When I went to the bank I was telling everyone what I'm doing with the money I was taking out lol. I was so exited! I'd watch out the window for the UPS man. When he finally came I was jumping up and down it was such a big box that he had trouble carrying it to my street since the truck couldn't come on it due to tons of snow. Of course I was exited to tell him it was a guitar but not just any guitar. It was a professional Jackson Stealth HX with 3, yes 3, humbucking pickups! So anyway, now I am so accustom to packages coming that I can even sometimes wait with it in my room unopened, saving it for when my niece comes over as she loves opening my packages and doing unboxing videos with me. One good way to pass the time, I find is, watching movies. You get into the movie so much and it is 2 hours that go by. If you really want to burn time, download a full season of survivor or Big Brother! OMG it's addicting watching those. I won't download a whole season anymore. I did it twice and found it difficult to shut off after a couple hours. You just want to know what happens next and who leaves and all the dumb drama is entertaining. lol and this is coming from a person who hates tv and calls it the brainwashing tube.

Well I just got back into Lego since childhood and I really haven't decided what to do with them so they are still together with instructions inside as well as the emptied bags. If I get rid of them then I will definitely put them in the recycling bin. I like to be green when I can. The reason I haven't thrown them out yet is because they look so nice and from what I see on ebay, Lego used sets sell a little better with the original box and instructions together. I don't think I will sell them though. And with this thread helping me decide what to do with them now, tomorrow I'll either cut them up and save them or just throw them in the recycling bin and save the instructions. We already have too much junk in the basement piling up. You wouldn't believe how crazy it is down there.

LMAO! "moral-less hellion" I'm sure I could find a way too but like you, I wouldn't want to steal from Lego, one of the remaining big comapies that have good morals and care about the family unit and people. Now if it was Walmart on the other hand... On another note, some speaking of the Mars Mission Crystal Reaper, we just built ours and it is a really nice vehicle. The Power Functions receiver and extra motor I needed will arrive in the mail soon. :)

'Behind The Helm' Episode #17 - Christmas Special
Grimmy replied to Captain Zuloo's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Heehee glad you like the pics I know I have a couple posts in the thread already but wanted to add that I think this was one my fav episodes I heard so far and that the Winter Toy Shop is my fav Lego set ever! As much as I like so many sets I see, I know when I see something I will love for a long time. I don't plan on taking it apart, though I may make it a double decker like the guest made and posted in the Winter Toy Shop pic thread. I've heard other people say this as well but it's true that visitors to the house are always curious about our Lego Toy Shop scene and my niece loves explaining everything and showing who is the toy maker and what everyone is doing. Every person in that scene is doing something interesting. I've heard a lot of people mention that Lego designer's name Jamie. I didn't know he was from Boston too! We just had a storm and like 10 inches of snow last week! He was so spot on with his thoughts and creative reasons for what he did in the set and why. I really enjoyed listening to you two asking him those interesting questions. I think what makes this set so awesome and the reason it sold out so fast is because it has a bunch of both little great small details as well as big features with a fun look. The Winter Holiday theme itself is great. You got the unique tree with Jamie's mother decorating it on a ladder ;) Then the Jack-in-the-box using the jester head. The lights that use Sandie's head helmet thing, look great and reminiscent of the Boston downtown city lights. I wonder if those inspired him. The city is nicely decorated at this time. The carolers are great minifigs and have a great appearance from the face to the top hat and black cape to the books. I can go on forever about it. The little boy with the helmet is a curious character and one that makes people giggle and smile as he seems to be afraid of the cat and throws snowballs. I love his expression. Me and my 6 yrs old niece had fun adding the Advent Calendar daily prizes to the Winter Toy Shop scene near of Christmas Tree. All the things went so well with what came out of each door. We have the Ice Skater rental booth renting Ice Skates to people skating in front of the shop area. Then we have some kids having snowball fights and others racing remote control cars. We put Santa and his sleigh on the roof of the Toy Shop. The present went under the tree of course. It was just great. The other guest that was on there was a good guest too. EDIT I had trouble understanding some of what he said too. I remember seeing his department store moc and it is one of my faves I've seen on here. He is very good. -
What do they do to the free PAB Box so that they know it has been used? Do they stamp it or punch a hole in the bar code? Just curious how it works as I have not brought mine in yet and I'd like to keep the box. It's a really nice box printed inside with shelves and outside looks like a house. From what you wrote it sounds like you got to keep yours and filled it. I was thinking they take it and give you a small cup to fill. But I guess not. So the question remains, what prevents someone from coming back and getting a free refill.

I know it's been say many times but I have to add as well, that the civilian minifigs are awesome. They are great for Brick films especially. I like the robot too. I have a few Agents 2.0 sets and I like the minifigs both good guys and bad guys especially the hair. But this pack is really nice with the average city people. The guy with the Hawaiian shirt is kool.
-
I love the Squidman and that is the same reason I got this set! He is one of my fav Lego minifigs. I thought my niece would like him too but she doesn't like the bad guys lol. I tried to make him rob her (she uses the Lego Indy blond princess) car in front of her pink Lego bricks house and she made Squidman stop doing bad things and share his 100 dollar bill and have tea.

Now taking YOUR ideas for NEW PARTS - LAST DAYS!
Grimmy replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Pirates
I just would like to point out the ones I liked most. Coming from someone back into Lego from childhood. :) Wig (White Powder wigs as seen in Pirates of the Carrabean) Small scale treasure chest/Jewel case Like David Thomsen drew up. I can see these being used in Pirate themes, Atlantis, and Belleview. Looks like an engagement ring box. Compass As mentioned often, it would be nice to see the compass back. *One of the most things I want though, and I know many power functions people want it, is real wireless remote control i.e. RF controller and receiver. I can't understand why they went IR (Infer Red instead of Radio Frequency) My only guess is that it may be because of airwave laws and they might not have wanted to go through the trouble of getting any special licenses that may be needed to sell such a product in the US. IR doesn't work well outside in sunlit areas as well as areas where visual light signal are lost when a vehicle goes under or around objects. -
That was good. I left you a great rating and comment. TheFutureLooksGrimm is me. If you ever need some voices I can help you with or sounds lemme know. I have a bedroom studio and nice studio mics. I can do voices and I have a female friend who can do awesome cartoon voices when I can get her in to record.

Looks nice. I can tell it is a printed sticker on the torso because of where the torso meets the legs piece, you can see a wavy area of the sticker from pushing up against the legs waist area.
-
lol funny pun! I wonder how many besides myself, read the subject subtitle as "sub-title message" rather then "sub-tile message" heehee. Looks like Indy has found a map under that tile. That MOC looks like a nice start of a Lego Indy adventure comic. Panel number 1 finished.

Heya, thank you for the replies on my questions concerning the quality of the SpongeBob (and others) magnet minifig packs. It actually explains and answers some other minifigs me and my niece had. We did the build-a-fig thing where you build one and put them into a pack of 3. Well strangely the female minifig's hair kept coming off. It would not stay put. Always loose and my poor 6 year old niece was always having to put it back on. I was thinking of dabbing a little hot glue to keep it on but now we have plenty of other minifigs so we just don't use that one anymore. She has a nice dress printed torso front and back. I noticed that she has the Lego logo printed under her armpit which from another thread I read, means it was made in China? I definitely have noticed that some minifigs have much better quality then others. EDIT After making this little comic pic here, I learned that it is the stud on top of her head that has weak clutch power. We will find her a good happy smiling head and she will be good to go!

Heya Joey Lock. I think I understand what you mean. I saw that episode of Everybody Knows Raymond. My mother would sometimes get you what she wanted you to look like or wear or be and many times be dismissive and not listen to me. Well, the best advice I can give you is to try and stay positive. Look on the bright side of things because you don't want to walk around upset. It's tough to put away the negative thoughts but you have opened up and talked about how you felt so it should be easier now to deal with. If you got some things you did like, try and be happy for that. Hey I got gift cards and some underwear in a box! That means I got nothing for Christmas (except the Lego sets I put under the tree myself) and my presents will have to be bought some other day and one of the cards is Dunkin Donuts. But you know what I did, swallowed my pride, and said, "thanks for the V-neck under shirts I needed some, as well as the socks and boxer shorts." I did need those V neck shirts for when I wear my V neck pull overs my under shirt won't show. And most of my socks had holes in them and mysteriously disappear. One thing I've learned when I was younger is that if I walked around upset, it didn't matter what the reason was, people would see me as a cranky scrooge. After reading a bunch of selfhelp guides, it helped me try to be positive. Remember, someone is always a lot worse off then me or you (and I had a horrible rough childhood believe me). So as tough as it is, hang in there and try to keep positive. You don't want to be visited by 3 ghosts do you? Now for at least 5min try doing this: Go open that phography book and look trough it. Look at the art and see if it inspires you to build something. See what good things you can get out of it. I used to do photography and was actually hoping to get a Cannon Rebel T1 for myself but I didn't. I'll get it eventually. I'm guessing the remote control helicopter you got was one o those mini IR ones that aren't very controllable in what direction they go. They are still fun though at least for a little bit. Make the best out of what you got. Goodluck Joey

You mean like one of these

What do you mean by a "Winter Toy Shop PaB box full of parts" ? I got the Winter Toy Ship. My fav Lego set ever! I wish I got 2 so that I could have made a double decker like someone did in the thread that asks for people to post picks of their Winter Toy Shop. I've also gotten Pick a Brick cups. They are fun. But what is a Winter Toy Shop Pick a brick? Did you mean you got a bunch of pick a brick cups and poured them into the Winter Toy Shop box? Or do they have some special Winter Toy Shop PaB box? I've only recently learned that in Legolands they have Pick a Brick boxes or crates or tubs.

I'm kind of glad to see someone besides me that is frustrated. You were obviously waiting to get that out and many times it is good to talk to someone and let things out so that you don't walk around angry ready to explode. The only thing I got for Christmas that I wanted, was whatever I put under the tree myself. Which was a tip I got from another guy on the forum in the thread asking what you expect under the tree this year. Good thing I used his idea too! Otherwise all I would have is a few gift cards and underwear. (I hate gift cards too! Did you know that 15% of gift cards in the U.S. go unclaimed and accounts for a total of 5 billion dollars in the year! The gift card company USA Gift Cards makes it a point to tell clients that by selling gift cards, they will make tons of money on the unclaimed money alone! I'm the kind of person that rather have a low priced gift that is me then a high priced gift that is not me. I told my mother I'd be happy with a Lego Technic set and 5 boxes of the fruit oatmeal (it goes fast in this house and I never get to eat my fave flavor) I have an Amazon.com wishlist no one ever makes use of. So some might say, "well it's the thought that counts" well what thought do you mean? From what I seen in my house and family it is more like, "I don't feel like driving anywhere to shop for someone so I'm going to get a gift card while I'm out wherever and that's it I'm done I don't care" or my mom who buys my 6 year old niece toys she will never play with while plenty of poor kids would love to have them. My niece got an insane amount of things. 90% of it she won't play with. She will use the Hannah Montanna accoustic guitar we both got her and my brother got her a Gameboy DS with a game! She's only 6 yrs old! Is that normal? I have heard 8 yrs olds have cell phones now so maybe it is. I say to my mom, "The guitar we got her is more then enough. Why did you buy 4 more presents she won't use? If you wanted to get more, why didn't you get her the Pixos Craft set she has been begging for instead? or a Lego set?" My mom says well if she don't like it, then too bad! My mom needs a new car bad but never has money. Buys my niece new clothes every week, full outfits. You can't buy love I tell her. I think it's too bad that a toy goes unused and money gets wasted. Their is a lot more but I'll spare you all. When I get people a gift, people who I have known all my life, I get them something that shows I know them. I go and do whatever is needed to give a good surprise gift they will enjoy! My mother could have easily drove 17min to the mall Lego store and bought any one of the sets she seen me pickup in there. I wanted to make this comic using 2 Lego men. One Lego minifig has a bunch of presents in panel one. In Panel 2 you see he has opened them with a smile on his face he has a train and toy robot. He asks the 2nd Lego minifig, "So what did you get for Christmas?" and as he stands holding a small stack of gift cards he says, "They felt obligated to get something but couldn't be bothered. Looks like I'll have to get my gifts another day. Gift Cards...bah!" My mother says to me, save those gift cards for someday when you go out and need them. On the bright side I did get some good chocolate in my stocking that I really like. I love Lindor and Ghirardelli bars. Expensive but good. I'll post some pics in the received Christmas presents thread of what I got for myself on Christmas and put under the tree. P/S Not to be making you more upset, but I have an iPhone 3Gs which is just like the iPod Touch but with phone functions, and I live by the thing! They are awesome because of the amount of apps available. An app for everything! I use it for so much stuff. Pocasts, games, music, appointments I never miss are due to this thing. Just save your money. The stuff you don't like and won't use, sell, or ask to return if possible to ask your mom without hurting her feelings. :)

'Behind The Helm' Episode #17 - Christmas Special
Grimmy replied to Captain Zuloo's topic in General LEGO Discussion
It's up there now! :D -
I get the dark greys and black mixed up sometimes too. I wish they put a letter G or something under the part in the parts list box. Since I've come back to Lego I learned after building the Winter Toy Shop to make sure you follow the box parts list first so that you don't put the wrong part in. For days me and my niece weren't sure if we lost 4 green 2x4 plates or if they were missing. I went over the tree build a bunch of times then found out I put in those 2x4 plates instead of 2x3 plates. So from now on I never start building from the instructions on the page right away. I follow the instructions as they are and put together the parts list first.
