  1. I don't have any qualms with his voice. I mean, I get that it's exaggerated, but to me that's part of the charm of having a single narrator depict all of the voices. In general, though, I love the narrator and think he was the perfect choice, which seems to be in opposition to most everyone else. It's me, I'm the wrong one!
  2. This episode does everything right and I want to hug it. The ending especially I can't get over. It really evokes Templar's stuff for me, especially one. They both end on an emotional high with a close up of a character, have a hard cut to black but let the music linger a bit afterwords to draw out the feeling and help you to carry it over as you exit the narrative.
  3. That seems more like a typo on the website's part, they probably meant Scorpios and not Warriors. In any case, they definitely don't appear in the graveyard in the book (and so it would be really weird if they did in the episodes).
  4. It's important to note, though, that that is a name provided by Brickset for identification's sake, not a name LEGO assigned to the set (at least, judging by the brackets they used). If that is the sort of thing that the set is (and assuming it sees the light of day), I think we can expect a little bit more than just, say, Tahu's weapons thrown in a bag or whatever like those sets tended to be. With the precedent set by the current polybags I would expect there to be some level of exclusivity going on.
  5. Do polybags even show up wherever CM4Sci is getting his information, or just standard retail sets? When I hear 'booster pack' it immediately brings this to mind, but I don't think we're going back down that road.
  6. Yeah, I get the impression that Windham himself was confused by Pohatu's line and came up with something to explain it, not really realizing that his explanation created more problems. Of course, the real reason Pohatu said that was because it was a joke - there very likely wasn't too much thought put into the nitty-gritty worldbuilding implications it might have.
  7. It looks like the update hasn't been rolled out on the web version of the game as of yet, hopefully they add it soon.
  8. Ah sweet, they did official art for the city. The shot from the cartoon they were using for its page looked out of place with all of the other renders that are so different stylistically, so this is rad.
  9. bwahaha, a clip show episode. In a series of 1:30 animations. Beautiful.
  10. Just so you guys know, someone did a fake 'leak' of a modern good guy earlier this year, and that model definitely seems like a modern bad guy.
  11. I can't link a source because the old BZP forum is dead, but there was a time when Greg started a topic specifically to answer questions about what was determined at the beginning of BIONICLE. I recall distinctly that he said they had 3 books set out in 2001: - 3 years on Mata Nui - 1 year interlude flashing back to Metru Nui - 3 years with the hunt for the Mask of Life - 3 years with the return of the original Toa and their quest to finally awaken Mata-Nui But of course, he also said things like the Dark Hunters were planned in 2001, so take it all as you will. In fact, Greg was probably wrong there, as Bob Thompson shared in 2003 there were seven books planned out. Even if you were to include the expansion of the Metru-Nui arc into a book of its own, that's a lot more. Source (Ctrl + F 'at least seven')
  12. Last episode popped up on LEGO's servers on Thursday last week. Even if that was a fluke, the latest 12 will be out is Saturday. Monday if the LEGO.com team doesn't get it up for some reason and we have to rely on their YouTube channel.
  13. To the contrary, I've heard 2002 was the peak of BIONICLE's sales numbers. 2006 would've definitely been up there, though. The reboot into the edgier style drew a lot of people in and generally seemed to revitalize interest in the brand.
  14. What it looks like to me from the depiction Lewa was looking at is that the players hop around through obstacles and the rising/falling pillar floor to reach the center, where there is a smaller pillar sticking out of a central, normal-sized pillar. The player who hits the smaller pillar with his hammer and makes it flush with the pillar it is sticking out of is the winner. Ergo "Hammer Flush."
  15. You may not want to bank too much on the cover art representing the setting. The older books also used stock images for covers, and they generally had little to do with book content, especially as far as setting.
  16. I mean, he's absolutely right that oversimplification and specialization in set design was a huge problem that LEGO was sinking itself deeper and deeper into at the time, but it's more than a little apparent that his frustration with the fact led to some exaggeration. Five or six pieces in the BIONICLE sets? That wouldn't even net you Tohunga-level articulation.
  17. Wowee. the creatures really sound like they're gonna outshine the new Toa, at least at this point. A spider with a thread winch abdomen? A snake with a constricting function? That's legit new and interesting stuff that they've never really attempted before. Basically this sounds like Master Builder Set 2.0.
  18. I actually kinda like that thus far black and trans orange = main villain, and I'd like to think that there's plot significance to it too. But that's me as a story guy. From a set design/MoCer's perspective yeah I get that it's pretty lame.
  19. What employee magazine are you talking about? Do you have a link, or is this something you heard?
  20. In case anyone is wondering, that is stated in the description So we'll officially only be at Episode 11 when the book comes out and the rest of the story is revealed. I was thinking that they might push the episodes out more quickly just to get it done before the book, but I guess since the book is a quieter thing anyway they're pushing through on a longer schedule.
  21. It's worth noting that every one of the mini comics so far has had an analogue in the mainline story except for the Lord of Skull Spiders one. Its entirely possible they just needed to come up with something original to show him in a situation where he actually wins, but I think it's also worth noting that, if you look at the first panel, the comic is taking place at the base of a bridge (a broken one, at that!). So maybe the comic is from a scene in Revenge of the Skull Spiders? I mean, I would find it unlikely, but the fact that they left the Golden Mask of Skull Spiders plot thread hanging in the cartoon, presumably as a lead-in to the book, implies that this time around there is a little more awareness of book content in other media sources.
  22. Kind of interesting that they seem to be abandoning the idea of primarily using titles for characters on the sets. Everyone's got a name this wave, so maybe they've decided that names don't hurt as long as the titles are there to provide more reflexive identification.
  23. More from searching by set number: Terak Creature of Earth Pohatu Unifier of Stone Gali Unifier of Water Tahu Unifier of Fire It does seem as if there is no Ice creature in the lineup, and there's also apparently no space as far as set numbers go for Kopaka, unless he is numbered separately from the other Toa and hasn't been listed yet.
  24. Dum!Dum! has a page up on their site for their work on BIONICLE now. http://www.dumdum.dk/work/bionicle/ I really hope that that wonderful variation on the main musical theme gets used in the actual episodes, but it might just be a demo.
