  1. Hi all. i've made another little step for this MOC and i was on to add some pic, but reading at some other post in this forum i decided not to do that. in this MOC i've used techniques from many of other builders and i'm looking to "copy" other parts so, i don't think i could give the right credits to everyone (because i don't know every post...) and i won't to worry anyone. to admins: please close this thread. to all: i'll be glad to continue comment post on this forum and make suggestions when asked :)
  2. oh my God she's beautiful, if you want to make a simple tutorial i'll be glad to use it!!

imho, the first gunport (next to the bow) would be higher than the second.. but in this ship it seems placed lower. by the way this is coming a great MOC, and i'm very surprised by all the progress in such a short time! wich kind of technique are you planning to use to access the interior?
  4. these are the things i love on this MOC: 1) everything end of the list :) between achilles and vesta, the french army on this forum keeps the most detailed ships!!
  5. my votes are: Vesta --> 4 points Sang Royale --> 3 points
  6. you're probably right, i'll see what i can do, but i wanted to use some #3700 brick to hold #3742 parts as a finish. unfortunatly #3700 (1x2 technic brick with hole) in dark red is too rare...
  7. i just wanted to share a quick shot. here you can see the folded sides (i don't know if i shared a pic like this before). discussing abaut the color of the line on the upper side: in this picture i've made a part of it in a mix of colors. actually i don't like the standard red finish. the tan gunline reminds me of a ship who has been on the seas for a long while, so do the dark red gunports; but i don't think the same abaut a bright red line. i don't have any blue brick so i used a flag, i think blue probably looks better. thanks to all of you for compliments and to admiral croissant, who i'm considering an important help in this project :)

nice job, the tiling of the gudeck means you're making internals? wich way of opening are you planning to use? a tip: if you consider to open sides like in my frigate make a project of the bases for rigging, otherwise you risk to make a modular ship..tied by the rigging. 'till now great job, keep building!
  9. simply great
  10. uhm..what about a blue line? or dark red.. i would like to add a bit of color... but i think i've got a lot ob black bricks so i could try with them. the figurehead sustain is 13 stud long, maybe 10 studs looks better...
  11. some other minor progress... the bridge on tiling... side... i really like how it looks!
  12. simply great. you've done what i dreamed about :) hope you'll post soon some "stories" from gameplays!!
  13. wow may i have the rules of that game??
  14. i see.. the problem enlarging the hole is due to the brick archs on the lower deck, enlarging even 1 stud will expose the archs lenghtwise there's the half stud step so this operation can' be done... i've made a skylight to open some more the bridge, and hope to make a realistic illusion by placing sidewalls loosing 1 stud by side (so the hole even with the same dimension could appear larger). i'll see qhat i can do with the next load of bricks
  15. the brown slopes are the base for a dark green line with yellow finishes... i'm still waiting the bricks.. and that line will be vertical as with normal bricks :) talking about the hole... i think i cant' undestand, may you explain?
  16. uhm..maybe the line could look better this way
  17. here i am again. these are a pair of pics about my latest progress, some other bricks are on their way to my home, but there's still a lot of work to do (that's a relief, i really love to work on this ship and i don't have any hurry about finishing her soon...) of corse the entire bridge will be tiled so the coloured plates will be covered. the building of the bow has been suspended because of the construction of the cat's tails (i'm still working on them). i just don't have idea about the technique to use about the masts, i've seen great works using round bricks...but there's still a lot of time before that i've tried to make the profile more drammatically curved next to the bow to look like a dutch ship (thanks admiral croissant for the tips, hope to use them rightly!)
  18. great! i'll surely try to figure something!
  19. those seems to be late 1600 galleons (looking at the rigging) but they've right the same details i thought: a strongly detailed stern, a platform at the end of the front mast and an heavily curved hull. do dutch ships share the same looking in late 1700-early 1800? 've seen the artwork about the english and dutch attack on algeri in 1816 but i can't get much details from it :( thanks for the pics they're very useful!
  20. ok.. i've made some other progress (more pics soon) and covered most of the upper bridge, now i've to build bow and stern and there're the biggest problems... in this forum i've always seen french and english ships (and some american model..) and i really like them, as i wanted to build a french frigate... but i'm becoming curious about the dutch fleet... just to build something different. to use their style have i to make a platform on the front mast? and a more detailed stern? i can't find any pic of a dutch frigate after 1670 on the web any tip? maybe i'll build a french or an english ship the same, but i would like to try to figure something different first...
  21. HUGE!! i really like the colour scheme, really bluecoats LEGO dedicated!! and i like the color of the wall on the back too :)
  22. uhm...wich is the most important for each of us? i was born in the 80's so... bluecoats has bee in my toybox for a long while... bluecoats to me
  23. try using imageshack.com, flickr orbrickshelf and paste the link. :)
  24. nice! but i can't understand the meaning of the free stud in the lower slopes... how many mid sections does she takes? :)
  25. i'm really enchanted by the way you made those windows on the stern. i'm trying to figure something with the 1x1x1 brick modified "headlight" but i don't like very much the way it comes. may i ask how you did that? or is that a window frame with a particular glass? once again..Great moc!
