That'd make sense too.

Oops. Thanks. Too many elementals in my deck.

Heroica RPG - Quest#119: The Blackgull Inquisition
CMP replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
"You really believe that, kid?" Miderun crossed her arms. "I've been in this city for only a few months, but I've learned a lot about Eubric. The most recent lesson? Loyalty means nothing to you people. There's no sense of duty, there's no bond among the groups you all claim to serve. You stab eachother in the back without an ounce of honor, and no cause is enough to justify it. Do you really think this Ulric is going to care if a few street rats he's brainwashed go missing in the night? Or has he convinced you that throwing your life away for his thankless, two-faced cause is the only way to prove your loyalty?" The barbarian shoved Grant in the chest, glaring. "You tell me. Who's standing here begging us to save your life - Ulric, or your father?" -
"Sounds fine to me. Hell, I'm Chaotic, I'll be doin' at least double damage." Atramor swings at Jun-Chi with the Staff of the Cultist Battlemage from the back row.

"Yeah, great work, kids. Sending weapons to the Wolfperson who wants 'peace'," snapped Miderun. "You're all being used and none of you cannot even see it. " "Taroksh dyr, are you kidding me? They have rebel children running loose in the city and their best answer is to hang them? This city is basul..." The barbarian shook her head, glancing over the children with obvious annoyance and some pity before jerking her head towards Annienal and Warlen. "I think we're done here." -
That seems pretty useless. Even if you had five Level 8 cards, that's a combined total of only 80 damage (not counting defense) for only one round, and on top of that you lose all your summons. I mean, look at the kind of battles I'm getting into at Level ~30. If I'm lucky and he doesn't absorb any of the elements of my cards, I could deal a whopping 16 damage to Jun-Chi. Everyone else has defense or takes halved damage.
-
Atramor plays his last card, Sun Elemental (Fiery 8), which he must hand over to Bobby with a nod. "Good game, mate. Ya' did well with such a disadvantage."
-
Atramor repeats his attack. "They're puttin' up a hell of a fight, that's for sure."
-
I don't think you're allowed to loot dead PCs. I'm sad to see Erdy to go, I hope you're able to return sometime.

Finish writing this damn Marauder quest. I failed to get it out before the New Year but oh well, there's people interested in it that aren't particularly close to finishing their quests right now. In the quest bin is the 'continuation' of sorts to Quest 51 and 82, maybe something later involving Baltarok, and in the absence of (but very likely to happen) additional short quests I throw in there, a big quest(s) tying together Baltarok, the Cold Circle, and the Crimson Crown.

What's funny is that having Tesni in the party is going to be way worse than having a Level 1.

"Based on what I've seen, you're getting pulled into something you don't know the extent of, raikuun. We were attacked not five hours ago by the Wolfgang who were openly manipulating someone in a position of power to further their own gains. If they're trying to do anything good, they're going about it the wrong way by recruiting traitors, witches, and children to their cause. Like it or not, this city needs people like the Bonapartes. This island would've been razed to the ground by my people long ago if they weren't around to keep order. This Ulric Tirnetzomlo might speak sympathetic words, but that doesn't make his cause any more valid, or even better for Eubric in the long run. If you want to do some good for this backwards city, go and volunteer for some useful work instead of yelling about the Wolfgang out here on the street. Help an alchemist, help build houses, I don't know, just don't waste your time standing out here and trying to tell me that turning Eubric into a KINGDOM is going to make things more fair. Believe me, that is NOT what kings do." Miderun shook her head, turning to Bullsworth as something occurred to her. "Well, we helped find your children...I've got only one question for you. Does an elf named Fogfarer manage your ships' cargo here in the city?" -
Atramor plays his Dryad (Plant 6), and then his Star Elemental (Ethereal 8).

Atramor tripped on his way in, does that count?

"Lucky for you I'm very good at it." Miderun pushed her way into the crowd and forced the quarreling family apart while yelling at them loudly in orcish. "ALRIGHT, EVERYONE BACK UP, ANAR ANH ZOL OLM DAZ MARKRAHN!!" She paused, looking from Bullsworth to his children as her voice rung in the air. "....Now, why are you all ranting about the Wolfgang?" -
Right, which is a reasonable compromise. If we kind of ignore the insane volume of time we spend in the Hall and just stick to when a quest canonically takes place (a day in 48 and 53's cases) I think it would all come together reasonably well.

I'm writing Atramor's bio on the wiki now, and something's occurred to me. We've been going for three years now and somehow we have absolutely no timeline to go off in reference to, well, anything. I know this is because of the weird timeframe Quests can go into...but I think now that we have a wiki to record this stuff at then maybe we could take a crack at establishing some kind of reference point. I'm thinking we could use either the Orcish Invasion or CAT to serve as reference (in the way we use BC and AD). The former seems like it would make more sense just because it's more well-known in the world.
-
Atramor, defining 'overkill' as he plays his Storm Gigas (Electric 9), shakes Bobby's hand. "Atramor Gibbin. Regulator." He then throws down his Mandragora (Plant 2).
-
Assuming I win this last match, yes, I'd be interested in any spare cards anyone has.
-
She'll turn into a Zoot's Plaything too for easy transport. In all seriousness though, Dragoon's dragon attacks need a damage boost, Dragon Aid and the first two Shield rolls are completely impotent against the kind of enemies heroes face at Levels 30-40. I specify damage boost only because I still like the idea of the evolving Shield roll.
-
Atramor repeats his vicious slash. McCafferey watched the battle idly from the floor nearby. "Skrall, take down Do quick, they're about to come to."

"Huh. Reminds of that book you gave me, Annienal." "Well, we can't let these children spew their nonsense. This 'Wolfgang' is obviously an enemy of Heroica, they did just try and kill us earlier. Let's go intimidate them." Miderun cracked her knuckles, then paused and sized up her elven partymates. "...or...I'll go intimidate them, you guys stand there threateningly." -
I think they're similar enough to where that wouldn't be particularly worth it. Older maps, a handful of now-obsolete characters, and I guess different physics would be all that changes, right? That said, I would LOVE to see them re-release some old maps as DLC or something. I miss Big Blue.
-
My hand is in. Atramor stared across the table at Bobby with his goofy mohawk and sunglasses. "...right. Well, your move, mate."

Atramor repeats his attack.
