Assuming all the leaks are accurate then Mask Hunter is almost certainly Ekimu. In his original form, his role is to create masks. As a Toa, his mission is to hunt down masks before his brother can claim them.

Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread
Tazakk replied to Lance's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
Hi folks! Ninjago is moving up in the world, with this official manga printed in a Japanese magazine. http://dinasaruyama.tumblr.com/post/122425220501/aanchir-hamigakimomo-here-it-is-the-ninjago Bye now!- 4,591 replies

A little late to Takanuvachat, but in light of the updated description of graphic novel 1, I'm coming around to the idea of Ekimu being a sort of fusion of the original BIONICLE's Mata Nui and Takanuva. The description includes him as a part of the Toa team, rather than a separate element, pointing to a more direct, companionlike relationship with the Toa as opposed to being a mentor figure as might be easier to expect. As for how they would even balance the idea of Ekimu as a godlike, ancient creator with that of a more humble character who must learn alongside the Toa is a question with no easy answer. And it's all from a simple blurb that doesn't necessarily reflect the contents of the novel accurately. Of course, if the rumor regarding Ekimu becoming a full-on Toa next winter ends up being true, then the parallel between him and Takanuva would be rather more overt.

It was a reformatted description for the PoF, only mentioning the region in passing regarding his favorite location in it.

Dunno why the links aren't working, the stuff is all accessible if you just go to the site and search. There are some interesting tidbits in the descriptions: - the new blade elements are designed to hook onto and rip off toa masks - warrior and grinder's mask is just 'skull mask,' scorpio and basher's is 'Bull Skull Mask' - According to the description, it seems Skull Slicer is an ancient warrior of the city reanimated by a Skull Spider. His setting is also apparently an arena. - Warrior, Slicer, and Basher combine, Scorpio and Grinder combine - It's not the Great Forge, it's the Temple of Creation - Ekimu's weapon is the Hammer of Power

Also note that the Protector of Water is referred to as 'he.' Which could be cool and expectation-defying if a few of the other Protectors that haven't been identified yet are female, but somehow I doubt that is the case. Thanks! I considered (and even toyed around with) adding in The Legend, but the degree of separation LEGO put between it and the main series put me off. On top of that, it would have been essentially impossible to create a smooth transition between it and episode one - rather than include it and have a really ugly transition, I though it was best to do things this way.

Now that all the episodes for 1HY2015 are out, I've compiled all nine episodes into a single video, cutting out all of the unnecessary repetition. Came out to about twelve and a half minutes. I did the best I could with the audio transitions, but it ends up a tad awkward in places - there was really only so much I could do. In any case, enjoy!

Naw, Kick came later on, when they were closer to the BIONICLE concept - presumably in the "Doo Heads" iteration. This is the only picture we have of him.

I just realized that Skull Scorpio is sitting atop an opening stone coffin on his box art. Perhaps Ekimu is buried in that graveyard, and that's where the Toa find and awaken him. Then they proceed onward with him to the Great Forge, and we eventually get to the scene on the Mask Maker vs Skull Grinder box art.

"Silly" and "Up for Interpretation" are not okay excuses when the terms and conditions explicitly state, "2.8 Competitions must be entered as per any instructions set out for the competition in question on the LEGO websites and channels. Participants can enter the competition with multiple entries, however, they will only be eligible to win one prize." LEGO has actively awarded this person two prizes, in direct violation of their own rules, and at the expense of some kid hopeful of winning a toa and maybe a gold mask. That is not cool.

You'd think that something as obvious as that would be easy to avoid? EDIT: Oh, the LEGO tweet says "Again :)". Wow, what the heck.

Even though the page has a lot of fan contribution, there is an official LEGO presence there and the map is real. Check this and read the comments.

Yeah, you've pretty much got it. You take pictures of stuff you see in everyday life that looks like a face, and associate it with a specific element. Then you upload the picture to Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram with #BionicleMaskHunt and you've entered.

I liked Onua's voice. This episode really set him up with the "mystic wisdom" to Gali's "rational wisdom," an interesting contrast that wasn't explored before. I felt like his voice, and his simple demeanor, were big parts of that.

By that same token, wouldn't any fake leaks be likely to feature a new set of Toa, catering to what we would naturally expect? It's that and the fact that they are apparently reiterating a concept that was applied in Ninjago only one half-year earlier that to me really lends credence to this leak.

They show Pohatu for 'earth' and Onua for 'stone' at the beginning of the episode. Heehee.

It was a toddler. The mom sued because she felt the Inika commercial was not appropriate to be shown during developmental programming (I think it was on NickJr, but at least a channel of the like).

There's actually a good chance that it will be featured later at some point, because it is actually placed specifically as a Chekov's gun within the animations. Once LoSS has been defeated, Pohatu looks over at the podium standing in the center of the bridge and asks something along the lines of "what went here?" only to be interrupted by Tahu loudly proclaiming his latest vision from Ekimu. If the Toa get to be advertized in the summer cartoons, there isn't any reason that LoSS or the Skull Spiders that actually come with the Toa couldn't too.

I have to wonder if they are going to do a "it can only be destroyed in the fires that it was born from" thing with the Mask of Creation - Skull Grinder sure seems like he is about to dip it in on the box art.

Is that a scene we've already seen on the TV in the corner of the image? EDIT: Oh yeah, it's Ekimu mask-making.

From Almaak to Zotax: all the planets in the LEGO galaxies...
Tazakk replied to TalonCard's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I've always wondered why the terrain on the UFO box art is so weirdly organic... it even has an eye peeking out! Cool that it wasn't just some stylistic thing, but part of the UFO story. Makes me wonder if the city and volcano monster in the Exploriens background art have any significance. This also makes Alien Rally Asteroid in LEGO Racers a little cooler. It's like the Insectoids have constructed a hidden underground base, and the Zotaxians are searching them out on the surface of the asteroid. -
