  1. I hope the Triple Beast isn't just another hydra.. I'd like to see something more creative done with the heads, something along the lines of good old Beast Wars Megatron. And definitely not a souped up Queen, please no!
  2. I can't believe I forgot about combination models. I guess I was too excited about the Chima Ultrabuilds, heh. I'm curious to see how a Beast+Machine combo would look like but I somehow doubt they'll make one. A triple super Beast is definitely what I'm looking forward the most, especially since the colours probably click together better this time (there's lime/tr. neon green and azure/tr. light blue on all 3 models).
  3. I have to say, while I used to see these purely as parts packs..Fluminox has really grown on me for some reason. I'm actually thinking of adding a somewhat modded version of him to my HF characters collection, probably as a pyromaniac villain of sorts.
  4. I'd have preferred a chest armour add on as well. My guess is that in order for the Zamors to fit, the piece had to be bulky enough to not be fragile- a thin add on piece a la 2.0 chest armour might've been too flimsy.I don't like the new blade either, the detailing is nice, so is the double axle connection, but the shape itself doesn't look very good.
  5. That's great, I agree. The new small claws in tr. light blue are among the pieces I'm looking forward to the most, they'll make the perfect toes for the Beasts. And while we're at it, Battle for Ninjago City includes a pair of "Rocka blades" in gold.
  6. Free app? Knowing Lego, it'll be iOS only. Anyway, there are some neat minifig elements I want from this line...and finally the triple female Technic connector in black!
  7. Say what? I kinda took for granted all European countries got the same sets under the same releases. Well, I think there was a Germany-only line but I might be wrong now.Anyway, I agree, as I said before these might be USA-only. It seems Lego is taking a slightly different approach to USA market this year so I wouldn't be surprised if that happens TBH. Hopefully, if that's the case, Lego will give USA fans the opportunity to buy pieces from the website. These pieces are just too good, everyone should be able to get their hands on them. As for the pics, nothing new (well, I didn't really expect that), the only thing I notice is that Mungus's spike halves appear to be in regular tr. light blue, but I'm not sure. That bluish clear colour from the video looks cool, but I rather have the halves be tr. light blue given what I intend to use them for.
  8. Not sure if you're joking, anyway I never said that.
  9. I realize I'm probably falling for the "new set=best set" syndrome, but I'd give the medal to Queen Beast. She has a unique non humanoid build, a great colour scheme and beautiful printed elements. And she looks very threatening.
  10. June release just like last year! YESS! Makes the wait for HF (which is likely pushed to August like the past years) a bit easier. Sets should be out in stores here on time, too.
  11. I think DV wants to see these sets released just like we all do.. he's a MOCer afterall, the more pieces the better for him. He's just keeping a healthy amount of skepticism so to not feel disappointed in something happens (or does not)- and frankly, so am I.
  12. Well this just keeps getting weirder and weirder. I know Front likes to "troll" sometimes but he's talking about actual sets here (Un like the giant sized HF set he made up.. and I fell for it.. sigh) so I'm not sure if he's allowed to joke here.
  13. If nothing changes, I just hope we'll have more chances to see transparent bones (the second shortest size is still coming in Crystal Beast, but those two sizes aren't enough, you know..). At the very least we're still getting the new armour add on in gold in Queen Beast (it's on her back for those who don't know- I myself didn't notice it until someone pointed it out). Oddly enough, gold was the only colour the Chima sets used as well. It's as if, ironically, they already had the feeling the line would've been canceled. The abundance of new parts and recolours points to otherwise, however.
  14. If it's the same catalog we're talking about, it does feature many sets in their preliminary stage. I remember the silver 5M shells in the spider mech in the HF Queen Beast set being unprinted, whereas they're printed in the final set. Hopefully it's the same for the OL's legs.
  15. PaB aside, you can buy pretty much any part from the Replacement Parts Service section. Prices are more or less in line with PaB and you spend less in shipping fees (about 5 Euro here, it's 13 for regular orders). I bought a bunch of stuff and it arrived in 20 days or so.
  16. Still not interested in the Machines, but gotta love the Beasts. The Queen might be my favourite large villain so far. I can't wait to get those three to build my own take on them. Some designs this year (like Jet Machine and Queen Beast) have been very inspirational for my MOCing purposes!
  17. Brown isn't really my thing, so I wouldn't have found a Spider interesting. A Scorpion, on the other hand.. But the best thing for me would have been the tr. bright green details. Imagine bones in that colour. Really hope the new sets are released in the end. Those tr. light blue bones were gorgeous.
  18. That makes no sense. We have finalized packaging and a recent video presenting the sets. Not to mention there are a bunch of new molds- you know how expensive new molds are. Oh, and they actually stepped up their game this year, with 7 sets instead of 6 (including two bigger ones)- that suggests the opposite of this decision, they put a lot of faith in these sets. Maybe they are Europe-only? It's still really unclear. I've never seen anything like this before, as far as Lego is concerned.Granted, most of the sets look lackluster but the transparent bones, the new chest armour and a few other pieces are FANTASTIC. Seeing these shafted would suck.
  19. It's the best starter set you could buy- two minifigs, all new Beast parts, Beast heads in both styles, useful pieces.. If I had to buy only one Winter set, it'd be this one.
  20. Takanuva's special Avokhii was tr. clear mixed with glitter. This one features no glitter, and the colour definitely isn't tr. clear- it's looks similar, but it's got a bluish tint. I really don't think it's the lightning.. Vardy's ice wings are in a similar colour..and it's much different than his tr. light blue bones. According to, Bricklink there's a colour called tr. very light blue, but it's discounted since 2006. It's either clear (looking different due to lightning) or a whole new colour. It's really odd because at Toy Fair Nuremberg (where all sets were in their final versions) the mace halves were tr. light blue.
  21. So Mungus's mace halves aren't tr. light blue, what's the colour then? It's too light to be tr. medium blue, but too bluish to be tr clear..
  22. That movie Shredder looks great! I hope the minifig does him justice. He could definitely find a place in my ever growing army of bad guys. As for the other minifig I was interested on, Karai, they executed her perfectly. Her make up was faithfully represented, while respecting the minifig aesthetic (so no Clone Wars-esque abomination here). Is Karai in the movie? If so, are we getting another minifig of her?
  23. I totally forgot about the cape! Whilst I prefer proper looking capes to tattered ones, it looks pretty cool anyway. I hope it's easier to attach than Furno's. Another cool piece is the new armour add on, too bad it's only on gold so far. Unfortunately I don't care for the other parts. I strongly dislike tr reddish/neon orange and brown. I love tr light blue, the amount of it we're getting is absolutely crazy. Not sure on what I could with the hands, though.. As for LoC replacing HF, I disagree. The new parts they introduce are no less compatible with HF than last year's parts were. The pieces used in 2012's Super Heroes have been used in HF lots of times, same goes for the parts on the 2013 Chima figures: just think about the fur piece reused by Frost Beast and his jagged blade. Queen Beast is using the new armour add on on her abdomen, and I definitely expect the torso with the chest orb to be reused on a HF villain (those orbs are Zamor- that means that the available colours are endless!). So I wouldn't worry, these sets don't certainly spell HF's demise.
  24. It happened again! Like with Dragon Bolt, who was 20 dollars in USA but 25 Euro in Europe. Good thing I didn't plan on buying the Queen, but this definitely seals the deal for me. Not gonna pay 40 Euro for 3 minifigs I already own and a Machine I have no use for just to get a 20 Euro figure. Looks like I'll build her from my collection, then I'll buy the pieces I need.
  25. Well, it sure never reached Italian stores, but apparently it was a worldwide release, like DV said. I must say that, while I felt a bit curious about the building system, not even as a kid I was interested in the sets..they looked kind of bland. I definitely felt the K'nex influence, which I never really liked either. It didn't help that my cousin, who had a lot of them, would keep trying to force on me his opinion that Knex was better than Lego... I see you can build some pretty amazing things with Knex however, same for Znap. Anyway, let's just say that, Lego aside, the other building toys seem kind of..lacking in personality to me, that is why Znap didn't feel very Lego-esque to me. Some pretty ugly colours too. Returning to Chima, I think I won't buy any set afterall. The only designs that seem truly interesting are Fangar and Mungus- I mean the torso structure for those two, I'm curious to see how those are built. I'm just interested in the tr. light blue bones and the new torsos.
