1. I will be very dissapointed if we do not get at least two new/update shield prints.
2. This lady has been running the Armor Shop since 1986. As you can see this figs has been well played with - as it was one of the only female figs I owned as a child. She came in 6041, and I have fond memories of this set. But as it is now 2024, it is time for an upgrade. The new and old side by side. More Pictures on Flickr.
3. This looks great. Well done!
4. I think the price of printed shields is just LEGO price gouging.
5. I 100% agree. I sold my Star Wars USC collection back in 2019, no regrets.
6. I think I am going to pass as it will be easy to build with bricks I have on hand. No paper instructions are a big deal for me. But, then again I may get it.
7. Thanks for the free instructions. I am going to add this to my build backlog as this looks so good given the pieces constraints.
8. I feel you. I am in a position similar, but mainly self imposed. I have plenty of funds, but i am trying to limit the space and time that lego consumes. I buy anything and everything medevil, but i have not built a few large ones (rivendell) as I have not set aside space to display.
9. You can call it whatever you want, but I see where @mab is coming from. And this dumb game is all on LEGO, they are the ones selling limited sets. On a related note: I buy frequently anything that looks interesting to me, even if I am on the fence about the set. Reason being I have paid secondary market value one to many times over the years. I have the funds and space available to lower my risk. For the sets I buy that I am unsure of, they go into my backlog. If a year or two, or three, pass and I have not built it - I sell. I would say over 50% of my purchases get sold before I build. I do appreciat the gains that often come my way and that money usually goes into buying current offerings that interest me. My current backlog has only 7 sets pre-2021 that I am still holding on to with expections I will eventually build.
10. I will buy it reguardless of my opinion. It's castle! Yes, I am part of the problem.
11. In before the hate: "Don't hate the player, hate the game!"
12. "Purchase" the bricklink set; you have 9 months to cancel the order if you like the Medieval Town Square and/or Dungeons and Dragons more.
13. Not a dedicated thread, I hijacked this one:
14. They are upping production to 30K. I like that as it will turn off some resellers.
15. Mountain Fortress will sell out in a couple hours.
16. I buy anything I am slightly interested in for this exact reason. Within reason.
17. Love the use of the roller skates. Well done!
18. Given the year is just about over and we are not going to get any more shields, it is time to post my collection. Complete~ minifig shield Collection organized by year. The following guidelines are used to determine what elements are included in the Lego Shield Collection: Any element that was initially designed to be held by a minifig as a shield. Accounts for the inclusion of 75902pb19 even though it is used as a vehicle decal in a Technic set. Any element that is held by a minifig as a shield. Accounts for the inclusion of 98834pb02 even though it was introduced as a vehicle spoiler. Brick built shields are not included. Exceptions are made when a single tile is added to a shield element (14769pb523), as in the Goat Boat (76208) set. Offensive weapons that are used to block an attack are not included. This eliminates swords, light sabers and power burst shields. Nexo Knight shield tiles are not included. The four Nexo Knight shields are included, but the 161 Nexo Knight shield tiles that attach are not included (see Nexo Collection). Lego duplo and bionicle shields are not included. ~ Missing three shields. Two noted by the red lego plates and one shield has a home made print. Details can be found here: followsclosely.github.io/shields/ More pictures on flickr.
19. I hope the leak price turns out to be accurate.
20. I used a food scale and the weight guid off jaysbrickblog. Northern VA.
21. I picked up two of the three 2024 shields at my local Wal*Mart today. I am looking forward to the shield shop as I am expecting at least 6 or so shields, hopefully a couple new ones!
22. I found some Series 25 at my local Wal*Mart. There are three great Medieval figs.
23. This is fun. Thanks for sharing!
