You did a magnificent job restoring this might vessel. I remember this was one of the firsts ships using the "Captain Green Hair" techniques which are now so very popular amongst LEGO ship builders. The ship has lifted the standard of LEGO ship building and it's great to see this piece of history restored into it's full glory.

This MOC is of a rare beauty Svelte It makes me even more anxious to get the PoP sets.

Captain Zuloo is taking a break for his duties
Bonaparte replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Pirates
It's up to Zuloo to decide if and when he wants to rejoin the blog-crew later on. He most certainly can continue all that. Eurobricks is even accommodating the BrickCast crew with a special hidden forum to discuss and coordinate their interviews. -
Our Shipyard Master Captain Zuloo is taking a break from his duties on Classic-Pirates.com due to time constraints. He will still be around on the forums and continue his successful interview series. In the name of Classic-Pirates.com I thank him for his appreciated contributions.

Thanks! I'm also pleased wit the look of the curved yards. That was a little experiment which turned out well. It's not very LEGOish to do, but I don't care much about that. Thank you. I doubt your HMS Unicorn will be able to catch a ship like this in a Mediterranean environment. Xebecs were used in the Mediterranean by French corsairs mainly for quick interception and getaway. The corsairs favored the xebec for its speed and maneuverability, and for its shallow draft which also aided in escaping larger vessels. These qualities were recognized by many of the European navies, and the vessel was quickly adopted into the Mediterranean squadrons as commerce-raiders and anti-piracy cruisers. If simple means lack of ornaments, then you are totally right. I went for a 'minimalist look' with limited color variations and little ornaments. This is a functional ship, not a parade ship. Thanks Captain! Thanks Admiral. The crew has is from my Orient which was destroyed in action a some time ago. The captain did get a new hair piece I've switch parts of 2 hull types to make this black and brown combination. It's not easy to do, but possible. Thanks, but I'm not sure I get your comment related with the BB bounty. Thanks Derfel! Coming from a master builder like yourself that means a lot.

Thanks! It was build with full approval of CGH and he even suggested some of the major changes I did to the ship. Look closer Captain, or have you been drinking rum again? The white circle shows the steering wheel (or maybe wheel is not the right term). The arrow points at the crew member steering the ship. Fully based on the CGH ship. You can call this one Telesell version 2

French Navy Xebec: Credits go to my friend Captain Green Hair because this ship is based on one of his works with a number of modifications (like extra hull section, thumblehome, rigging, bended yards, etc.). And a little reference picture:

You are both accepted. Now show us what you can do -
I was not aware you were also bidding on that army at CC. It's already some time ago, my memory is probably a bit faded. Who was winning the deal before it all got canceled by the seller? I concluded my French army was big enough for any future diorama and/or MOCing needs. However, I'm still collecting another army faction which is growing nicely. I'm not going to share any details at this point because I don't want to see certain figs go up in price on BL/eBay

It was already in the back of my mind to frontpage them all in one shot whenever there was a suitable time. Today was the right moment.

Our newest Reviewers Academy teacher Rufus has made 3 amazing Star Wars reviews for his final offensive for the Golden teachers badge. Pictures are links to the reviews! Do you want to learn how to make impressive LEGO set reviews and share your work with the community? Join our reviewers academy!

Very impressive Fordo! I've stopped expanding my French army a long time ago, but this brings back a lot of good memories.

Thanks Doc, I needed this info for a presentation I'm making

I think Rufus and Svelte already summarized things very well. We give first priority to LEGO news, first time set reviews and Eurobricks contest stuff. We try to give each of those 24h-48h on top of the frontpage unless there's another breaking news event arriving sooner. During quieter times we do frontpage MOCs, reviews of older sets, etc... . I agree that the Rufus reviews are great, but a big part of the reason why they are not frontpaged is the PoP stuff, the new Star Wars set, Whack-a-Fig II contest prize announcement, etc...

Silly question, but is this the 5th or 6th Eurobricks event?
-
Thank you! It says the rooms have Internet access (good news!), but doesn't mention what it costs.

This is a very interesting ship. As CGH said, the white is rather contrasting against the other colors, but it's not looking bad. I like it. I did notice that the red line goes a bit up in front of the bow while personally I wouldn't do that. But it's hard to judge from these pictures and the ones on Flickr. Overall a wonderful ship and I'm very much looking forward to see the end result.

Do you have a link to the website of the hotel? I'd like to see if there's free wifi (or how much it costs in case it's not free)?

The double sword holder looks great with two cutlasses! I fell in love with the PoP sets ever since I saw the first pictures. Especially the camels are great stuff. Now I can replay Napoleons expedition to Egypt!

You say it looks in scale? Then the illusion is working because non of these standard hull ships are in scale with the LEGO minifigs. I think it was a term I made up some time ago... But you are very right about the ship, it's one in my personal top 10 of best minifig illusion scale ships ever made.

This is your best MOC ever Brickster! I love it all the way, both the outside and interior. It is obvious your MOCing skills are improving and this sets high expectations for your future work. This MOC just feels like Mexico all the way. I just it!

I doubt you are ready. I even doubt you are ready to be on an AFOL website. Let's talk. -
Even when you are not into cars you'll love this Porsche 935 Le Mans Race car by our member Ralph_S Discuss here

Gotta love that minifig! It's great to have this early pre-view on one of the new castle factions. If my funds permit me I'll be buying some of these upcoming castle sets.

Idem!
