  1. I would definitely get whoever your favourite Toa is and at least 2 of the 3 larger Toa. Out of the 3 smaller Toa, Lewa and/or Gali. I'd skip Pohatu unless you really like his character. Out of the Protectors, I'd get 2-3 of them you like the best since they're fairly similar to each other. Get Mask Maker vs Skull Grinder, but I'm not sure if you should get the other 4 Skull sets. Maybe one of them. As for the rest, I'd save up my resoureces for the 2016 line.
  2. Are Lava's crystal shells.....trans black? Now that' surprising. I think he's the best Beast overall. Very bulky and threatening. I wonder how Fire Lord's printed shells would look on him? I do like Storm, mostly. Trans neon green looks a lot better with dark blue than it does with medium blue. Crystal looks iffy, the worst one I'd say. The asymmetrical look isn't a bad idea, but as it often happens budget limitations limit the set's potential, and once again the look isn't the best. And, once again, someone doesn't understand that trans purple and solid purple are completely different shades that shoudn't be mixed together. Can the Beasts' jaws even close? They look locked in place. It looks like their heads are the G1 ones, the chin is a pretty big giveaway. I honestly didn't need such a recolour, but at least we know they can produce that piece in transparent colours, so crossing the fingers for more shades. Overall, it seems that removing the lower jaw and using silver heads would actually contribute to the figures' look. Ekimu's printing is pretty good, but I don't get what those grey wires on his chest are. Does he have a gearbox?! Even without it, he's a great value for 15 Euro, he's got so much stuff going on. Umarak is a mixed bag. I don't like the hands and the Mask doesn't look that great honestly, even if it were fully gold. I'm mostly interested in the torso, which most likely isn't going to use exclusive pieces, so I'm not sure if there's even a point for me to buy the set.
  3. Aaand here's my new avatar. Really liking the animation. It's not as cartoony as the 2015 shorts, a style I enjoyed, but it's not TOO realistic, which is something I tend to dislike. The Toa make good use of their elements, but I hope to see some close quarters combat too. And Kopaka is using his eyescope! Umarak's bow folds down and is stored on his back. I'll have to do that once I get the set, should be pretty easy to do with some simple Technic tricks.
  4. With the way things are going, I think we really are getting transparent G2 heads. All villains have used masks so far, it wouldn't make sense to return to an helmet based system. The masks stop just above the chin, like Batman's mask. I think the idea is that the lower jaw opens and you can see their heads underneath. At least I hope that's what they're going for. Adding humanoid elements to monsters adds something fundamentally wrong and makes them creepy.
  5. Man, did the corrupted MoCo really need to be blended? No extra mask either. But he looks massive, so here's at least a design I can reuse. The Beasts have great colour schemes and their chest prints look great. And they're bulky. Actually better than the Skeletons IMO. Though the Toa masks seem kind of useless with those colours. Ekimu looks great. Full trans MoCr!
  6. Ah, you mean the 1/3 axle / 2/3 pin piece from Master Lewa? That seems more simple and less bulky. Doesn't spin much though, and I except it should since saw blades are pretty synonymous with spinning.
  7. That looks good! The only thing that is missing is the spinning function. That would require a piece without friction, but I don't know which one.
  8. Umarak the Destroyer seems to be the only set that doesn't appear to include an extra mask. I hope it's just missing from the preliminary box art, because I'd be up for a recoloured corrupted Mask of Control, in gunmetal or (for maximum G1 homage potential) black. Unless we get that in 2017, if Makuta follows Umarak's path (base form in Winter, final boss form in Summer with the MoUP?). And I'm also curious to see how Ekimu's shield works. It's not the first wrist mounted shield (HF had a few), but it is the first one sitting on top of a shell instead of replacing it.
  9. I actually wanted to build a trans light blue Artakha with that one. Not very close to the canon sand green, but it would've made a good contrast to the black and gold Karzahni I'll eventually build. Guess I'll have both of them wear gold now. I wonder if the Beast heads are blended. I hope the MoCo at least isn't.
  10. The most interesting thing from the group shot should be figuring out if that's really trans yellow on Umarak and Storm. I tend to believe the report as they're not that hard to tell apart IRL- trans yellow is very warm. On the other hand, I'm so jaded about it ever appearing at this point I'm not sure what to think. I heard Ekimu's mask is a gold/tr light blue blend, which I actually find disappointing.
  11. I know I shouldn't get tricked, but yellow would be pretty great since it's the closest thing to trans gold. Trans neon green doesn't make any sense, might as well make him bright green like the Hunter.
  12. The report is up! Not sure where Huw saw the brown and dark red. Umarak is described as trans yellow, but I wonder if it's real trans yellow or what.
  13. Short preview of Journey to One up on the Facebook page. Looks pretty great!
  14. ^ Lol, that Storm Beast. And. Let's not forget that time when he called the 2013 Chima Ultrabuilds "HORRIBLE" (in all caps). Is he the site's owner? I remember he's been snarky about Ninjago in the past too, saying they're all the same without innovation. Why doesn't he just leave the reporting on these disgusting inferior themes to someone else on his team, so he can focus on his beloved grey spaceships (see, I can do that too)? Or just say "There are five sets. I'll let other reporters write about those in detail". Or even nothing at all if you really can't hold your urge to snark.
  15. I actually find the colour scheme described there to be much more interesting than black+trans neon green, which honestly looks really boring to me. Plus it's closer to Umarak the Hunter's colours, light blue aside.
  16. This was in the Brickset report, whatever that might imply:
  17. I'm starting to think that Italy in general breeds elitist fandoms due to our general culture/personality. Anime/manga fandoms likewise tend to be pretty terrible. As for the report, I think it's Huw screwing things up as usual, because Bionicle is crap that doesn't deserve his time.
  18. Still I doubt even him would mix green with brown and red. Everything else is typical Huw and all that brings, however.
  19. That's...completely different than what we saw. Which means those were very, very early preliminary pictures. And Umarak is 18 pounds, doesn't that mean he's Kopaka+Melum's price?
  20. From what little I've seen of Italian AFOLs, can confirm. Bricks are the real deal, constraction is cancer that must eliminated at worst, and a cute little toyline for silly children at best. There's a reason I prefer staying in English speaking Lego communities.I wouldn't be surprised if that site described 2015 given what little care constraction is given.
  21. I'm gonna get all the Toa to upgrade the Masters. I'll use the leftovers for, well, other Toa! The end of the Mask of Control game shows a shadowed Umarak the Destroyer. It seems the model used for his feet is General Grievous, but I wonder if the Mask in the very last panel is the Winter Mask of Control or a more detailed glimpse at the Summer Mask of Control.
  22. Melum is the ape/rhino Dorek mentioned. They all sound OK, but I thought Terak would be a mole or a bat.
  23. I found the excpert a while ago, IIRC: Ikir: bird of prey Terak: ape/lizard Ketar: scorpion Uxar: dragonfly Akida: shark All of them are mentioned to have dragon like characteristics too.
