The roof is awesome! Same goes for the colors you've used in this MOC: dark blue, medium blue, reddish brown, white, tan, ... are all great new(er) colors that I love experimenting with myself. Using the droid legs for the fence is something I haven't seen done before and it looks great, so does the spaghetti

Not the usual MOC one would expect in the Pirates forum, that's for sure, but it's a nice and sleek ship! The skull on the stern looks really mean and dangerous About the story, I really wonder how you made that up. Did you just start writing and this story came out? It's a bit a weird story, but I enjoyed reading it

At this point in time the natives where just surprised and curious, the sad and disappointed faces came soon after. Thanks! I also say and loved Apocalypto. It would be great if more historical movies where made. But I had never heard about that movie "The Mission" so I did some checking and this might be one I really have to watch. The hunt for it's DVD has started! I'm a huge fan of the Spanish sub-theme. Too bad we didn't get any decent sets, but we did get those awesome figs. My most favorite one is the Spanish soldier with the little metal plate under his head (the ones on the left and right in this MOC). I just love their torso's and their awesome helmet Thanks! It's nothing compared to your large entry beach side creation though. But since I'm planning some land based MOCs (as soon as I finish 2 more ships) I used this opportunity to experiment with some techniques I've seen in several MOCs already but never tried myself (like the snot water, beach, making realistic looking vegetation). Thanks! I kinda expected your entry to be like it was, but it still looks weird in the Pirates forum

The Eurobricks Reviewers Academy

Granted! That pic looks promising -
When the Spanish conquistador Hernán Cortés de Monroy y Pizarro, 1st Marqués del Valle de Oaxaca landed on the shores of the Aztec Empire, the end of paradise was near. Spanish infantry is arriving on the beaches while Cortés oversees the operation accompanied by his dogs. Aztec natives are watching the arriving conquistadors from the jungle. * Credit to the ones who invented snot water and brick build birds (I have no clue who first invented these but I guess SlyOwl has something to do with the birds).

I will definately come to the EB Event!

Yes, definitely! -
I'd only buy this set for it's parts. But the set is not the reason for me posting a reply, it's the standout review that did it. Your review is of a quality worth of a reviewers academy teacher! Your pics are perfect (clean background, focused, ...) and the review has a perfect layout (intro, comments for each pic, summary at the end). I've given you access to the reviewers academy, not because need any training, but just so you can have a look around as you obviously have an interest in making reviews

I like the behind and roof of this car more than the Dennimator version but for the front I choose the one from Dennimator. Maybe you guys can make a 3rd version combining the best of both MOCs Overall, an impressive result! And I love the color.
-
Especially the view from the front of the car is very impressive. Having a father that owns 5 Beetles I've seen probably more Beetles than the average person on this planet. Modifying a piece to build the behind is a bit unusual (and something I usually try to avoid), but I'm not a purist so great job overall

'Behind The Helm' Episode #17 - Christmas Special
Bonaparte replied to Captain Zuloo's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Wonderful x-mas special. It's great to hear the voice of Svelte and hear him talk about the reviewers academy, his motivation for doing the awesomest reviews, his MOCs and love for the darker and tan colors. The insight of Jamie on the Winter Toy Shop set was very enlightening. I love to hear about the design process and how the decisions were made to reach the amazing end result we all know as the 10199 Winter Toy Shop. -
Searching for Obi-Wan's starfighter
Bonaparte replied to Darth Legolas's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
You should provide a lot more information before starting a topic like this one. - A picture of what you are looking for (get one from BL for example). - Do you want to trade? - Buy? - Should it include a box, instructions, ... ? - ... I'll leave this open for a bit so you have the chance to add more info in the first post. -
Now taking YOUR ideas for NEW PARTS - LAST DAYS!
Bonaparte replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Pirates
I like your chest suggestion and you've went through the trouble of making some excellent drawings to show exactly what you have in mind. There's one slide in the pack already for your chest suggestion This is another suggestion that I've already included in the slidepack as it was requested by several members (and it would indeed be nice to have). -

There's a very good technique developed by Captain Green Hair to widen the standard hull. Have a look in this thread. -

Steve Witt of the LEGO Community team promised he'll make sure our input gets given to the right people internally when we make a presentation for the new part suggestions. That's why I'm currently creating such a presentation based on the inputs in this thread. I can't just include everything, but when an idea is suggested or liked by several members it gets listed for sure. I'm planning to deliver the presentation in January 2010 and maybe a second presentation near the end of my term as ambassador (June 2010). -
I'm back into Castle now The new sets have a great classic look. The good old days are finally back! And thank God for dumping the skeletons, dwarfs, trolls, etc

Welcome at Eurobricks! Like yourself, I started collecting (most of) the old pirate sets 15 years after their original release.

You can see things different and have your own opinion, but sarcasm we don't appreciate. And the post I quoted (first one) is a good example of the kind of sarcasm we don't like much because it creates a negative atmosphere. Thanks for keeping that in mind during future discussions and posts.

Pillage the Village II - VOTING - Large Category
Bonaparte replied to Erdbeereis's topic in Pirate MOCs
It's really very hard voting when there are so many outstanding entries. I've been having a very close look at all the detailed pics for all the entries to reach a decision. Here we go: Kris Kelvin: 3 Points Derfel Cadarn: 1 points Maydayartist: 1 point Cap'n Blackmoor: 1 point I Scream Clone: 1 point
