  1. I don't have a specific cast in mind, but let's try: Tahu: Roberto Draghetti (same VA from the MoL dub) Kopaka: Francesco Bulckaen Onua: Alessandro Rossi Pohatu: Vittorio Guerrieri Lewa: Fabio Boccanera Gali: Laura Boccanera (same VA from the MoL dub) Umarak: Roberto Pedicini Ekimu: Michele Kalamera Too bad most of the voice samples you find for them are way off from the voices I have in mind for them.
  2. Was he? Good then. He sounded a bit disappointed/disgusted but I guess it was just my feeling, silly me.
  3. BZP's Instagram has a pic of Onua+Terak up. Looks FANTASTIC. Onua's colours and build alone make him a huge improvement over his 2015 form in my eyes. And forgot to comment on it- so Terak's and Onua's crystal add-ons really are gold to tr. clear. How strange.. the preliminary sets did use tr. purple so it seems they changed their mind. It's not they can't make gold to tr. purple anyway so it's definitely an aesthetic choice. I wouldn't mind more trans clear parts in the future. I know they might seem a bit boring, but I can think of some uses for them.
  4. Azure 4M shells on his upper arms and 3M red shells on his lower arms perhaps?
  5. I don't understand a word of Russian (actually I know about 4..but that's besides the point)... but judging from your tone of voice and what you were pointing to, were you saying her cape is of low quality?
  6. Thanks! Really nice, glad that colour is getting used more. I actually like it more than Medium Azure.
  7. I think the gold wouldn't be so bad if most of the trans orange was replaced by red. Basically the same mistake they made with 2014 Laval- nowhere near enough contrast. So is that Mata Blue or Gali's Dark Azure? Gali's new 4M shells seem like they would look pretty good on him. Colours aside, the weapons still look lame to me, but I do like his overall figure, more so than I thought actually. Still at the bottom of my list among the Toa however. EDIT Draiknova read my mind
  8. I plan to do something similar, but I don't think it should be that hard. You can even attach the gearbox on the new torso, so a lot of the unique tidbits each Toa had (Lewa's vest thing, Gali's and Tahu's shoulder armour design, etc) should I be fairly easy to transplant.
  9. I'll sum up my stance in this way: -Do I want CCBS to stay? Absolutely yes. -Do I think CCBS should improve? Yes, but a number of its few remaining shortcomings are getting solved next year (Mata Nui bless the new neckless and shoulderless torso bone from the new SW sets). -Do I want CCBS to be integrated with Technic? Yes, the Uniters made me realize that CCBS and Technic can work wonderfully toegether (though their designs aren't perfect). -Do I want CCBS to be integrated with old BIONICLE parts? Yes, but only when possible and if it's worth it (like the Vorox armour). -Do I want the old "BIONICLE system" (if it can really be called a system) to return in full force (one piece lower limbs, Inika torsos, etc)? Absolutely freaking not.
  10. Yeah I know, I'm not saying it's a direct reference. And I don't have any proof the designers have taken inspiration from fairies either, the comparison just came to me and all the other stuff came on its own : P
  11. I was thinking.. Since the new torso doesn't have any neck built-in, wouldn't it be possible to attach a ball socket and keept it stable with some Technic tricks? That way, you could mount a Toa Metru head, and build Bionicle G2 characters wearing the old masks.
  12. I just find it funny that they go out of their way to build a character exclusive to the diorama, yet they still keep the red axles which are incredibly easy to fix. Though I suppose not everyone is irked by them as I am. And yeah, I forgot (..must..not..make...puns..) all villagers wear the same mask. It's probably just a generic villager. Also forgot to mention, I do like how s/he's using the Breakout knee caps/shoulder pads. Show that the designers haven't forgotten about the HF era parts. Darth Vader used them, but I don't count him as a BIONICLE figure of course.
  13. I do like Akida and Ketar. Akida a bit less since I'm not fond of Technic-heavy models (though, as a fish, s/he does pull it off better than LoSS and Scorpio), but I like the overall look and Gali looks great combined with her/him. Ketar is the best looking arachnid we've gotten in G2 so far, but, well, I don't care for his combo with Pohatu. I actually think Ketar would've looked great with some sort of launcher weapon, as it would've fit Pohatu's desert warrior theme really well.So I'm not driven to get them as with the other Creatures. Uxar is my favourite Creature both and I really like his combo with Lewa and Umarak so he's a must. And I'll most likely get Terak and Ikir in the end. The PoU and the back armour on their lower back should make them thicker than the Inika, I think. But, anyway, I don't think it's that bad to be honest. The new torso still has plenty of pin holes, adding some back armour to bulk the Toa up should be extremely easy, especially if you're willing to sacrifice the Unity function. It is even easier than before since 1)The gearbox doesn't occupy space and 2)Like the XT4 torso (and unlike the first three CCBS torsos from 2011), the Uniter torso has a pin hole going through the middle ball joint (the one you attach torso shells to).
  14. >they revamp Korgot >the red axles are still present and plainly visible Is that dark bley or light bley? If it's light bley, a mix of dark bley would've made the cave a lot more lively and natural looking. If it's dark bley, a mix with black would've done the same. I would've put some dark tan too. Overall, while I'm no master MOCer, it looks too uniform, I think. The overall structure is really good however. And the lake is a great idea. And they don't even have exclusive recolours!
  15. You're welcome! It was fun to do overall (and I couldn't resist since I was so curious). I like Onua's body structure myself. I know a lot of people liked Onua the Dwarf King, but he was simply too broad to me, to the point of being almost comical (in my very humble opinion). He still looks very powerful now, but he's a lot more proportionate. And he still looks like a dwarf-like being to me, or at least some elemental cave spirit, thanks to the hammer and the gold (about which I don't see anyone complaining anymore BTW). Add all the trans purple (like amethyst), and Onua looks feels very suited to his element and environment to me. All Toa now look closer to their element to me, while also managing to look more mechanical. Maybe that's why I like them so much. I'd explain why I feel that way in detail but I fear I'm posting a bit too much here I think I'll get all Toa, even if I don't keep them 100% together (since I plan to combine at least some of them with their 2015 forms). Getting Umarak and Uxar for sure, most likely Terak and Ikir too, but I think I'll skip Akida and Ketar. I skipped LoSS and the Protectors sans Korgot and Izotor, but the sets are so much more attractive this time- I'd like to get everything, but my budget is a bit tight lately.
  16. The problem with that piece is that it's so large and smooth that it looks bland without printing. I have the feeling we're not going to see it for a while though, if at all.
  17. Thanks, I'll fix that. Overall I don't mind the extra height, but I'm a bit worried about the limbs length too. Though I'm fine with Onua's build, the idea about using the XL chest with the new torso does appeal to me.
  18. So, after some LDD building and Excel tables here's the data I found. Hopefully I didn't get anything wrong.
  19. More evidence of Kopaka and Melum being the equivalent of 25 Euro, at least in Europe, this time from Swiss shops: 1)Cheaper than MMvsSG 2)More expensive (every set got a markup), but still cheaper than MMvsSG And would anyone be interested in some overly-detailed-calcs-no-one-asked-for that I did detailing how the Toa heights/body builds changed from 2015 to 2016? Anyone?
  20. No problem, but it's not very hard to do, it just takes some time. Did it all on Paint. I don't think I'll do more stuff for now, though. These pieces are new and fairly easy to draw, but I don't see a point in recreating other stuff. It's quite interesting that we switched from 9M tall torsos to 11M torsos, which used to be exclusive for Titans, for mid size figures (*). I thought it'd remain exclusive for the SW figures so I'm surprised. I don't mind it, it's not that the 9M torso is suddenly banned from MOCs anyway. The characters do look more slender and regal this way, but it's a matter of preference. And the fact we finally get some form of waist articulation after two abandoned attempts in 2007 is a huge plus. And back armour is still incredibly easy to add! And yeah, unfortunately trans purple is very dark IRL. It will still look good but not pack the same punch as in those pictures. * I don't think the 20 Euro price point can be considered Titan size anymore at this point, though Tahu and Umarak skirt the line with their 29 modules. Yes, I did find a way to measure the height and shoulder width of each Uniter+Umarak.
  21. Not surprising, Luke is quite probably the blandest of the 2015 figures. I don't know what they were excepting..Now, Finn is definitely a better set, but he's not worth that price. And that 3M axle looks pretty useful! And the Dark Brown isn't that bad.
  22. I still think K&M is 25 Euro in Europe. Three shops from two different countries (Italy and Germany) imply this, it has to mean something. 30 Euro is just too much. Melum's ok, but there isn't a Shadow Trap included so "Melum Creature of Ice" couldn't be a standalone set. And Kopaka is closer to the smaller Toa in terms of build, lacking Onua's or Tahu's stuff (limbs length, armour, etc). 25 Euro/dollars is the right price no matter how you look at it. If they're 30 Euro I'm going to disappointed- it's not just about paying 5 Euro more (though it is annoying), it's about Lego asking consumers to pay more to get less. Yeah, I do see it now. It's looking kind of bad, but the connection is eerily similar. I mean, there's still the new SW torso, and the two pieces probably wouldn't be very useful on their own, but.. permanently fusing two large pieces together like that is kind of odd on their part. So I guess this should be accurate now?
  23. I heard that rumour over 4chan, but it seemed odd. He is the only character with two weapons and a gearbox, but.. thinking of it, it's perfectly possible that this is the case. Either Finn will sell in virtue of the "Main character effect" (which I guess is what they attempted with the UK release of Luke, who was priced like Obi Wan), or he will flop horribly.
  24. I noticed, Rey's arms connect directly to her gearbox, without any space for small gears, unlike Finn and the 2015 Toa. Does that mean she's using a 3M version of this? Aaaaaaaand my point stands. I definitely have to get Phasma:-2 silver shoulder pads -2 silver leg armour pieces -2 silver 6M shells (all new and unique to this set) -4 friction extenders -2 dark bley 7M upper leg bones (still don't have any of those, and I want a bunch of them) -New Star Wars gun -That sweet cape, of course. And other fairly common but still useful parts. Though, the first report on prices listed a second $25 set. It can't be Finn, right? That'd be pretty ridiculous, but then again this is Lego "Overpriced" Star Wars..
  25. I was thinking more about how he voices Izaiya from Durara, which is a mix of bored and mischievous that I like for Lewa. The other VA I picked for Kopaka voices Byakuya in Bleach, who has a similar cold and cocky attitude and has that kind of deep voice I imagine for Kopaka. And below is my reply to DuplexBeGreat, which I originally wanted to post on the 2016 Sets Topic but since it spawned into a rambling on Umarak and the 2016 story I decided to dump post it here:
