  1. Looking at Flea Machine again, it looks like the claw on top is a flick missile. And speaking of the claw, is this piece in black I see?
  2. Are those new claws on the Walker's front legs? I can't quite figure out the colour of the good guys' Chi. I'm heading towards tr. flame yellow, a relatively rare colour I'm very fond of and I'd like to see more of.
  3. Once again, thanks for the pics! So CB is using a staff like in the game, and the set includes a cocoon. Neat, but do those two alone explain the missing parts? It still doesn't feel worth the money to me, unlike the other 15 Euro sets.Rather than a mid size set like Flyer Beast, CB looks like souped up 9 Euro set. That said, what I'm worried the most about is that CB's torso shell looks a shade lighter than the body: that printed torso shell is a part I'm very excited about, so it being titanium metallic would kill it for me. Then again, it might be the lightning, (what I assume to be) the lower jaw looks pretty light too. Speaking of Flyer Beast, I know what I'm talking about because I got it yesterday! As I thought, the left arm and the wings suck. But once you mod it a bit, it's a fantastic villain. The colour scheme, which I was unsure about, looks really cool in person. And I love Breez! She's so swooshable!
  4. Seems like the Mammoths are olive green and the Vultures (that's one attacking Razar, right?) are white. It's odd because the Sabretooth Tigers are white too (Fangar at least). Ah well, Gorzan was white black like the Ravens so I guess it can work, even on a Ultrabuild scale. EDIT: Grah, black! Not white.
  5. So, according to the list we got, Combat Machine has 188 pieces, while the count is 194 according to the box. Well since it's preliminary I'd trust the list more. Still, it's got we're getting it in a box while Evo XL M. came in a bag. Wait, are you talking about Queen Beast? I'm pretty sure that is azure, like the other Beasts. Unless you're talking about Combat Machine.
  6. I have to say I agree on your points, ShadowWolfHount. SB's colour scheme looks cool at first glance, but then you realize it's quite a mess. Tr. reddish orange and solid o range don't look good together, and no Beast uses titanium metallic, which on the other hand is heavily used by the Machines (ruins the colour language, IMO). Still, I get why it's like that. The t. metallic chest and 4M shells, the tr. reddish orange claws and 3M shells..they're all recolours introduced in 2013. Seems they're just reusing unused parts to cut costs. Well, as for Evo I grew fond of the idea of him having blue eyes, that red head just looks totally random (just like it did in 2012).
  7. Actually that's part of the Summer wave we already knew about, still thanks for the link! Seems like she has tr neon green cladding. Neat.
  8. The Phoenixes were barely visible in one of the catalogue shots of the Palace. Unsurprisingly they were similar to the Eagles, one was orange and the other light yellow.
  9. No kidding, Tarix was absolutely awful. His blades are awesome though, I recently used them on a HF villain MOC.
  10. Dunno, while I dislike the Lions I find that outfit pretty cool looking (once again, it could be useful for Castle- Phoenix Knights of something like that?). I just hope it doesn't translate into a red and gold mess in the CHI figures. Sir Fangar looks pretty cool as well. Are those..muscles showing? Pretty gory, nice!
  11. I figured Tunneler Beast's pieces were made by cocoon pieces, the problem is that I wasn't completely sure if the Queen set actually included those cocoons, till now. It's a cool idea, though I'm still not fond of TB very much, the red in particular rubs me in the wrong way. The cocoon sections looking like leaves makes sense I guess, since it seems the Beasts are born from flowers. Reptile-insect-plant hybrids..how quaint. And of course Huw had to diss HF again, though I guess he behaved better than usual. And HF wasn't the only theme he made fun of.
  12. Bumping for great justice: http://static3.wikia.nocookie.net/cm4sci/images/4/4b/Retailercatalog2014.jpg (taken from the main LoC thread). Laval wears red clothes, while Sir Fangar has white fur and tr. light blue arms. Both wear gold armour. After seeing that pic, I'm 99% sure the ice villains in their CHI sets feature tr. light blue cladding. What about the fire based heroes? Luckily, it seems the (IMO) tacky and unnatural looking tr. reddish orange is being avoided. It would awesome if they got tr. flame orange instead (which actually looks like real fire, and was mixed with tr. red in te so called Pyrox flames..which looked gorgeous BTW) but shells in that colour don't exist so I doubt we'd get them now. And, I hope they aren't drowned by red shells- that would suck.
  13. Ah, thanks! That seems much better. Surge Combat Machine (Honestly Battle Machine sounded better, oh well) is 25 Euro, slightly less pieces than Evo XL Machine but better play value IMO.
  14. That just strengthens my argument more. Yes, it's 3 minifigs, a big villain and a small mech, but 217 pieces for anything more than 40 Euro is absurd: The Queen alone is a 20 Euro set, the spider Machine with Evo is a 10 Euro set, add Stormer, Furno and some equipment... Yeah, 35 Euro is reasonable. I can tolerate 5 more Euro, for the play value and the Queen's unique printed elements. Anything beyond is just too much. I just hope Surge's Machine doesn't go beyond the 25 Euro price point.
  15. I stopped taking Brickset seriously when their Toy Fair (London IIRC) report last year called the CHI Ultrabuild figures "HORRIBLE". Yes, in all caps. I don't care which themes you like or dislike, that's utterly unrespectful and immature.
  16. Did you find the British prices somewhere? 60 Euro (since, while incorrect, they always make a 1:1 conversion between dollars and Euro) sounds way too much. Rocka Jet Machine was 35 Euro for 259 pieces, though there were no new molds or recolours (except the tr. green cockpit I think). 40 Euro would be...decent I guess, but still overpriced IMO.
  17. Really hard to say..I prefer doing a list of favourite(s) per wave like Takanuinuva: Rise of the Rookies: Furno Bike Ordeal of Fire: Nex or Stormer. Honourable mention to Jetbug and Evo. Savage Planet: Fangz Breakout: Breez, Core Hunter or Stringer. Honourable mention to Thornraxx, Splitface and Bulk. Brain Attack: Furno or Stormer. Honourable mention to Surge. Invasion from Below: Splitter Beast or Queen Beast. Honourable mention to Surge Combiner Machine.
  18. Just saw the pic again, looks like Aaanchir's right. Interesting idea, but I can't say I care much for it. I wonder if it means something for the new CHI Ultrabuilds.
  19. http://brickfanatics...oy-fair-report/ They basically described the general theme of the year, but oh well, I didn't expect anything more (at least they weren't snarky about it, like, say, Brickset usually is). At least the GITD printing on Crystal Beast and the Queen are confirmed. No info on the LoC CHI figures, disappointingly.
  20. I definitely agree. Those 3 incredibly useful pieces introduced in Breakout (double C, friction socket extender, oOo liftarm) were introduced in dark bley pieces and they left it at that. That always annoyed me..making a titan with a pure black skeleton is impossible this way.
  21. I imagine that's the reason with Stringer. Still surprising to me, though, since Onua, Whenua and Nuparu obviously sold decently enough for black Toa to survive throughout the entire run of BIONICLE (unlike what happened with brown sets). However, I really can't explain Nex. It appears (solid) orange in general has been forgotten. BA Bulk, Bruizer and Splitter Beast avoided it as much as possible, limiting it to just a few bits and prefering tr. reddish orange instead. Transparent shells were one of BA's main motifs, but there's hardly an excuse for IfB sets.
  22. Worst post-new building system HF set is definitely Scarox, closely followed by Evo Walker. An utter insult to the system and to the buyers. I got it at 6,50 Euro for the parts, and I still feel kinda ripped off. Worst BIONICLE set? Probably Gali Mistake-a. My least favourite Slizer was Rock, but I liked them all really.
  23. That's quite the point you make there Aanchir. Of all the sets, we should keep an eye on Surge's Machine and on the Queen for interesting new parts. JANG's models might be pretty accurate but he's not all knowing, so I think some things are missing (especially on those two sets).
  24. Even with the title change, I'm afraid this topic still make no sense to me. You're taking extremely widespread concepts from sci-fi, fantasy, mythology and religion and accusing Lego because they took inspiration from them. The thing is....everyone does. These concept don't really belong to anyone, nor were they invented by the artists and works you mentioned. Bruizer is just another stone giant like the Jewish Golem, Kaiju and giant mechas have been part of Japanese pop culture since forever, and Half Life certainly didn't invent the parasite monster archetype.
  25. My dead topic got revived, AND Front posted on it too! This is a lucky day for me! I agree, that bone size was used on Rocka XL and him only, right? It's so weird we haven't seen it since. It'd be useful to make extra-long legs and arms without always having to resort to the longest bones or friction socket extenders.
