  1. Piraka unwittingly worked for Makuta, only Zaktan was aware of it. The Barraki were indipendent, which is kinda what I'm hoping to see in Umarak rather than him being another servant of Makuta's. Or at least him having some thoughts about betraying his master. And speaking of Umarak, I do kind of hope his background is the Jungle Region. It's always been the part of Okoto I've been interested in the most, it just sounds really odd and mysterious (far more so than Le-Wahi ever felt, actually): Maybe Umarak is some sort of powerful and evil forest spirit hailing from that region.
  2. Definitely Dark Brown. The mask is still Dark Orange though... which partly leads me to believe that, since the other Toa masks haven't changed colour from 2015, Lewa is going to stay Bright Green, much as I'd like to see some Earth Green.
  3. I've been wondering that myself, especially given the neat transparent colours the piece comes in. I mean, surely skeletal can't ALWAYS mean evil. I tried giving Warrior's torso to Kopaka, but it makes him look like a rotting corpse, as if something horrifically dug his armour and flesh away. But it does look less skeletal on Grievous, so maybe the trick is using it on a larger figure, so the ribcage design can look more like an armour decoration rather than making up the torso itself.
  4. True, I gave the Breakout torso to half of my Masters and it looks good. The Brain Attack torso, which I used to see as too feminine, has grown on me, too bad it exists in only two colours. The Skull torso looks good but is very wide on short figures and looks, surprise surprise, decayed. And the new Uniter torso is growing on me as well, for its shape, details and printing.
  5. You mean the Brain Attack armour. The Breakout armour is a piece forever forgotten in the depths of.. uh, forgetfulness.
  6. That would make everyone but Lewa and Kopaka wield staff weapons, so it'd make sense. And Umarak. But he's got his blade and he can aim with his bow, like Lewi suggested a few pages ago. I imagine Ekimu is going to use the Uniters body build, but I wonder which type of functions the Beasts and Umarak are going to feature.
  7. I can't see how Onua's torso could be gold there. Shadows can pull off some devilish tricks, but compare it to his upper arms, and you'll see they also have the power to destroy it's much much closer to the black shells than the gold add-ons. And his torso printing is much lighter than the torso piece itself- compare it to catalog Onua, whose gold torso was much lighter than the purple printing on it. Saturation, true, can change how some colours are perceived, but doesn't change the... fact one colour is lighter or darker than the other (I'm sure there's a term for what I'm talking about, but I don't know it).
  8. Hooooolyyy wooow that Tahu. I forgive Lego for making the torso armour one piece- look at all that machinery! And his legs seem to be one module longer now, so let's welcome the new tallest G2 set, though Umarak will most likely beat him. Onua's torso seems to be black now, that means Gali and Lewa are the only ones without a unique colour for them. Lewa's and Uxar's "Uniter sword" blades are tr. bright green now (so no "different trans greens clashing together" Syndrome that often hit HF) and Kopaka's sword hilts are silver this time. I wonder if Gali's Uniter sword on her staff is like Kopaka's, fully silver or something else. Lewa does indeed seem to be Metru green. I wouldn't mind it, as it provides a better contrast both to silver and tr. bright green. So, a few better shots and colour changes do make the sets seem a bit better, not that I didn't like them before. They just look better, the weapons probably being the weakest elements. EDIT Just noticed Onua's upper legs aren't large black shells anymore, but tr. purple 4M shells+gold piston add-ons instead. Those were really prototypes after all. I wonder if Umarak changed somehow?
  9. Oh yeah, now that I look at the pic on my laptop, I do see the gold on Onua. Aah well. I do like it, it's just that given what I want to use the Uniters and their pieces for, gold wouldn't fit the black character. Looking at Tahu though, in a full frontal position, I do appreciate the new torso a bit more, as it looks less clunky and more slender than I previously thought. I still think a new torso+a printed chest combo would've worked best, especially since Umarak uses the "old solution" in conjunction with the new "buttgear" torso just fine.
  10. He does seem to. And the way the tr purple on his body is distributed seems different. Also, someone over 4chan noted that Tahu might not have his gold Skull armour on his shoulders anymore but trap halves instead, like Umarak. Couple this stuff with the different looking MoCo and it gets quite curious. Maybe the sets in the catalog weren't finalized...?
  11. Odd, that MoCo looks quite different from the one in the catalog. The horns are much smaller and so is the beard. I wish we could have short beard+big horns like the animated version. But it is possible that this one might actually be the final version.
  12. Oooh booy, what did I spawn with a 1-line post while I was at the counter. To me, applying stickers isn't a big deal, especially since I really like the designs Kopaka got on his upper legs, and Onua would've been terribly bland with a huge featureless chest. The main reason I support them is because the print often ends up making a recolour half moot, like Jango's sand blue 6M shells or the other Toa' gold, silver and dark orange chests. Meanwhile Kopaka's white shells and Onua's black Hulk chest didn't have to suffer this. I do support print if the part is in a old colour, like Gali's or one of the Skeletons' titanium metallic chests. Printing is ideal, yes, but I just don't see stickers as devil incarnate like some seem to do. Ah yeah, true. Then it's kind of odd- maybe they're going to put them in the following days? The SW Battle Figures (CCBS) and System sets aren't up yet either, though that might be due to Lego's anti-spoiler policy. Really want to see what they did BTW, since most of those figures supposedly are 25 Euro.
  13. That might possibly imply a February release in order to pave the way for the TFA Ultrabuilds.
  14. It's not historical Castle the way we see it. It's sci-fi with a very strong Medieval Europe aesthetic. I don't think of Ninjago as Castle so I'm going to say NK isn't either.
  15. Smart villains tend to get a bit dumber once they get their power they longed for. They get too arrogant and put less work on their plans because they think brute force is enough. Look at Aizen in Bleach.
  16. HF was gearing towards a main plot at the end of Breakout , there even was someone at Lego who ordered Greg to not reveal the creator of the Brains in his books (check his interview with TTV), but then they decidedto scrap everything and have BIONICLE return.
  17. Yep, looking that size and what could be a Hulk chest, it might be very possible that Basher was originally conceptualized as a 20 Euro/$ set. And it looks like the Skeletons originally sported rather different colour schemes, with the bones in dark tan (much like those of a long decomposed corpse) and a tribal zigzag decoration motif on their armour. The overall look seems less Mesoamerican and more akin to a culture living in icy regions, though I can't quite tell which. Also, he's fully armoured, the shells cover his bony arms too. Overall, he looks much more organic, while the final sets are much closer to the idea of decomposed and ruined cyborgs (with their inner workings showing through). Since the Masters concecpts partially found their way into the Uniters, I wonder if we'll ever see some of those concepts again? Maybe something on the Beasts?
  18. I swear I'll never ever understand why you guys hate stickers so much.
  19. I can see a Rahkshi-style waist movement feature working since they all wield blades or pole weapons, but what about Umarak? Does his fighting style revolve around whacking people with his giant crossbow?
  20. Yeah, kforgot to mention that. Warrior, like the others, is freaking tiny, with Gali (had her on my desk at that time due to MOCing related reasons) towering over him (/her, why not). Maybe the bone bone should've been one module longer. I get that they're tecnically army builders, but Kulta, Basher and Slicer, as the leader should've been 1-2 modules taller each. Nothing a pair of friction extenders can't fix (I swear that piece was a godsend), sure, I'm just talking about the general presentation of the sets. It seems the 2016 sets are returning to the Masters' heights for the most part, with Lewa being (I believe) only one module shorter, but Onua getting taller and Umarak towering over Tahu by 1-2 modules.
  21. Finally got my first taste of 2015 Wave 2 (ahem, guess I can't call it Summer Wave anymore), Skull Warrior. Pretty good set overall, though I have my own projects for these pieces (which I love by the way). Did anyone notice you can attach a shell to the new bone bones? It does stay on for a while, unless you knock it off with force.
  22. I don't remember well, I think I assumed he was a white and/or gold powerful titan-like figure like Brutaka or Makuta. Just way, way more powerful than them. I didn't pick the "Mata Nui is physically stronger than the Great Beings" hint until it was too late.
  23. I really don't think we're getting more Toa except maybe Takua/Takanuva, and even him I'm having doubts on. IMO it's pretty clear they want to focus on one single team of heroes, like with successful lines like Ninjago.
  24. Nobody mentioned it so I'll do it: I really liked that the whole first part of the episode used no music at all. It really highlighted the sense of hopelessness the Toa were feeling. Sometimes, silence is much more powerful than any song or theme.
  25. These aren't getting enough hate compared to the Skeletons, though. I'm worried : P
