  1. @DuplexBeGreat Nice, I love Umarak, Lewa and Uxar too. I always had a thing for green (and black) sets, but a few failures (Kongu Mahri, Gorast, Vastus) and the domination of lime (which looks nice as an accent, but has kind of tired me out at this point) kind of spoiled them for me. I really like bright green and its transparent version and all green sets have been pretty great so far for me. I replied to your comment on Umarak, but it ended up getting into storyline territory, so I'll post it on the other topic. Ah, I see it now, you meant the "old" torso bone! Yeah, I missed one pinhole. No need to apologize, this is supposed to be an accurate representation so it's good you pointed it out. Gonna fix it later or tomorrow when I'm at home. So the Uniter torso is 10M including the hips correct? Since it's one module shorter than the 11M Titan torso bone. Overall, a figure with the old torso should always be one module taller than one with the Uniter torso, provided their legs are of the same length. I'm not sure of what to say about the hip because I don't have a turntable piece myself. Are you saying that the hip would be permanently attached to the gear, like the on the Protector miniguns? Or would it be a tweaked version that makes sure that doesn't happen?
  2. I updated it before, added the large torso bone and, as a bonus, the new torso bone Finn, Rey and most likely Kylo have: You drew seven O holes, but I only see six. And the space under the last hole from the top doesn't seem to occupy more than 1M to me. But.... if the SW torso (adding the length of the neck) is as tall as the full Uniter torso (bone+hip), it does make sense if both are 11M. The 2015 SW figures used the large torso (11M) and Finn and Kylo reuse the 2015 shell- meaning their torso, adding the neck, should amount to 11M as well. So, your version should be correct, it's that I still don't see it myself.
  3. Thank you, now you're making me post my Japanese cast (which does not follow the Toa voices from the Japanese MoL dub). Some choices feel a bit different from the voices I described above, but I think they work fairly well: Tahu: Toshiyuki Morikawa Kopaka: Ryotarou Okiayu Onua: Akio Ootsuka Pohatu: Katsuyuki Konishi Lewa: Hiroshi Kamiya Gali: Miyuki Sawashiro Umarak: Naoya Uchida.
  4. I don't see any space for ball joints here. Seems like the gearbox cover has a pin connection, so the figures with the gearbox turn their head side to side only, like minifigs. The idea of a torso bone without arms and neck seems useful, but the way the gearbox cover has been handled is nothing short of questionable.
  5. There'd be no point for me to list an Italian cast (or a Japanese one like the weeb I am), so I'll just point out some aspects of the English voice acting I'd enjoy: Tahu: Deep, gruff and hotblooded. I mean, it's Tahu. Kopaka: Deep, smooth and quiet, but with a snarky tone. Onua: Like Kopaka's but a bit older sounding. And please drop the dumb brute voice the English narrator gave him because it didn't fit him at all. Pohatu: Like Tahu's, but slightly higher. Lewa: A bit hoarse and nasal, slighlty younger sounding than the others, and snarky of course. Gali: A powerful but calm voice, with a hint of snark at times. And obviously female. : P Umarak: a deep, smooth voice. I don't see him as hotblooded, he's closer to Kopaka (as a cold, intelligent hunter), without the snark and with a menacing and creepy tone when needed (like Kulta's "And I will have plenty of time.."). EDIT: Oh, come on! One time I don't edit my post, I have to do it anyway because the forum posted the message twice on the same post. :P
  6. Aw, yeah, the ball joint! I actually meant to put it but I forgot. Is it 2M? Looked like one module to me, but I wasn't sure. But looking at it again, you might be right. Yeah, there should be a O hole on the hip, but putting it would've forced me to redraw the entire piece to be bigger (while the pieces look proportionate, some empty spaces aren't accurate due to working with pixels). And it was getting late (it was 2 AM over here), so I chose to skip it, thinking it didn't matter much. Might somehow add it later. I guess it is, but I'm unsure about the ratchet mechanism myself so take it with a pinch of salt. Are you saying the turntable mechanism is one? So is it fused to the new bone? Or is it separate? Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated!
  7. Assuming the crystal add-ons on their arms represent wings for them, Terak might be a bat given the cave setting, and Melum is.. eeeehmm.. I dunno, a rhino/owl ice dragon thing?Funnily, all other Creatures represent real life animals (Ikir is clearly Phoenix, but still looks like a normal bird), but those two are an enigma. I hope for no mask stealing either- not only it'd be a rehashed plot, set-wise the Toa don't need a third set of recolours of their masks like this year. Just give some love to the villains for once: head/mask in its regular colour (whatever it might be)+fully transparent version? And I did these, might do the nowadays forgotten larger torso bone later. Hopefully they're accurate. Not sure if the gear halves are fused to the new pieces or not. Either way, the new torso bone is great! Looks like you can put a gearbox on it too!
  8. I think it is a regular pin connection, while the ratcheted patterns are on the inner circle (or however you call them, sorry I suck at describing this stuff in Italian, so imagine how it is in English : S) of the hip piece and the upper gear+torso(+neck?) modified bone. So between the gears, the ratchets and the pin, the friction should be more than enough, avoiding the floppy waist syndrome that hit 2003 Ter Makuta.
  9. The only Lego cape big enough to fit Grievous is the famous 2009 Darth Vader cape from his 2002 Technic figure/statue. Now, if I could just remember where I put it...
  10. Nice work. Yeah, I assumed as much. I wonder if there's a way to make the torso a bit taller- the torso itself, so no neck lengthening tricks. I think I'm going to make his legs a bit longer, and shorten Tahu because Mata Nui Tahu stop towering above your Toa brothers and sisters (yeah, I know, leader and all. But I still don't like it). Looks like the 2016 Mask of Earth has side openings for horns to attach, like the 2015 version, the MoCR and the villain masks. Will the Beasts steal the Toa Masks and temporarily wear them like the Skeletons did this year? I hope for something different this time, a recoloured variant of the Beast heads/masks for example (hopefully not gold though, lol). If they really steal the Masks again, though, they definitely can't follow the "gold fading to trans colour" style again, for obvious reasons. Also, I noticed that Gali and Lewa have black hips, it's quite obvious since they don't match their silver torso shell. I think that's precisely why they recoloured it, to set the torso and the hips apart and make them not seem like one big blob of silver. Wise. Again, maybe the Beasts are going to reuse those black hips, provided they don't have another type of torso build.
  11. Pretty sure Kylo Ren and Phasma are 25, since they're roughly on par with Obi Wan. If Phasma is 20 Euro, though, I'm getting her for sure.
  12. I actually like light bley axles more than black ones since they look like screws. Yellow would be pretty bad if it took over, but somehow I wouldn't find it as awful as the red in 2M axles. I even learned to tolerate blue O+ pins since I have very few black ones and CCBS doesn't use them much. And completely changing subject, Umarak is listed as 28 cm tall, a full 5 cm taller than Tahu, but doesn't that include his antlers? I've seen someone on TTV who built his legs on LDD and compared them to Tahu's and they were the exact same height. Is his torso any taller than the one the Uniters use? Doesn't seem that way to me.
  13. Pohatu Mata/Nuva? That brown has been discontinued a while ago. I'm pretty sure it's Dark Brown. What about Finn? I hope that's Pohatu Okoto's Dark Orange, even if it's not true to his minifig. I don't think anyone's interested in Dark Flesh hands since we don't have any shells in that colour. And there are lots of pics up un Lego's cache. Seems like the figures with gearbox have some sort of pin neck connection instead of a classic ball joint. How odd.. The sets are pretty much of no interest to me, but I do welcome the new recolours (first new orange shell since 2012!) and robes, and I might get Phasma on clearance for all that silver armour and that sweet cape.
  14. You certainly can't be blamed for not remembering about those. They were introduced in Rocka XL in light bley and reused in XT4, but it wasn't until this year that they were picked up again by the designers, recoloured in dark bley and finally used regularly in sets (starting from the Star Wars battle figures).
  15. I have very little to complain about these. The backs are decent, the builds are custom enough, the masks look great (the MoCo looks better!), and my my Kopaka, Onua, Lewa and Umarak look AWESOME. Also, hooray for Lewa and Umarak the Fairy Types!
  16. That would mean their hip piece has been recoloured in black from the silver one the Uniters have. Guess silver looked too robotic.
  17. I've been looking at how the sets are built. It seems that Rey and Finn (and Kylo Ren) have gearboxes, but there are no unused ball joints on their torsos. And Finn's head is attached to a dark bley (like the gearboxes) neck ball joint, which might or not be part of the gearbox itself. The hips on both seem black, which means that, even if you remove the gearbox section, they do not have a single piece torso. Is there some new CCBS gem hidden under those torso shells, or are the new Uniter body parts more versatile than we thought?
  18. I'm not sure, but I think it might be there to store extra stud projectiles, like Umarak's disk/wheel thing that is attached to his blade.
  19. Well, I finally got my hands on Grievous and HOLY WOW. What a fun build and what a colossal, cool looking and well articulated figure. I know everyone has said how huge he is already.. but, yeah, he really is huge- I'm not used to sets this big anymore. This is an extremely impressive work of design. Seriously, if you have doubts, don't and buy him now. And if you don't have the money, save it up. But definitely don't miss this one out. It's one of the most impressive sets in a long time and we need more stuff like this. I can only hope Umarak the Destroyer reaches this fine level.
  20. Speaking of masks and eyes, I hope the eye sockets on the new masks are large enough to grant sufficient back lighting (that's how it's called, right?) for the eyes to glow. Most of the 2015 masks made that nearly impossible.
  21. Funnily enough, out of the original 6 I always thought the Kakama was one of the more feminine looking ones, and now the new Mask of Stone is closer to it than the 2015 version was. It's very subjective though.
  22. Finding them isn't hard, you need to look for the right name, but I won't hint at it any further.
  23. Guuuys! I found another Italian web shop with the sets and prices. Kopaka and Melum is 26 Euro, tho ugh that might translate to 25, it seems like an odd number. (EDIT: Skull Warrior, Lewa and the other mid size sets are 15,50 Euro and MM vs SG is 31 Euro so yeah, it must be a markup the site decided on). What's more, the images (finalized ones) are larger, at around 900 x 1260. The CONFIDENTIAL watermark's still there.. All Toa masks do indeed have the Nuva symbols embedded, and the MoCo does have a symbol on its forehead as well, but it doesn't look like Okoto or Mata Nui to me, but it's very faint and hard to see. The Creature heads have a lot of rune-like details, and Umarak's mask has all those lines we already saw. These masks are VERY well designed, the work put into the new pieces is just insane. Can I link it? Thanks! Yep, I'll do it.
  24. Yeah, but the small glowing carvings on the box art show that Onua's combination is the exact same as Kopaka's (the exact same drawings representing Melum/Terak and Kopaka/Onua. They aren't even trying to hide that Melum is a copy of Terak), with Terak's paws turning into shoulder pads. So Onua has that type of combo too. And speaking of which, anyone plan to mod Melum a bit? I think it needs longer limbs, and possibly something else. Its huge paws and rhino horn pretty much imply these Creatures can be any type of crazy chimera we can think of. And, while none of them are reptiles, their head mold is quite reptilian. Which is to say, I think designers are pretty much implicitly telling us to go all out with these little buggers. So I might try to build a Creature for Ekimu and Umarak (the Hunter) too.
  25. I believe Makuta had boxes with the elements inside when he made the Mask of Ultimate Power, but that might be an excpetion to the rule. The sets box art shows the Golden Masks floating over pedestals sitting on top of crystal-like formations, so maybe they are indeed a natural aspect of Okoto's landscape. We know that masks with powers more similar to the G1 ones exist, maybe the powers these crystals yield depend on their colours or on the region they grow on. Actually I came up with this theory for my BIONICLE headcanon I'm building (which is a combination of G1 and G2), but it'd be cool if G2 actually went down this route. Not to sound arrogant but hey, mining crystals to make Masks sounds pretty cool to me. Actually sounds better than "they're made from disks", which is something I never liked very much I'll be honest.
