Looking at the comic on Umarak's box, it seems he finds the Mask of Control and actually wears it. I think that confirms what most people have been assuming, that Umarak betrays Makuta and gets the Mask of Control for himself. But since the main villain is Makuta and not Umarak, I'm sure he's going to bite back. I think the big plot twist towards the end of the year will be the answer to "Where is Makuta?", and I think it is "He's always been inside the Mask of Control". So he's going to pull something on Umarak, like banishing his spirit away and stealing his body.

Interesting, where are you planning to attach them?I think one solution to make the Toa torsos a bit thicker could be attaching the torso shell to a oOo 3x1 liftarm (98577), like on Umarak. That does leave a space open, but you could use that extra room for further customization. But I'm getting outside the thread topic (which is Gali and her only), so I'm not sure if I should continue.

I would've probably included a Shadow Trap for Melum and an exclusive recoloured mask. But I think we're still going to get something similar later in the year (Umarak's mask? MoCo?), so I'm fine with what we got. Good point. Maybe they tried to add such a detail to sound more believable, but in the end it hilariously comes off as harder to believe instead. And I was falling for it too. Too bad because I liked how Ekimu's and Umarak's masks sounded.

Well, colour me surprised. It's really cool to see the first instance of a cloth piece that is explicitly designed for BIONICLE after a looong while. Yeah, Tahu, we know you get all the cool toys as the poster boy, but I'm going to hand that to another character, Ekimu sounds indeed like a good choice as Dr_Chronos suggested. I wonder how it'd look as a loincloth?

Yeah, that's it. Replace her black 6M thigh bones with dark bley 5M bones and her 5M shin bones with Kopaka's (since they're exclusive to him for now) 6M shin bones and things should look a bit better. Improves the colour scheme too. And yeah, the flatness is a bit more off-putting than I hoped for. I'll try to fix it, though it's most likely going to sacrifice the Unity feature.

Great review and photos! Yeaaah.. I'm sort of disappointed about Gali. The colour scheme is fantastic, but the proportions feel off. I think it's something about the limbs. The shoulders should sit a module lower and the legs..I can't put my finger on it, but I know there's something I need to do. The weapon and the mask are pretty good, but I like her 2015 equipment better. That guard with the little chain is awesome though.

^ My main problem with the Fire Lord leg build is how awkward made the figure look. The legs started at regular width and then they suddenly doubled. And until Stormer XL came along, Titans didn't use any CCBS trick to widen the shoulders so the Fire Lord build had this awkward "super (relatively) narrow shoulders and awkward super wide legs) look that made no sense to me. Grievous's legs are a huge improvement over that design. Only reason I believe that anon above the others is that they shared some Nexo Knights info and some oddly specific details (like the absence of Mixels sets). They also said they'd share pictures if I understood correctly. Plus we've gotten Summer pics in December in the past, so a catalog might've really popped out somewhere

The main reason I'd like Ekimu to be Toa-sized is to get another Uniter torso with a unique print design, either in gold or (hopefully) trans light blue. The Uniter decals have impressed me for managing to follow a different style for each Toa (unlike the more consistent graffiti designs on the Masters, not that I didn't like those) and I'd like to see what Ekimu would get. And I haven't given up on building my Artakha MOC (needless to say, it's the Mask of Creation that kickstarted the whole idea in my mind), which is kinda an upsized Ekimu, so a torso with a unique design would help me. A number of people have built a "Toa Ekimu" and recycled Master Kopaka's chest armour to use on him, but it feels like an annoying compromise.

I hope the Mask of Creation is fully trans blue, a gold and trans blue version would be less versatile. I'm a bit worried about Umarak's mask, Umarak the Hunter has no mouth which makes him look like a stoic character. The "creepy smile" makes me think of a manic psychopath, which is probably a sign of Umarak's deteriorated mental health (like a Megatron vs Galvatron situation). And a mask with a creepy smile sounds like it would be useful for a certain character.. I agree the Beasts are more crtstal-like than rock-like, which should hint at a relationship between them and the Creatures.

Anime Uxar is saved. Those pieces already exist in trans neon green so it would've been easy to slip in those, but they didn't so I'm glad. At last, the grim era of clashing trans greens comes to an end.

That's great, the 6M shells exist unprinted in the same set anyway. Just having that torso shell without decals is enough to make me happy. I wonder if he's the only set with stickers? The other colours are pretty good too (black, silver, dark tan..). -

Yeah, Lewa has too much silver there. And the Bohrok eyes on his body make him look a bit too bulky for my tastes. I can't see how the silver on Kopaka would be a problem, since he only has it on his shoulders and lower legs (and mask of course). I think a lot of people are being too harsh on him, he's pretty balanced aside from the crystal add-ons. His colour scheme does make more sense than 2015 Kopaka, who can't decide if his scheme is gold on white or white on gold (I still like him a lot, mind you). He's the set I'm anticpating to see the most in fact.

Nice review! Umarak looks fantastic, and shows that you don't need to make a villain black/grey and red/trans orange for him (or her..sigh) to look threatening. Trans green reminds me of something radioactive, as if he was born from some disaster and is still glowing. The Skeletons were just corpses of mechanical warriors, Umarak looks like something that is very wrong and shouldn't exist- that's why he looks so creepy to me. Still not sure about the MoCo, but I need to see it in person. But Umarak's mask is way cool, like a mutated and distorted face. But I'm worried about that Uxar. Yuck, those clashing greens on his wings. They translated it atually (also descriptions! Though this one doesn't seem to reveal anything). And once again, Kopaka and Melum are 25 Euro.And "Umarak il Distruttore" sounds pretty freaking cool too.

So Kopaka's mini shield has a design on it? That's really cool, nice reference to his knight theme, though the shield itself is really small.

Kopaka & Melum has stickers?Neat extra feature I guess, though he's going to look really odd without the trap halves since they really complete his look. Can Umarak wear the Mask of Control or do you need to remove his antlers first? Yeah, Umarak is awesome and pretty unique in terms of looks. My fear that his Destroyer form might make him into a more generic "edgy" villain (red and black, horns, staff, stuff like that). I'd accept that only if they intended that to be Makuta's new pyshical vessel.

His silver parts seemed kind of tan in the very first leaked pic. Not a huge harm since we've gotten a lot of tan parts since then. And IMO dark orange looks a lot better with dark tan than regular tan.

He does feel he's at a higher price point than Tahu and Onua, though he has less large shells. Onua has full CCBS limbs and three large torso shells, Tahu has one torso shell but has four weapon parts. But Tahu is as tall as Umarak and has less stuff going on. Onua does have a better value than Tahu now that I think about it, with Umarak beating him by a bit .

I think I like his legs overall. They flow better than I thought. I'm slightly disappointed his shoulder armour isn't silver, but it's minor. The rest of him looks absolutely amazing. Favourite BIONICLE villain in a long while, maybe in my top 5.

HUH so that's how those are meant to do. That's clever and adds some detailing too. Maybe I could start doing it on my MOCs and some past sets too.

Meh, Gali's Vorox armour doesn't look that good anymore. Not into the mask very much either. But that colour scheme, dayum. My perfect Gali has her 2015 design and mask and her 2016 colours. And possibly a combination of her two weapons.

4 more figures? Cool, but are we sure they're all from TFA? If so, Han Solo is a given, and if his outifit is the one he has in the trailer we should get some more Dark Brown shells. The other 3? C3PO would be great, as he might bring some new gold pieces (we haven't had new shell sizes since? 2013?) that Ekimu the Mask Maker could reuse, like 6M shells (they seem to be popular among these Battle Figures) and ESPECIALLY the much needed, long overdue hands. And if his minifig is any indication, we could get some new dark red parts too, unless they go for red. Chewbacca could be a possibility, but I honestly wouldn't be interested in him. No clue about the fourth one. If they follow the "even number of heroes and villains", I don't know who those 2 villains could be. -
Hah, yeah, we pretty much nailed it. Looking at the Kylo Ren review, though, the SW torso is slightly different in that there's only one module above the shoulder connection, unlike the Uniter torso which has two.Overall I'm ok with it. The gunmetal hips are a surprise, but they work as a common solution for the silver torso shell (Lewa, Gali) and the black one (Onua). Seems like the hips and the bone can be removed too, though it requires force. And there's enough friction, so no awkward flopping waists like 03 Makuta's. So no complaints, though I'm waiting to make a final judgement until I get my hands on the piece(s).

Onua looks great, but I wanna do something to his legs. What little black there is is covered by the crystal add-ons, so they look unbalanced compared to the arms. Not hard to fix though. And, I know most are going to disagree, but I did like the silver on Master Onua and I want to try putting some on Uniter Onua as well. I migh just straight up mount Mater Onua's shover-shoulder armour on him. Now, off to think a solution to bring more balance to Pohatu (not enough brown, too much trans lime and silver) and Tahu.
