83a I started building the HMS Prince of Wales on the 1st of November 2008. Now, almost 6 months later the project is finally finished. The ship is build on 7 standard mid hull sections and has around 160 meters of rope for the rigging. Special thanks to Captain Green Hair for his very valuable advise, assistance and donating the cloth for the sails. Also thanks to Errorist for helping out with the stern during our building session in Amsterdam with CHG and some of the rigging. Thanks to HMS243 for the idea to build little toilets in the bow and to Zorro for helping us sort some bricks during the building session in Belgium. Now I'll shut up and let the pictures speak. Comments are welcome The BS gallery

Sure, I've given you access. -
It's Saturday in Europe, and we were asked to wait till Saturday, GMT. That's the last off-topic thing I want to read about this, honestly, I'm getting tired of this.
-
There are no real WIP pics, just some I've shown to the Captain. I think I'll wait until the ship is ready to present it in all it's glory
-
From now on this thread is about the sets and nothing else like I asked before. Don't bother to post about anything else, it's a waste of effort! I'll get rid of any off-topic posts from this point on.

The more versions we have the better
-
The time has come to revive this thread. First of all, I find the shape and look of these Xebec ships amazing. The Lego version of Captain Green Hair is equally amazing! Why do I revive this thread? Aha, I'm working on a new version of this Xebec. I wasn't the original builder (that was CGH), but I'll be using his ship as a basis for my version, that's why I'm calling it version 2.0 What will I change compared to this ship? 1. I'll make it one mid section longer 2. I'll add tumblehome. 3. The stern will be a little bit longer. 4. Some modifications to the rigging Modifications 1,2 and 3 will make the ship more sleek/streamlinked. I'm making good progress on the ship, but I need to wait now for a large BL order to arrive before I can continue building. Finishing this shouldn't take half a year like my other ship "HMS Prince of Wales".

EB is an evolving website. Noticed the huge amounts of professional set reviews we are producing? Like the reviews of the upcoming Indy sets or the Emerald Night for example. A year ago EB only produced 10% the amount of set reviews we have today, so that's a big evolution. News was and always will be an important aspect of this website, but occasionally something like this can happen when we get a request from TLC. Anyway, let's discuss the sets or wait one day and discuss them tomorrow when the pics are restored.
-
@Gylman, The Green Brick Giant, CP5670, and some others: It's really simple! Some pictures where posted on EB which TLC will be revealing at an event this Saturday (tomorrow). TLC asked us to remove them till Saturday not to spoil the surprise for their event. Now we could say 2 things: Yes or No. We said yes and will post the pics back tomorrow. Is that such a big deal? You'll see them 2 days later. That doesn't mean we're sucking up TLC, not at all. It means we are reasonable people who answered in a nice way to a polite question. We can debate on and on about this, but there's nothing more to it than what I just said.

Well, I'm leaving for an assignment in the Middle East, so I won't be home the coming days to take pics. Besides, I want to make a nice setup with a big white sheet as background and the perfect light. And since the ship is rather high and long I'm still fingering out how and where to do it.

Dutch VOC ship the Prins Willim, minifig scale!
Bonaparte replied to Captain Green Hair's topic in Pirate MOCs
It's amazing Captain to see this project of yours grow. Especially the first picture shows the perfect line of this beautiful VOC ship -
Aha, a secret project . I'd love to see some pics! All finished. I'm already working on my next ship Now I just need to make a setup and take good pictures.

I'll provide our logo soon. Sorry for answering this late.

I just love this scene Fantastic review Svelte!

Your ship it turning out very well! Besides Paul's suggestion (post above) I have another one: I would put the middle window one plate higher. That way there will be a bit more shape in the stern (if you see what I mean). Now all lines are a bit too straight.

REVIEW: Indiana Jones 7197 - Venice Canal Chase
Bonaparte replied to Svelte's topic in LEGO Licensed
Till now I've only been buying a selection of the Indy sets because because they had great parts and figs (Motorcycle Chase) or simply because it a great set (Lost Tomb). However, this set has it all! Fantastic minifigs and minifig accesories, great parts (I love the tan and dark colors) and overall it's a well designed set. A must buy both for Indy fans, collectors and MOC'ers. Thanks a lot Svelte for you hard labor. This review is outstanding! -
Yes, they are real

Welcome at Eurobricks pirate_cat! It's great to have the creator of this fine MOC amongst up. -
Some good pictures showing the boxes of the upcoming Indy sets where found by our member Skipper 24. Discuss here

It would be nice if we could find some pictures of historical uniform having black epaulets. I've been wondering about this myself ever since I saw the black epaulets. Didn't think about the birds, that's another great way to use them!

This is indeed a brave attempt to make a decent ship on those hulls. Once I did see another one on these hulls which I liked a lot. Looking at the pics in the BS folder I've discovered some interesting details of the ship. But of course the sails give this ship a bit extra. They look very much alive and real. Nice find!

Hola, this is some amazing work! And I love all the scenes and pictures on your MOCpages. How long have you been into Napoleonic army customization?
