Announcement! Classic-Pirates.com has a position!
Bonaparte replied to Zorro's topic in LEGO Pirates
That should be ok, one can start slowly in January getting to know how it all goes. The source for our blog is for 95% our own forum and what gets posted on this forum. Yes, that is possible. -

You should see the academy forum on top of the forum list. -
That's indeed what I think will happen. They'll slowly disappear from stores and all be gone around mid 2010. Of course, the wonderful Imperial Flagship will still be there, not in the stores, but available via S@H, think positive

Indeed: The entry thread is only for when your MOC is completely ready, so you can make first a thread in the MOC forum (like this one) to get feedback and improve the MOC before posting in the entry thread. This is a very nice start of the community build Admiral! The outside of the building looks very nice and the different colors of gray reduce the gray wall effect. You do need to find a way to focus your pictures better, some are rather blurry. Joining the reviewers academy could help you because there you get training on taking sharp pictures.

The interest in the Pirates community build has been overwhelming and there are only a few more spots available on the map. If you still want in, hurry over to the registration topic. For those who already participated, based on suggestions of our members we've done some minor updates to the rules and guidelines, please read them again so you get the latest info. For all of you who don't know what a community build is: The staff/volunteers make a list of different buildings that would comprise a town of the late 1700's. Then, each person chooses a building that they would like to build. Once built, all what you have to do is take some pics of the entry, post it and you're done. Simple as that.

I think there are still some empty spots in the list that need to be filled, so it's not too late yet.
-
Thanks Doc! If you provide me your IBAN/BIC I don't mind sending you the cash for mine already.
-
That's 7 if it's still possible to include mine
-
I'd love one Doc if I'm not too late already. If you have IBAN/BIC I don't mind at all to pay in advance. That might even be more convenient for me. We'll have a bunch of space in the the car. I'm picking up the Doc on my way over and because we'll only be 3 people (myself, Zorro and the Doc) we can transport quite some sets.

You can see one in pic 2 and 3, right under the monkey's head

I will definately come to the EB Event!
Bonaparte replied to Ras 74's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
That's the best decision you've made in 2010! Glad to hear you are coming -
Soldiers can get hurt too, but most probably such invalids were used for kitchen and other duties. Can you please resize your pic. The maximum we allow is 800x600px. Thanks!

Let's continue to use the other topic pointed out by Peppermint_M. I'll close this one now and merge it in a day or so with the other one.

Let's use our official Happy New Year thread for more best wishes.

I agree, but I didn't have enough tan tiles They are scheduled to be ordered with some on my next BL order! Yup, I was thinking the same when seeing the pics. In real life the jungle looks more dark which makes the Islanders look more hidden but on the pics the effect is different with all the light. If I wasn't so lazy I'd have added some vegetation and re-take the pics.

REVIEW: 7078 King's Battle Chariot
Bonaparte replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Two days ago I saw this set being on sale (-50%) in Marko shop and couldn't resist buying it for only 10 euro. I still have to open the box but then some higher power must have put this great review right on top of our History forum. I'm very pleasantly surprised seeing the amazing torso of the king, I had no idea what was underneath the armor Both the figs and the parts (dark blue, pearl gold) are the best features of this set! And my thanks to Clone O'Patra for making this perfect review! TLG should be thankful there are guys like yourself making reviews for their products. -

It's still very readable when resized to 800x600px, I know because I checked! Unless you want to be a slaughtered sheep you better make sure they are according to our site guidelines. -
Nice design. Simple and easy to build, but yet it looks right!
