  1. i'm glad to share a technique to enlarge the small boat parts. i'm using it to make an english brig... on this base it's simple to place the roof with plates and hinges... hope it comes useful for someone :)
  2. take a look to this topic... http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=45700
  3. actually i'm building a ship with 7 large mid sections, 22 studs wide. considerating 3 studs as 1 meter with this mesuraments you can build a 6th class frigate with an acceptable "minifig illusion scale" or a brig in perfect minifig scale. in my ship i decided for the minifig illusion scale 'cause for the perfect scale is always better a brickbuilt hull. i'm trying to make a 3D napoleonic wargame so this scale is better to me because of the minor space required to play :)
  4. that's REALLY nice!! ...and completely playable! great MOC :)
  5. ok, your post comes incredibly important to me :) the ship i'm building is 7 mid sections long with old bow/stern and 22 studs wide. in my plans the decks are 5/6 bricks tall so the original 2 gundecks idea passed for a single gundeck idea... the ship should have gone too tall. for some reason the shipping of the bricks comes very slow in italy and the building will be long (can't wait to finish that). just a question: have the stove for cooking to be placed in the gundeck in the front part? "charlie noble" should run beside the foremast? or is it placed out the gundeck next the bow? if you have some other details to add i'll be glad to place them in my ship (i'm even placing the "small shape cannon design" to have the more space available)!!
  6. useful in the northern cold seas :) (sorry for the light bluish gray bricks...) i'm planning to put something similar in my ship after placed tiles on the floor. once placed, the black round bricks would continue 'til roof and a few on the upper deck, finishing with a dish and a cone... hope this is helpful for someone :)
  7. oook this is how i've built the main floor.. i've got all the tiles to cover it in reddish brown but i'm waiting the bricks for columns (i still don't know where to put them. (war against the redcoats!!)
  8. thank for the tips, i was trying to build a "one piece" (non modular) hull with some way to access the main gundeck and the upper deck. this time i'm forced myself not to build a 2 decks frigate :( i've started to put down the floor with plates, building a "dummy" access downstairs, closed with black bricks in the front part of the gundeck and i'm planning to build an access upstairs in the back part between the main mast and the acces tho the captain room. my idea is to place columns on the gundeck to rise the upper deck and make the sides with plates covered by tiles, opening them "wing style". i'll try to add some pics today... just some question: the restrooms were really "rooms" or the sailors slept on the main gundeck? and the kitchen was in the lower deck? (in this case i haven't to build it...) many thanks!!!
  9. i've got even a 5 small mid section project :) i would like to try a different technique than the tutorial, for making a completely playable ship. all that i need is a draw of internals..
  10. Thanks all for reading... i'm trying to build a ship, napoleonic era, minifig illusion scale. 'til now 've made this version of the hull: it's 7 mid sections long and 22 studs wide in the largest section. it looks fine to me and i'm planning to start building decks...but i don't know how!!! is there any plan of the internals for a 2 gundecks french ship (around 44-46 guns on the main decks)? something like where to put the stairs, rooms etc.. thanks a lot! Matteo
  11. obvously you can use it (no need to ask!!) can't wait to post some pics of the frigate i'm building to get some tips :)
  12. wow what a feedback for a design so simple... i'm very glad someone found it a good idea (or a good base)and uses it!
  13. This is a simple design for cannons, it's cheap and it takes 2 studs instead the classic 4 (maybe it could look better with four 1x1 round black plates as wheels). I think it could be fine even in the small mid sections.
  14. hi,i'm Matteo from Italy. i'm part of a group of roleplaying friends and we're trying to make a game napoleonic era based on ships. may i ask you the width of the sang royale? i've built a hull 7 mid sections long and 22 studs width, but i'm afraid it's not enough for 2 bridges..

thanks for attention and sorry for my poor english!

  15. IMHO the best ship in this forum. I'm trying to make a ship too. But nothing like that!!
  16. this is the ship inspired me to make some non-starwars models!! i've started a project on a 6th range frigate but i've some trouble with the masts.. which were the pieces you used on your masts? thanks!!
  17. so i'm trying to make my first pirates MOC.. for this creature i'm using this structure: 1 old small stern, 1 old small bow, 5 small mid sections. the only problem i've encountred is the leght of the guns (strongly higher of an half mid section) so i've self designed some brickmade guns (soon i'll post some pics). first pics:
