  1. There's a LEGO Truck in that LEGO Truck Price/piece count sucks for the truck ($35/278p) but it has lots of big panels, and the fact that it's an overall nice truck, I'll get this one. Also, not exactly CITY/Town, but it's minifg scaled... http://www.flickr.com/photos/fbtbnet/4358322616/
  2. Nice. I get a new job by that time as well. Incoming 5 GE's! (j/k) ....but at least one for a start $150 confirmed is sweet.
  3. I think it's awesome (and sad at the same time) that the education hospital and police look better than their CITY counterparts.
  4. I have CC and GG and this is the setup I'm toying with: GE ................. GG GE GE GE moc CC Now whether I can pull it off is a different story Looks like 10211 may very well cost north of $150USD...
  5. Nice hospital haha That's what it really looks like; as a nightclub I just don't see it. And bums can get a peep for free with those big windows...
  6. Is that because CC and GG are sold below 140 GBP? Remember US prices =/= UK prices =/= EU prices, US being the cheapest. CC and GG are 140 and 150 USD respectively. -Nice source of 1x2xX dark green pieces! Didn't know that it was almost a curtain wall window of those pieces. 'Nother reason to buy more than one -What the heck is up with that hallway after going up the escalator? 2 studs wide. -say it again, one escalator going up, then run back down on it, or vice versa - a bigger reason to buy at least 2 copies Very nice, so far. There are some flaws. Much more positives than negatives. But this LEGO, we can fix'em easy! Gotta admit GG still holds its own pretty darn well compared to this.
  7. It looks... awkward. Maybe the gaps by using 2 car bases made it so... or probably the fact that it's too symmetrical from front to rear... it's almost like Captain Slow's limo...
  8. Love the limo, dont care for the chopper.
  9. I would cover it up, completely. I have no use for a red plate sticking out of a town setting, much less a red duplo plate sticking out. I would first surround it with 16x16 and 32x16 baseplates. Then, cover the entire red plate with dark/light grey 2xX bricks, in a way that would also connect the red plate to the other LEGO plates. Then, build a skyscraper from it. Or at least, a very significant building, probably a centerpiece for downtown settings.
  10. I think only us North Americans get piece counts on the box The airport is actually nice. For a town set, it gives a very big feeling of the structure like you get in an actual airport, with that high roof and roomy, roomy interior. Also, big glass windows actually work well here, as opposed to big glass windows on Police and Fire windows. Very nice airport. The plane is Duplo.
  11. Duplo nose is always bad, but this is the best looking CITY plane we've had for a good while. I just wished the seats were off to one side with a little 2-wide isle instead of the seats in the middle. I'm not familiar with the pieces so I don't know if that can be modded easily. The other thing that can make his better is the "HEY!" pilot dude piloting this plane with that face
  12. I like the fact that it especially fits in rather well with the rest of the CITY trucks.
  13. EPic stuff all around! I wish I had that many pink pieces... I think I have about three... I'm also planning a LEGO store... can't wait to steal be inspired by ideas!
  14. Normally I'd say its too big, but the proportions seem right on this one, as well as the scale is better like that, because the Tucker is one big boat.
  15. Wal-Mart exclusive? ugh. I try to avoid those if at all possible, I hope they sell them on TRU or Target. Very curious though to see how the interior of the limo will shape up to be.
  16. I already have 4 copies. And reading this review.... still makes me want to buy more. I must resist and make way for the 10211...
  17. I don't know if any of you guys played Roller Coaster Tycoon games, but this one sure looks like something that would appear there. Very nice, I can imagine this put in a park or in a fair (with the PF carousel and wheel)
  18. The size seems actually quite true in minifig scale. But I ain't spending that much on CC's and I would rather drive across America and stop in LEGO stores to find CCs here and there. Or just buy multiple 10211s.... yea, that sounds better.
  19. I have 4 of these. 2 turned cop cars, 1 turned civilian, and 1 still in box. Has all the basic parts you need to make a simple CITY car. Hence, I buy lots, and will probably buy more.
  20. As a single set based on looks, Green Grocer still trumps all modular sets (including Market Street). It's flashy, loaded with details, tilework is superb, the green captivates the eye. However, GG fails if you buy 2 or more of it. Cafe Corner, Fire Brigade and especially Grand Emporium look just fantastic if you have 2 or 3 or 4 of them stacked with extra floor or two and next to each other, while the only thing you can do to multiple GGs qithout it being awkward is to get another 2nd floor in. At least, that's my take. And MS is the worst since it was only available for about a year and a few months and I didnt get mah copy
  21. If we use the vertical holder plate (whatever the official term is, idk) instead of the horizontal they use for "SHOP" we can possibly fit more than just 4 letters by having the brick built letters arranged vertically.
  22. Cafe Corner in 2007 had me thinking of collecting LEGO again after abandoning it due to crappy town sets Green Grocer in 2009 is when I executed and reignited the love for LEGO
  23. Two? I'm thinking three! (Of course, not at the same time, a $450 USD bill for plastic is heart-attack inducing, although that's still ~6500 pieces of fun and enjoyment!) And (a single set) is going to be big... probably the biggest-looking of them all because it looks like a solid 25x25 building with a flat top. As for the post-office/prediction thing, I'll leave that till fall/winter this year. Right now, it's all Grand Emporium time for me
  24. That's almost exactly how I imagined the coupe version of 8402.
  25. I thought the way they constructed "SHOP" is brilliant, but I feel its too generic, so I might do away with it. The same reason my Cafe Corner is displayed without the vertical "HOTEL" sign (but that's also because of the fact that it's mirrored when read from the other side.... picky me) Maybe slap a custom Saks Fifth decal on plates for me instead? I feel the near-identical 2nd and 3rd floors is a plus, it contrasts to CC and GG.
