I use 1900 x 1200 and Google Chrome. Unfortunately none of these was specified exactly in the poll, so i voted 1900 x 1080 and Safari & Chrome -
Hey Jebediahs, I saw the wonderful drawing of Admiral Croissant's Sigfig you made and I'm just wondering... could you make one of my new Sigfig as well? That would be just incredibly awesome! I hope the avatar pic is good enough, my current camera doesn't allow for a better one. Of corse I can perfectly understand if you don't have the time... Keep it up!

Sweet! Please, just make sure, you finish before May 31 and you can still improve a bit on lanscaping although it looks much better than before already. I like your MOC trees, however they are a little small... Anyways, I wish you much sucess completing this lovely battle scene and also some luck in the competition. -Perfectionist

Not sure why I haven't seen this before, but that's one of the most beautiful trucks I've ever seen in Lego! And it's zero-stud! Indeed!

Wow, that's quite a beauty! I like the sleek look and the fact that it has a tiled deck I love tiles I quite like the bow, interesting technique you used there... got some more pics? There are only 3 on Flickr... -Perfectionist

Hey Captain K., this looks quite good. I esspecially like the stern and its shape. The overall appeareance is very impressive, no doubt there The Royal sail on the foremast is missing, but that's not such a big issue. I do like the RN colorscheme although i feel like an ornamental line at the top deck would have been nice to break up all that black! Also i think the hull should be more brown, atm it looks a bit strange with brown prefabs and black bricks on top. The figurehead is beautiful, i think your headrails are a bit incomplete though. The size you're building at is pretty critical (9 midsections). Most people here on the forums think that 7 midsections is the maximum, personally I think 8 is possible although hard to manage. In this case I feel the size, esspecially at the stern, to be somewhat too large for prefabs. The length/width ratio is pretty good, but to achieve this you had to expand by 4 studs with slopes on each side which i think looks a bit weird. If you're rebuilding it at some point, you should add a tumblehome IMO. Still a fine vessel! One of the best RN ships so far on this forum. -Perfectionist

Wow, what a lovely creation! I agree with Erdbeereis on the roof: it has a very nice and realistic shape. The interior is awesome, i esspecially like the fact that you tiled the floor The jumperplates above the windows look good as well nice touch! And there a lot of action going on... great fire! Well, to sum it all up i cannot think of any true improvements when looking at this MOC. The background story is quite interesting as well, although that doesn't affect the MOc istself, it make it seem even more interesting. I think you have created the best entry so far... if voting would take place, you'd have my vote. I'm still curious to see more entries coming up. I really wish you good luck in the contest though! -Perfectionist

I agree with Captain Zuloo: It would be great to see what you base your countless measurements on. I know the HMS Beagle was a fairly small ship measurnig less than 30 metres, however i still get the impression that you are building too small for actuall minifig scale. If you use the most common scale 1stud=1 foot making your minifgs about 170cms high (decently realistic for that time) your deck should be 90 studs long which i think it isn't. It's quite nice what you built so far. I just think it's too small... I know there have been many posts regarding scale. I just can't belive all those people have been wrong and even if they were, sharing your measurements would help a lot -Perfectionist

Very nice trees! The idea of an ambush is also great, it's always nice to see something different. Maybe you might want to change the blood of those soldiers dying in the front. The cherrys can IMO be confused too easily. Sill a great entry; as others have stated already, you have a fair chance to win. -Perfectionist

I LOVE your minifigs . The lanscaping could use some more attention though. It's quite significant how much less detailed it looks compared to those great soldiers. Can anybody explain, why michealozzi has no "customizer" tag? IMO he's the best customizer out there.... -Perfectionist

Hehe, well I doubt that sailing warships were still popular in the 1870s Your mainmast is very, very close to the foremast, really it should be much further apart from it. I also found the gun placement a bit weird, the guns should be 4-6 studs apart though 4 studs IMO works best. It should be quite possible to fit 8 instead of just 6 guns into that hull... Also there is no figurehead which i think you really need to change. If you have time, custom sails and rigging could improve your ship a lot. It really takes an insane amount of time though... The colourscheme looks a bit weird with the SES hull pieces since the red line is not continued. Other than that I'm glad there's one more bluecoat ship on these forums I've seen the Admirality on 1000steine.de Why not post it on EB? It's lovely! -Perfectionist

Hmm just 11 replies... The mini sub is really good though, probably best i have seen so far. I quite like that there is an interior It's always nice to see some MOCs that are different from what we are used to see here on the forums. -Perfectionist

Hey DutchTreat, to me it looks like you are sticking very much to the Imperial Flagship in your design. However you should notice that the IFS isn't realistic at all; IMO it looks like a house with sails since its so bulky. Just in case you are willing to build more realistically: -move the mizzen mast (the third one) about 4 studs and the main mast 6 studs towards the stern -place both hatches betwenn the main mast and the foremast -i would also try to lower both the stern and bow if you can, you could take advantage of the new hull pieces by removing the upper part: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/wesvdell...rian/lstern.jpg Now doesn't that look sleek? -maybe increase the gun count to 6 per side by placing them just 4 studs apart? -MOC cannons on the upper deck also are nice touch: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/RickB/Bu...ate/step9-h.jpg Just my 2 cents, what you have build so far doesn't look bad at all. But you can always improve -Perfectionist

Come on, I'm really curious to know where you got the torso print! They can't be in the standard LDD simply cause they are not in production anymore. So who made that lovely MOD for the Universe MOD? Perfectionist

Ultimate Collectors Scale All Terrain Armoured Transport
BrickPerfection replied to cavegod's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Nice! I really liked that vehicle most when I first saw Episode V as a kid. I also like some of the changes you made in comparison to Rocko's AT-AT, esspecially the main gun design is a huge improvement. I like the UCS sign and the head, however some closeups would be nice. Might be in the folder though (which unfortunately isn't yet public). I'll come back when it is. Great job! Perfectionist -
WIP: Achille and Guerrière, French Frigates of 28 guns
BrickPerfection replied to BrickPerfection's topic in Pirate MOCs
I hope I can somehow avoid making so many knots in the ratlines; might use glue. Sorry, but I'm just inexperienced and impatient with string Well a good thing is that the rigging is super tight, so that it really stabilises the masts; I can hold the deck at 90 degrees and they won't fall off! And yes, you're right: black string looks so much nicer Esspecially your 50 gun American frigate really benefits from it! I don't share that opinion. My digicam is pretty rubbish, I can't get a good close-up, essentially it's using these bricks with 4 transparent cheese slopes and a 2x2 dish on top. I've taken the design from the lanterns I made for the Superbe a while ago, but these here are smaller. As soon as I can afford it, I'll get myself a better camera and also use white cardboard for the background; really it can't be that mediocre MOCs get more attention just because they're better photographed. -Perfectionist -
How about a ship building contest? I think it would be time after 2 landbased events (PTVII + community build). Something not too large like the "Pimp my IMTP ship" one, but in a different context. Maybe "build a galleon" on the small prefabs? There aren't too many of these ships in the index. Or "build a sloop" on small prefabs. Possibly a privateer or pirate vessel. Or "build a galley" like those used in the mediterranean sea Or "build a junk"; after all China had trouble with pirates too! Or "build a medieval pirate ship" like the one of Klaus Störtebeker could have looked Or - hey that's my favourite - a "stern construction contest", where only the stern is made; in a way comparable to the "figurehead contest" Sorry again I missed the community build, I had some exams in March Regards Perfectionist

Dutch VOC ship the Prins Willim, minifig scale!
BrickPerfection replied to Captain Green Hair's topic in Pirate MOCs
Because it's just great when you can pull them off to show your interior. I think it would be a nice effect. Also you would have the possibility to have the more realistic view on the ship with the hatches closed without having to turn it to the other side. And considering how many bricks such a project costs, I doubt it will save you much not to build hatches. Might be a matter of taste, but I really don't see any good reason not to make hatches Well your ship is going to be great anyway, but to me it would be better with hatches. Perfectionist -
You've managed to squeeze 28 guns on just 7 midsections, which is incredible! However the "real" 6 American heavy Frigates had 30 guns and 32 gunports on the gundeck. So I can't imagine you'll manage to fit 54 guns, which would be realistic. 50 seems more doable; and it's still enormous for a frigate! Perfectionist

Dutch VOC ship the Prins Willim, minifig scale!
BrickPerfection replied to Captain Green Hair's topic in Pirate MOCs
They look to scale for me: look here. Actually I think they're rather too thick than too thin. Regards Perfectionist
