  1. Wow, this guy has some nice Star Wars stuff in his gallery. I like this battlescene.
  2. Do you mean that lego doesn't have a license for making sets with only SW figures?
  3. I like the current banner, but it might be better if there was a pirate ship on the horizon. My digital camera is also broken since a few days. Just when I was trying to take some pictures of my new English army 8-| I'm going to borrow an old one from a friend that just bought a new camera.
  4. Jep, its a place to discuss the nightlife of my local town X-D We plan to start promoting it by the end of the year. I also made a sales part in the forum. I put a topic to ask if someone has some old lego that he/she want so sell (or give ;-) ). You're probably right. Some people might feel obliged to sponsor...
  5. Everyone could decide to sponsor or not. But it would not be for a forum, rather for a pirate portal page that can be used to highlight some stuff that's in the pirate forum. Provide a detailed listing of topics in the forum (E.g.: an overview of all the MOC-ships with some information and links to the relevant threads,....). The pirate-forum will act as a sort of a database. I'm making a similar portal page (and forum) at this moment (still under construction). It is just a portal page in front of a forum and all links in the portal direct to topics in the forum. You can have a look if you want (it's all in dutch :)).
  6. Will you sacrifice one of your other ships (or the Archeron) to build the HMS Unclaimable Mr. Tiber?
  7. You can also check this thread: Cannon's VS Carronades. It might contain some useful info regarding your question.
  8. Just saw Chaos with Jason Statham. Not super, but ok.
  9. That must be a good song :-) I'll have to try to get it.
  10. Well, we can open a thread and explain the idea of a pirate portal page. Then ask who wants to support it (also financially) on a purely voluntary basis. If 9 members each donate 5 euro's (thats 45 euro), then we are in business and independent of external sponsors. The donating can be done via Paypal. I would have no problem to sacrifice 5 euro (that's only 1 imperial guard :) ) for a just cause! When you also give 5 euro's, then we only need to find 7 more sponsors....
  11. You seem to have a large pirate collection *y* You should have a look at the pirate forum (and even post the modified Imperial Flagship of yours).
  12. Portishead - All mine
  13. That's the first time I heard someone buying a domain name on ebay. Was that from a company or an individual person?
  14. That's a possibility. Or you could try to raise some money from the pirate fans on Eurobricks...
  15. Not a bad idea Mr. Phred, but I prefer cutting some boats in 2 like Legeaux did X-D .
  16. I like the name PirateBricks.org. Doesn't contain "lego" or "classic". It's the most accurate! How can we raise funds to buy this (or another) domain? I did some checks on the price (I recently bought a domain on www.one.com). Web Space Small - 12 months: EUR 15.00 Annual domain fee (.com/.net/.org): EUR 12.00 Setup fee: EUR 12.00 Total excl. VAT.: EUR 39.00 So the total price for the first year (including 15% tax) will be EUR 44,85. Afterwards this will cost EUR 27 + 15%= EUR 31,05/year For this price you get 1G webspace, supports ASP, PHP5, MySQL, email-addresses,.... I'm I going too fast?
  17. Hi Nathan, I just bought a domain name (.be) with 1G webspace (incl. support for ASP, PHP5, MySQL, mailboxen, ...). My investigation learned me that it was best to use www.one.com. Prices and details are on this site (I paid 31 euro incl taxes and setup costs, annual price will be 15 euro excl. taxes). I paid with Visa and got all details after 1 day. Hope this helps...

  19. That's a good find indeed. A very creative way to make a Admiral Ackbar head with bricks.
  20. Maybe, but that's rather bad publicity :-D
  21. You're a real artist! The Admiral Ackbar figure looks very good.
  22. Glad to see you have found the time to continue your work on the Archeron. It's becoming quite a powerful vessel Mr. Tiber. I can think of no remarks, since it looks very good. I'm looking forward to see some pictures with a crew on board.
  23. From what I can remember, the bleach only worked for bricks that were originally white. It was not suited for other colors. But on CC I found an interesting experiment using Hydrogen Peroxide: Day #1 An assortment of discolored "classic" light grey and white bricks, saving some of similar discoloration out as a control. The picture on the upper left is with a flash, the other without. Here you can see some of the white bricks are badly discolored. The light grey bricks have roughly the same amount of discoloration and are about the same color. (Day #25) The containment unit. Hydrogen Peroxide is basically made up of water molecules with an extra oxygen atom. Because of this, it is relatively unstable, reacting to both air and water, and gives its free oxygen atom up easily. To counteract this, I stored the bricks and peroxide in an air tight container in an unused cabinet. Day #25 *obligatory 'whoosh' noise as the containment vessel opens* Day #25 - White Bricks Here you can see the white bricks that were soaked lying on a new white baseplate, along with one of the control white bricks. The white bricks were not totally whitened 100%, but they were considerablly better in color than the control. I theorize a few more weeks and they would whiten further. Day #25 - Light Grey Bricks I'm not sure what to make of this. On top you can see the control Light Grey brick, and on the bottom you can see a new Light Grey brick. Inbetween it looks almost as if there are two Very Light Grey colored bricks and one "New" or "Bley" Light Grey Brick. Had they all turned lighter, I would have surmised that their color had been bleached out. As it is, I have no idea what to think.
  24. I like the way the inside of the ship is accessible. Very ingenieus. But I think the crew and the ship are not from the same age :) There was another medieval ship in the H&A forum some time ago. I liked it a lot, but it got almost no feedback...
  25. I try to keep my lego room as dark as possible. When nobody is in there, it is 100% dark! I did read of a technique on how to make white pieces that yellowed again white. I think it was with bleach water... Don't remember where that was mentioned |-/
