  1. I really want that Villain Pack. Kulta's mask just looks great in gold, reminding me of the Mesoamerican aesthetic even more. And I'd try to build some sort of super-Kulta with it, or maybe use it as armour.
  2. Grievous shows what CCBS should be all about. On the other hand, Vader shows what happens when CCBS and Technic are integrated together well. Leave it to the designers to shut up those who say that you can't build large and good looking models with CCBS. Both fantastic sets and really fun builds, I hope BIONICLE draws inspiration from them next year. Can't wait to get my hands on all this good stuff- pieces, builds, oh my! Yeah, I imagine a 30 dollars/Euro BIONICLE set to have a bit more pieces and have a function compared to the SW sets which are "pure" action figures, but I don't see them getting any bigger than Vader and Grievous. I don't even think we need something bigger than Grievous, who is as tall as Witch Doctor and only slightly shorter than freaking Kardas.
  3. All in all I think HF did its jobs (covering for BIONICLE's absence, introducing CCBS, paving the way for G2) fairly well. The G2 sets feel like they're on another level thanks to the gearboxes (more complex and thicker builds), the masks and the other new pieces, but they wouldn't be so good if Lego didn't experiment with HF first. I think it's a mix of aquired experience and a more ambitious attitude (since HF was always "just there" while Lego is clearly betting more on BIONICLE).
  4. Really cool. The Japanese style can be seen at first glance. A simple but very effective leg design. Though I would've kept the printing on his chest, it seemed it would've fit really well.
  5. I guess I agree it's somewhat hard for Lego themes, especially considering this topic is pretty small compared to the Sets one. I'd suggest trying to see how this works, and let VBBN decide what's best. (Meanwhile, I am convinced the Wishlist topic should remain separate)
  6. ^ Thanks! So no one got/built DV and Obi Wan yet, I take? I'm curious about how the former looks and how the latter's cape works (is it the same one as Vader's? How does it attach? Etc..).
  7. Well, I personally didn't mean to derail the topic, I was keeping it to story-related speculation. But I had to discuss the list in order to get to the topic. What I'm interested in the most is Makuta, if he's alive/active and if he's directly responsible for the Skull Spiders and/or the revival of Kulta and the Skull Army. Hopefully the books shed some light on these, otherwise I guess it's going to be revealed later on in order to keep Makuta's current status a mystery.
  8. Umarak was called Mask Hunter in the very first list I saw, the one with the Ghost sets. It's on the second post of the 2016 sets topic. That one included Kopaka as a single set, but the rest of the list was in line with the second preliminary (?) one and the final one. That reminds me of that Summer 2012 HF list, which included sets called "Core Drainer" and "Stormer Lgd", along weird stuff like "Dynamo", "Flash Freeze" and new Heroes...a week or more (can't remember) before the real list was leaked. I wonder if those are preliminary lists or works of people who have the list but can't leak it so they tweak it a bit to throw us a bone. But I guess we'll never know the truth. Melum is in a 2-in-1 set with Kopaka, and there's no "vs" in there, so I doubt the Creatures are going to be enemies with the Toa, at least not permanently. Umarak has to be a villain, they'd never call a good guy "hunter", think of the marketing aspect.
  9. Well, this isn't much of a theory. Umarak is called the Hunter and we're assuming he's there to hunt the creatures. That might be it, but in the first list we got Umarak was called "Mask Hunter". The Mask tidbit was dropped from the final name but the intention might be still there. Maybe Umarak is a minion/creation of Makuta sent to steal the Toa masks? And it occured to me, we still don't know where the Skull Spiders+LoSS+Gold SS Mask come from, if they're in any way related to the Skull Army, and where Makuta falls into this.
  10. Well, let's try to make a comprehensive wishlist. BIONICLE -More good looking and multi-purpose weapons -Masks in more than one colour, like 2015 -More colours for the piston add-on (red, black, titanium metallic, etc) -New bone colours -More cool printed designs -A cape that fits gearboxes -Mask of Control in at least two colours- gold and titanium metallic/black would be ideal. I do think we'll see Makuta wearing it before the MoUP, as it's clearly designed to be a villain mask (those ram horns!) AND to be reminiscient of the Kraahkan -A proper, Darth Vader/Grievous level Titan (30-35 Euro) as Summer's Big Bad. Not necessarily Makuta, though I'd except the same treatment for him whenever his time comes. STAR WARS -More colours for the new parts -Purple lightsaber? -More capes (I'd really like a white or tan one- enough with black ones) -C3PO (gold hands! Gold armour!) -Yoda and Boba (sand and possibly olive green) -At least another Titan
  11. Anyone noticed that , at 0:19, Kopaka's back shell is tr. light blue? Would've been cool to get it, though it might be just a mistake.
  12. Technically September IS Summer. : P But yeah, that's why I always get the Summer sets via S@H. But I'm waiting this time, because I want to savour them. And.. I gotta study. And.. I'm broke.
  13. I like the tr. neon green myself. But I do agree, more brown and less silver on him. This reminds me: more hand colours. 12 out of the 19 2015 figures (figueres, not sets, I'm keeping Kulta and Ekimu separate) have silver fists. I'd like more elemental colours, be they solid or transparent. Gold and titanium hands would be great too. More feet colours would be good too. Metru colours do look more villainous, but I wonder if they could slip one or two of them in the Creature sets. Though it seems that these days some dark colours have been replaced by transparent colours (tr. dark blue is close enough to dark blue).
  14. I actually agree. The constant flux of new colours has been nice, but I'd rather see it stop for a bit and get more recolours for the Toa you mentioned. Maybe give Gali tr. dark blue to distinguish her from Kopaka, but no need for new colours. More pieces in the secondary colours would be good too, both for shells (tr. purple, tr. light blue in 5M/6M) and bones (tr. reddish orange, tr. dark blue, tr. neon green, tr. purple).Oh, and I really want a new torso piece, more so than a new foot. The 2.0 shell is incredibly bland in my eyes, and that's why I replaced it with the Breakout one for my Toa. Alternatively, the Brain Attack shell in new colours. But something like this would be the best darn thing.
  15. Not the worst (I don't know which one I'd give that award to), but it sits pretty low on my list. The Phantoka Makuta were really cool, Toa Ignika was awesome and I'm biased towards Lewa. But the other Toa were very bland and too different from their old forms (with only a few elements being actually good, like Kopaka's wings, Onua's shield and his "that's a Kraahkan, sweetie" mask), the Mistika Makuta had very weak designs, the Avtoran were terrible aside from their masks, and while they were very well designed sets I didn't care for the Vehicles very much. Also, there were only two Titans. Ah shoot, I edited the wrong post.
  16. (I was supposed to post this yesterday, the post was completed and all but I legit korgot to hit the Add reply button. Let's add some quotes so that the post feels less random) Gold and purple aren't strictly hero colours. Gold has been used on a few villains, namely Brutaka, Speeda Demon, Scarox and Queen Beast as far as constraction goes. As for purple, Voltix, Skull Basher and Antimatter (Ultra Agents) are a nice proof of that- plus tr. purple looks less vibrant and more evil than solid purple (lilac) in my opinion, like a dark stormy sky. The Overlord in Ninjago even used both colours. But without much black/titanium metallic/red/trans reddish orange (Lego's favourite evil colours) to even them out yeah, those are more on the heroic side. I can see Protector Makuta working as a "flashback set" of sorts, it's just that special small sized figures that exist outside the yearly group of six small sets (Dume, Ekimu) are never sold on their own. HF did its own thing 2012 onwards, but BIONICLE and its formula are much stricter about that. And, just some personal rambling to finish the post. If the "kids have to tell heroes and villains apart" rule wasn't in effect, I'd gladly have a demonic titan clad in gold and purple as Makuta. Having him start out as a ruined and dark creature and have him recover his power to turn into a regal, strong and dangerous villain- just like his brother (minus the villain part...I...guess). I like looks/personality contrast in general- villains who look majestic and regal and heroes who look dark. But I'll stop, I'm fully on wishful thinking territory now.
  17. Yeah, that's what I hope, the combination idea was really good and I hope it's real. As for my ideas: Fire: Salamander, that's the best known fire creature..aside from the dragon, which would however require a much higher price point. I did like the phoenix idea though. Jungle: bird since that seems to Lewa's theme. I can see a chameleon or an ape too. Water: yes, a frog! Or a shark, as a reference to Gali's leg fins. Ice: I suppose a polar bear could work for the ice theme, but for Kopaka I can't think of anything better than a wolf. Stone: the scorpion part actually took me by surprise because to Lego insects and arachnids always equal to villains. A goat would be an awesome homage, but I love the armadillo and kangaroo ideas. Earth: definitely a crab, yes!
  18. imnotevenmad.jpg Neckir has been a jerk, no doubt. But the set names are still there, it's still "upgraded versions of the 6 Toa we know and love+their 6 elemental pets vs the evil hunter". And starting from that premise, I'm trusting the designers who gave us the (mostly) excellent 2015 sets. All I hope is that the Creatures are varied enough and that Umarak isn't black and red/tr orange. : P (though if he is, I'm going to wonder if there's any story significance). I guess the biggest mystery are the Creatures themselves, since Umarak is of course going to be a humanoid. I'm hoping for some original picks, like the bird and the wolf (which was just perfect for Kopaka), a frog would be cool too.
  19. I was wondering about Makuta myself. They have to somehow slip the gold MoCO, even if it might be black or gray in his current form (Makuta wearing the MoUP sounds too much of endgame material to me). I'm not even sure if Makuta is getting a set form in 2016, we might get an external villain (like Kulta) or a liutenant (like LoSS might've been) as the year's final boss. Or maybe Umarak is the main villain for the entire year, but I somehow doubt it. Either way, we might get Protector Makuta as an excuse to somehow release the gold MoCo, as it is going to be the symbol of the year just like the MoCr is for this one. Something like a morally flipped MMvsSG with a larger Ekimu could work, but it sounds like it'd be one of those non canon sets (considering what happened to Ekimu, would Makuta really be able to return to his original form?), like Lhikan and Kikanalo. I'm not sure if Lego wants to repeat that type of confusion. A Makuta+Creature set would be easier to justify, but by Summer the Creatures theme might be done with in order to get to the wave's motif. It'd be kind of releasing a Tournament of Elements set among the current ghost-themed wave of Ninjago. A third way to get the MoCo could be keeping Makuta out of the picture and having Summer's main villain somehow find the mask and include it in his/her (oh who am I kidding) set. The year could end with the villain accidentally or intentionally managing to use the Mask to revive Makuta.
  20. I'd love to see a Toa wielding a lightsaber, if anyone could post that. Kopaka with one of Grievous's blue sabers would probably be the best combination. I wonder if anyone is going to find/post Obi Wan and Vader soon.
  21. Probably the small sets (9-10 Euro) sets during 2011-2012 and 2014 (I have.. issues with 2013 in general). They weren't as flashy as, say, Core Hunter or Breakout Rocka, but there were some underappreciated gems among them (the 2.0 Heroes, Breakout Stringer, Thornraxx, Jaw Beast, Tunneler Beast,).
  22. Wow. I'm loving how the sets sound. I wasn't sure of having the small sets be creatures at first (as that would've prevented getting new masks/mask recolours in my eyes), but the creature choices are for once (aside from the obligatory scorpion) original. A CCBS bird finally! And a wolf too! And the idea of combining the creatures with the Toa sounds way cool, reminds me of Power Rangers for some reason. Not hyped about the blended weapons, I prefer fully metallic ones as they're far more versatile, but it depends how they look I guess. Since they're packed together, I'm guessing Kopaka and Melum aren't a large figure (20 Euro)+small figure (10 Euro) Toa/creature couple like Onua/mole* and Tahu/bird* but more akin to two ≈15 Euro sets. Otherwise the point of a combo pack would be kind of defeated. Umarak sounds, ahem, edgy, but a good type of edge it would seem, and his weapons sound more original than the usual staff or sword big bads usually wield. Plus he has no red for once, thankfully. I built a black and titanium metallic MOC, and he looks super evil (well, his colours do, I'm not going to brag about the MOC's looks), so I'm glad they're trying this colour scheme out. But wow, this stuff better be real, boy I'm hyped. So Nekchir, did all Toa keep their 2015 colours aside from Lewa? Does Onua introduce any new tr. purple parts? And do all 6 Toa+Umarak use the gearbox? * I still don't remember the Creatures' names, nor the Protectors', I guess HF kinda made me lose the ability to memorize wierd names.
  23. Sau..ahem, source? I hope it's not another black one, we have plenty of those already. But a cape that works with the gearbox build would be excellent no matter the colour.
  24. Pretty sure Mandate is making a reference to Jaller Mahri and his Hahnah crab.
  25. Full list so far Small sets (9.99 Euro) 71300 Uxar Creature of the Jungle 71301 Ketar Creature of Stone 71302 Akida Creature of Water 71303 Ikir Creature of Fire 71304 Terak Creature of Earth Medium sets (14.99 Euro) 71305 Lewa Unifier of the Jungle 71306 Pohatu Unifier of Stone 71307 Gali Unifier of Water Large sets (19.99 Euro) 71308 Tahu Unifier of Fire 71309 Onua Unifier of Earth 71310 Umarak the Hunter Basically, like the 2015 Winter wave, minus LoSS and with Umarak replacing Kopaka as the third large set. It feels weird that they keep Onua as a large set while Kopaka either disappears or gets downgraded to a medium set (since I somehow doubt they'd make 4 large set in one wave). Aren't Ice sets supposed to be super popular?
