Thanks. I just didn't want you to be able to reduce all the enemies to blind and sealed punching bags. I also tried to keep the immunities somewhat related to the enemies they're on. You guys got really lucky that round, though. I either need better dice or better opponents. Hurry, before Haldor dies trying to heal his opponent!

Julius N. Fiddlevilter is a stock market wizard. Not the philanthropist kind that carves secret lairs under their mansions. He's actually pretty corrupt, crushing competition with underhanded methods. Until one day, he burst into flame at random. Considering it fate, he miraculously built up an immunity against burning alive over time and became the superhero with the creative name of Fwoosh. He's less of a 'get the kitty out of a tree' kind of hero, more a 'burn the tree down and cross your fingers kitty's still alive' kind of hero. But the important thing is he's still a hero. His primary weakness and archnemesis is water. -
Whoops. Fixed.

Round One of Bonaparte Cadet Showdown Arthur uses Scroll of Frailty on Morgan - Success (Morgan is Fragile) Arthur uses Darkness on Morgan, back row - Greater Spell (164 darkness damage) Thalion uses Fire on Morgan, back row - Shield (Magic Burst, 10 fire damage to Morgan, 10 - 1 = 9 to Henry) De'kra attacks Morgan Henry, back row - Lethal Aim (7 - 1 = 6 damage, no sudden death) Barur attacks Morgan Henry, back row - Hit (16/2 = 8 - 1 = 7 damage) The battle starts off well. Arthur renders Morgan even more vulnerable to attacks, and with it, deals a blast of dark magic that leaves her reeling. Thalion, still annoyed by her discrimination, finishes her off by unleashes a ring of fire around him. It leaves her on the ground, smoking faintly, while Henry gets up at once, barely a singe on his armor. De'kra's handcannon looses a weak blast that hardly leaves a bruise. Barur lands a blow on him, but his armor yet again softens it. One enemy remains. Enemies "Morgan? Aw, crap." If it's too extreme, maybe the hero has just half their health/ether/level halved for the rest of the Quest?

I would be up for that.
-
At Thalion's raised tone, Morgan slammed the end of her handcannon against the ground, causing a loud 'clunk'. Even Henry jumped. "I'm afraid I have to insist you leave; now. The Bonapartes are far more honorable and just than you ever could hope to be, we don't need your help keeping a handle on things around here. If we do happen to see a Wolfgang member, maybe I'll send you his head once we're done punishing the scum. Now off with you." "...Uh, yeah."
-
It wasn't hard for Thalion to see restrained fury behind the guard's eyes. "Are you accusing the Bonapartes of corruption? Heroica's assistance in Eubric is appreciated, but you need to learn your place, elf. The port is our domain, you're not needed to help protect it, hero or not. The harbormaster is indisposed right now." "Wait, huh? Don't you mean intoxified?" "No, Henry." "Naw, you're right, that ain't the word...hum...intoximarted...intoxigimated? ...well, you know, whatever that other word for 'drunk' is, right?" The other guard sighs.
-
The female guard gave Thalion a hard, icy look. Aside from intimidating, it was also observant. The other cadet blinked at the elven mage vacantly. "...Yes, I suppose you look like you could be from Heroica. No, none of those lecherous mongrels have been around here, or they'd become as much a warning as those miserable rioters. I can also guarantee no sinister business has been conducted in this area, the Bonapartes have had the docks under their protection for over two centuries."
-
Like I've mentioned to you before, what I love about Witch is that you can do almost anything. Healing and high health bonus allows for limited tanking, poison (while I agree without the Talisman the class is quite underpowered) can really ravage opponents, and Hex is great for keep large groups of enemies occupied. As long as you have the right equipment, it's a very well-rounded class. I haven't seen one enemy yet immune, specifically, to Badly Posioned, and at least 2 dozen immune to sudden death in Quest 44. Assassins are one of the best AC choices damage-wise, but that's about all they can do.

"Steelaxe...huh. Ain't that the same clan that orc from the town guards' prison was in?" Atramor remarked to Nyx and Rufindel. "Of course, he could speak perfectly fine (save for that orc speech they often use) and wasn't a slave..." -
Well, in a more direct 100% kind of way (as in, literally no reason not to be Mime instead), a lot of classes have perks that can't be used by basic classes, and thus cannot by being a Mime.
-
Warden is built around its ability to use the best equipment (ranged weapons and shields) at the same time, so it makes sense Mime's pretty much 100% better.
-
Mystic Knights can enchant shields, too, though.
-
The party would be walking out onto the street, and would be within the guards' line of sight, just to make sure I haven't confused you too terribly. Will Arthur still lead the party to look at the front of the building?

Best polybag ever.

Atramor turns to glance at Boomingham, then at Zoe, then rolls his eyes. "Boomin'ham, don't think you're the only one here that disproves of this crap. Where I come from, there's hardly any slaves, but I've personally known several. It's a meager life, but it can be dealt with; do you honestly wanna make 'em fugitive, escaped slaves? The hell do we do with them once we've freed 'em? If they're recaptured, thing's'll get ten times worse for 'em. Does the lawful, Paladin party leader want to single-handedly screw over our entire mission, a buncha' innocent slaves, and us, if we get overwhelmed? Would ya' lead us to ruin?" Another voice followed his, to Atramor's surprise. "I vaguely recall a story of another senseless maverick going against the odds to do what's right. You told it, you're well aware of how such a venture would end." McCafferey clucked quietly once and fell to silence after sharing her own sentiment. -
I think Paladins are so popular because they're really just a Knight with more health, healing abilities, and a slightly enhanced shield. Atramor chose Witch for several reasons. The Shield, actually, isn't one of them. Hex isn't really powerful, but the other pros of the class outweigh that more than enough for me. The thing that really pushed me over was the Witch's Talisman. At that point there was only one in the game, and nobody else seemed interested. After seeing how much destruction it could wreak with the Wyvern battle in Quest 14, I figured it was worth the leap. The high HP addition and the ability to heal made it a really self-sustaining class, that was a plus too. Special Mirror I thought would just be a fun little bonus, whereas with the stronger, more complex special skills coming up it's become one of my favorite features. The only thing I miss from Rogue is the gold.

Arthur leads his party back down the alley to where they'd entered it, passing Chalvo, and then try to go around to the left side of the building. Luckily, being a somewhat important Bonaparte building, it's stand-alone rather than crammed next to others like most of the taverns and shops on the docks. This wall of the office is also blank, however. The heroes have only yet to see the front and roof of the building now.
