  1. Quick question about the factions: Atramor is on a quest that rewards Bonaparte reputation right now. If he joins the Crescent Union before it ends, he won't receive that reputation when the quest is completed, right?
  2. Coming to select theaters in IMAX and IMAX 3D. Fantastic work on this year's Henry's, those video recaps are really awesome.
  3. Same Order Miderun pulls her club back, pleased at her hit, but quickly notices something is amiss with Bobby. She hurries to the back row to feed him a Remedy, so that he can repeat. Elnath and Bain repeat. "Be wary of these things," she warns, even as Mhinak is struck down.
  4. Atramor tilts his hat to Ellaria in thanks and attempts to summon his Pegasus (Luminous 8) from the back row.
  5. "We killed those things for a reason. It looks like we may have the chance to do it again." "Those are all the parts you need to know. U'Reeka was messing about trying to fuse his technology with Moon Elf magic. The result was a race of abominations. We wiped them out...or so I thought. We made sure of it." Avina's typical zeal was mingled with worry for once. "The machine, U'Reeka, those monsters - we destroyed everything that was down there. What could he have possibly....damn all of it..." The alchemist rubbed her temple through her mask, and finally managed to dig U'Reeka's file out of her cloak. "The part of Nu Mercution where this all took place was inside a tower...the Iron Spire. When the heroes went inside, the shades sabotaged the tower, and it broke off its foundations, sinking deep underground...very deep. The entrance they originally used doesn't even exist anymore, our agents had to blow open a new entrance that we sealed as soon as we got out." "Maybe....Nu Mercution is an extensive network of ruins, spreading all underneath Uland....the Iron Spire is broken, but...perhaps that's how they've getting around." "If they're in the Spire, we're walking right into them. But there aren't any other entrances." "Yes, I typically prefer to have the tactical advantage in these sorts of situations....I suppose a group of heroes is a reasonable substitute for that." The heroes followed Avina (and Mortimer, for the path was reasonably familiar to him as well) out of the city and up the northmost road. After a short distance, they went off the path and into a small thicket of trees. The Crimson Crown agent pulled back a peculiar pile of underbrush against a large hill, revealing.... A sealed metal doorway, with a flickering, observant light filtering in through some sort of lens embedded at head-level. "This....isn't....this isn't what it looked like at all last time. What the hell is this thing?"
  6. "...Very well." She shoots a sideways look at Chalvo. "Be glad the heroes are in charge. Get out of our sight, and don't return." "Of course. Thank you heroes, a thousand times - I will never forget what you've done for me." He slowly lowered himself off the edge of the building, dropping down onto the next rooftop. By the time the heroes followed, Chalvo was gone. They continued down the row of run-down buildings, moving along the rooftops like a band of assassins as the moon began to rise over Eubric. Eventually, they dropped back onto the streets, with the automatons nowhere in sight. "Well....I suppose that's that, then. The exit we used to get out of the forge in Nu Mercution is outside the city, but it's not far off. Shall we go now? I'm sure I have U'Reeka's file somewhere...though I didn't think we'd need it again...."
  7. Atramor repeats his attack, from the back row, now attempting to hold the front on his own.
  8. I'd like each person to bold their final answer, and I'm kind of delaying the next update until Emjajoas can get his say in.
  9. I'm waiting as well.
  10. Atramor nods at Nur, stowing his failing deck of cards and instead slashing at Load Worker B from the front row with his glimmering Mythril Claws (twice).
  11. "That...is a worrying possibility." "It's possible. If the machines are out to kill heroes, maybe it was all to draw you out." "U'Reeka was killed in an ancient forge in the city of Nu Mercution, deep beneath Eubric. I still know of the exit we used to escape it...perhaps we could go down there. Assuming it's him. And assuming he's there...I don't like this guesswork, but I can't think of any other leads." "Please, just...I can flee Eubric. It's clearly far more dangerous than I anticipated. Just...just let me go." "This way, I think..." The party returned to the staircase and continued up its multiple flights until reaching the top of the building, where they went up a ladder and onto the chilly rooftop. Chalvo lagged behind the group, almost resigned to his fate. Avina turned and locked the exit behind them. "We can continue along this row of rooftops, but that still leaves the question of the old man. We have plenty of time to decide what happens to him, I doubt the machines can even go up ladders. I'm still not convinced he even deserves his freedom, but I suppose it's your decision, heroes."

    Star Wars

  13. Are we not supposed to be fighting these guys? Our attacks will barely even scratch these enemies and we can't do anything to them. Miderun glances at Bobby, a bit pained in her decision, but even she can see that this battle is almost lost before it begins. "...Be quick. Tarok ezka dir okal, ceznd." She turns her attention to the enemies. "Kiray, use your Rito blade, these things will not be hit by magic." Battle Order Kiray vs. Morticia >Elnath vs. Pugsley >Mhinak vs. Fester >Miderun vs. Wednesday >Bain vs. Eudora Inki vs. Lurch >Na'im heals Kiray >Germ flees >Bobby flees
  14. Nope.
  15. We rolecopped him on Night Three, we knew who it was at that point. Which role did Lind inherit? We were always a little nervous about that, it was the reason we didn't kill Tariq on Night One.
  16. "Oh, I doubt they would kill him."
  17. "Getting away won't be a problem, I'm sure we can escape to the roof or something. They have to clunk their way up a flight of stairs or two...but leaving him to them is an option. I for one would advocate killing him..."
  18. I didn't think for a second that claim was going to last longer than a day, but somehow he didn't get investigated.
  19. Thanks for the game DLL and JJP, I had a great time. So...yeah. I was the rolecop and we managed to peg the blocker on Day One, and then the tracker claimed to one of us. We intended to have Lind inherit the blocker, but the tracker ended up dead the same day anyway, so that left us with a bit of doubt...but it did leave the town down two PRs. From there it was just dodging suspicion and hunting down as many PRs as we could, I think. We didn't do a great job of the first but somehow we managed to keep from getting lynched the whole time. Claiming watcher definitely saved Dave. We could've coordinated better, I forget what our response was to Sir Stig's code thing or if he even mentioned it, but I wasn't kidding when I said I paid pretty much no attention to it, I was entirely lost shortly after people started talking about it. But we did coordinate our actions well and quickly narrowed down the biggest risks to us. Thanks again for an awesome game guys, and thanks a ton to my team, you guys were great. I can't claim to have a lot of insight as to how balance works but we didn't have a conversion, so maybe that was why we started with more people?
  20. It's fine. "No, I-I've never met him, personally..." "...and that would be why." Mortimer and I killed him some time ago. He had been performing unnatural experiments and rituals underground in Eubric, threatened an entire city. We destroyed him and his unnatural creations...unless..." She paced back and forth, clearly a bit agitated. "...he had very advanced technology and access to Moon Elf magic...and the man was a mad genius...it's possible...maybe he lived?..." "Th-There was an incident. I hired Heroica to help me re-aquire the automaton, it had been...lost in transit. I sent it to its client, one Avina Truenal...." "Mail fraud. Long story." "....but later it turned up to be involved in some sort of staged crime. Its perpetrator was killed, and the crime quashed, again thanks to Heroica, and your people entrusted the parts to U'Reeka. He sent them back to the Ji Pei on the request of the heroes." "But he still would've had plenty of time to take the technology for himself. But we later killed him for an unrelated crime..." "I have no other skills! I...I was as loyal as I could be to the Ji Pei, how was I to know the politics between them and the Blue Hand?! I could not bear to abandon the cause of the Ji Pei, so I contacted the head scientist here, Miss Telsa. It was a low-key position, so I continued working for the Ji Pei in secrecy, but assassins have been looking for me for months..." "That is all I know, I swear to you!" "Damn it. Damn it. Yet another empty lead, but....this is why these problems have to be STOPPED. U'Reeka should be dead, but he created an entire race of abominations, he could've been capable of anything!" Avina turns away from Chalvo in disgust. The old man looks close to tear with the sheer stress of the situation thrust upon him. Out the window, the heroes can see movement on the docks below: more automatons were knocking on their door. The alchemist shakes her head, turning to the party. "....What do you figure we do with him? He's not exactly able to hide here now....and what he's been helping researching here is unacceptable."
  21. I vote Nur becomes the new party leader.
  22. Atramor grumbles and repeats his attempt to summon. "Not now..."
  23. Sorry, very busy yesterday. "The...the machines?" "Yes, fool, the robots in the streets. We have reason to believe you-" "But I have nothing to do with that!" "I-...." Chalvo trails off nervously. "I thought you were Ji Pei assassins, come to silence me..." Even Avina's rather surprised at this response. "But your file states-" "Several years ago, I was approached by an agent of the Blue Hand, the ruling council of Xu, and asked to report on any Ji Pei-related happenings in the city. It seemed innocuous at the time, the Ji Pei were under the jurisdiction of the Blue Hand! I was hoping for some more recognition for my work, so, I agreed..." "...hmph. And the Ji Pei committed a coup, ousted the Blue Hand, and now they know you were a double agent..." "Yes, but it was not intentional, you must believe me!" There doesn't appear to be much else in the room at this point. "I've heard rumors, but I don't know anything about-" "Liar," snapped Avina, flashing the piece of automaton armor. "This was from a design you handled directly, I would know it anywhere. This is a piece of Guardian Sentinel armor, and the amount of carnage created by that one damn machine-" "...Guardian Sentinel?" "Yes, it got stolen out from under you and you had to hire heroes to get it back! You had direct access to all the pieces and the blueprints-" "But then it was delivered to its client, as intended...and then returned! T-The last I heard the automaton was involved in some sort of crime - all true, Heroica helped bring the perpetrator to justice! - and its broken pieces were delivered back to the Ji Pei by a U'kin, Professor U'Reeka.
  24. Health fixed. Wolfgang rep takes effect now. Chalvo remained impressed against the wall, hands clasped over his ears. Avina got up, grabbing the old man by the upper arm and pulling him over to the party. "I swear, I swear, I didn't know what I was doing! They never told me what they were doing-!!" "I seriously doubt you invented an army of machines without knowing it, imbecile." "I-...what??" Avina crossed her arms ans she saw Annienal stow the lamp. "...Fine. Everything I anticipated it to be."
