This is a very unusual and creative steampunk MOC and I very much like the story behind it! I would have never thought the use of that zeppelin box being possible in a proper MOC, but apparantly it is! That Hindenburg MOC looks great too; I might take a closer look at it!

Almost all of the classic Pirates sets in the US had non-shooting cannons; the first ones where like the normal ones with a black handle; later they used a different mould with the imperial ensign on top of the barrel!

WIP - Metamorphosis Sculptures
BrickPerfection replied to fallentomato's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The sculptures for themselves are quite nice, but that video is just... WOW, I mean it's great! You really achieved a very smooth transition and the lightning is very good! -
Sweet review on a tiny yet classic set! Well done! I believe noone has ever reviewed it before, so it's good you did. Thanks! I would give it a 4. Come on, Mods, we need a poll here! Sure, the cannon in that rowboat is ridiculous nonsense, but it improves the value for money! I also like the non printed bicorne, I think this set was the only one to have it of all the classic sets. It's also nice to have a brown cannon base in this one; I use reds in all my ships but that's mostly because they're easier to aquire Old brown looks quite good there, maybe better than red! (Psst this is my 60th post today)

Ahh now that's finally where you have included that fine vessel, you showed in the Pirate MOC forum! It looks quite feminine and so is your comic! I didn't yet found the time to read all episodes and character introduction, but I might do this at some point. What I saw here so far is actually a very well made comic with great pics and editing! The story seems good as well, even though I don't know all that happened before...

Sorry, I might have not made clear enough what I wanted to say: I feel that these differences are too small! Why do these figures always have to look so human-like when there are plenty of different designs available like Spiders, krakens, 4 leg animals of any kind, dinosaurs and all other kins of mosters Well I know these are supposed to be heros, but still don't always need to be human-like! And why does it allways have to be 6 of them that are technically much the same, just with some very slight differences? Marketing I guess. Well TLC is quite good at that. Well I guess this isn't the right place to discuss further wishes for the serie, but that's just what I think!

Thanks, I'm glad you like the Achille. However I have rebuild it so it will look much different (6 midsections now) and also used a new mast design. I'll post some pics when I have a proper camera, which hopefully will be around mid June. To your stern: The hose adds something indeed, I esspecially like how the two gunports are directly under it which is very realistic! I'm amazed by how low your topdeck is! Making the stern narrower by 2 studs compared to the MLCAD version also was a good choice! It integrates much better into the hull now! Actually your stern has always looked good, but it's even better now! To the masts: I feel that their 2nd and 3rd section is too thick because of the use of prefabs. Also they may be a little too low; just look at USS Constitution and how high her masts are! Since your into rigging now it's too late to change that but this is what I think masts should look like: It's the "Vesta" by our frontpage blogger Admiral Croissant! It feautures an amazingly detailed rigging too! I've also based my new mast design on the Achille on it, but using some different techniques!

LEGO 8684 Minifigures Series 2 (Official Pictures)
BrickPerfection replied to GRogall's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Well but you have to see that the quality is very similar to those found in magnets, keychains and extra sets as Tic Tac Toe, blister battle packs and so on... Although one improvement has been made: the plastic is a bit less shine-through now. So why should Lego produce something that differs so much from what their usual figures look like and is almost similar to what has most likely been produced by external companys? -numbers on arms and hands -slightly different yellow colour for hands -no printing on the torso where the head is attached -the plastic feels a little softer than that of regular minifigs that come in sets Again, this is just speculation, but I can't believe TLC has produced these but not the 5 digit extra sets... Just a sidenote; I have recently discovered these different quality torsos in the build a minifig in my local lego store. The problem is that normal minifig heads don't always sit tight on them! -
Thanks for sharing this review! Great pics! I quite like the two sided face. It's a great impulse for sure, however, I would have preferred something for army building like the Pirate impulses The chance to get an army of jesters isn't that high, so I doubt that people will buy more than a few two of these...

REVIEW: 7948 Outpost Attack
BrickPerfection replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Thanks for this review! I voted 3 since I don't feel anything except the minifigs being that good... I esspecially don't like the random cheese slopes on the catapults wheels, but aprt from that you're righ: it's well build for a set. Will the stickers still fall apart over time? The pearl dark grey weapons/armor of the bad guys are pretty much the best I have ever seen. So in case I might ever get into castle, I'll just get the minifigs/accesoires from BL once they're cheaper! I did the same with Pirates and I'm pretty glad with how it works. -
MOC: Hummer H1
BrickPerfection replied to Sariel's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Sorry I haven't figured out that there's a slide bar under the pics. But thanks for pointing it out again! A shame you had to withdraw from the race, the H1 did really well and seemes much faster than all the other vehicles... Seeing it in that video made me feel even more impressed! -
Haha, nice interpretation! I really didn't figure it out before! Was it meant to look like our flag? After all you named on of your ships German... Now that also explains why I like the colourscheme...

LEGO 8684 Minifigures Series 2 (Official Pictures)
BrickPerfection replied to GRogall's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Probably, i mean it's an external company which can much more flexibly produce such series. I found the quality ok for the most part; already batter than in those battle packs! -
MOC: Hummer H1
BrickPerfection replied to Sariel's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
No worries, it's a piece of art! Very close to the original and ... it even drives! Could you describe how you achieved a suspension AND motorisation? Couldn't quite understand it from the pics... It's a great mechanism for sure! The slits between the two doors are a bit nasty though, hope you can close them! A few more tiles wouldn't be bad either, but that's a matter of taste... some like studs, I don't! Keep it up! -
A "small" Mod... It's a strange idea but pretty creative and yes, it would look good in a zombie scene... Are you planning on something like that? I'd love to see it! You might want to shorten the tracks a littly though... Keep it up!
-
Strange I missed this one so far, but: it's lovely! I love the use of all those tiles and you did a good job in capturing the overall feel of that scene! However the Bongo itslef is just from a set though.. and studs are showning up...
-
I quite appreciate seeing so many MOCs from you on the forums... Seems like you've build all of them a while ago? I like the colourscheme and overall appearance in this one, however I'm not so convinced by the squary technique you used... Might be a question of taste though: It has something fairly nostalgic. A LED, possibly from trains would be a nice touch too!
-
Those look great and I'm glad somebody took advantage of that outstandig universe mod for LDD! Very interesting concept... are you planning on making a few in real brciks if you can get them from BL?
-
Thanks for these pics, Rick! Actually I haven't imagined another house set appearing... It doesn't look that big, but 33€ seems pretty fair to me. Quite good in comparison to the overpriced lincensed themes!
-
When I first saw the pic, I though: No this can't be Lego, but - amazingly - it is! Of course the setting also adds to that impression, but I have to say: You did an outstanding job on it! It's so smooth... I esspecially like the full and very detailed interior in a just 7 wide train! Internal compartments are a great touch! + Interesting information, thanbk you!

So that's what should replace Bionicles??? Not sure but somehow I don't like that idea. Again they're nothing really new, just like the former Bionicles in a different design and with a new name...
-
Yes, it takes quite a lot of space for railtracks and your room is a perfecti example for that! I think the bridge is quite interesting... is it stable enough? Not all your tracks are connected yet and I'd like to see trains on them in action.

Welcome to Eurobricks!

You've done a great job in capturing the feel of that very movie scene! The statues are very good; I esspecially like the use of those halberds with enlenghtened handles! And... you tiled it all!
