Most of the ships are getting rigged, loaded, or unloaded as the early rays of the sun bounce off the rather calm waters. Soon enough, they spot dull, almost rusted lettering on the stern of one of them, spelling out The Magpie. It's a rather small vessel, and looks quite worn. Despite the pale white planks that make up most of the hull, faded black planks still show through in many places, and the sails look like they've been patched over Repeatedly. A pile of crates and barrels are stacked on the pier the Magpie is tied to. As they watch, a Hobgoblin and a dwarf start loading the various containers. It's apparent the ship's preparing to leave. Before the odd duo know it, a cloaked woman on the deck addresses them. "Any particular reason you're on my ship's pier?"
  2. Arthur spots the familiar Lion flagship docked on one of the piers, but there's no gangplank, and nobody's onboard. Evidently all the Lion Knights are at Bric'bay, as is usual.
  3. Cerebrus, you might wanna scrap that jello off your head, I think it's doing something to your brain.
  4. Fernando's got a point. So if you value your life, make as many baseless accusations as humanely possible! Even if you're not actually human.
  5. Why? Minus the (considerable) nostalgia factor, it's a bunch of yellow, black, and white bricks and a few figs. It's a great set for its time, but it wouldn't transfer well to a modern-day set. I'm also crossing my fingers for a few old factions to show up, or at least a new one with an interesting color scheme. Dragon Knights had one of the best in my opinion. Lion Knights....not so much.
  6. Atramor nodded as he took the money back from Ellaria, and blinked as Boomingham purchased the slave instead. Hopefully this Blackhawk guy was exaggerating a bit when he said he was crazed...but now what? What if he didn't turn out to be a guard? He grumbled a little, glancing at Zoe for a moment. So far their 'leads' hadn't done much good.
  7. De'kras Magic Compass pointed toward the docks. Everyone can decide for themselves if they want to split up or not, since obviously Arthur can't force them.
  8. How so? It's not like we can, say, vote to lynch somebody, or anything.
  9. I bet the guys speaking in song are scum.
  10. "Oh, no, much farther than either of those." Arthur finds a few references to the Magpie, bringing in low-key shipments like food and refugees, and there are no patterns evident. And yes, both the Chiimaera and the Magpie were still in port.
  11. It takes some time for Chalvo to process all of the information. "Well, it...appears my suspicions were correct. Possibly." "I don't know what Operire goods are, I'll look into that...Avinkyl?" He blinks, then rubs his eyes. "No....pursuing the Wavebreaker isn't an option, if that's the case...Avinkyl's a small, foreign port that may as well be on the other side of Olegaia...but why would the automaton be moved to the docks? Hardly makes sense for it to be moved to a warehouse and then back to the docks...hmm...the captain being bribed makes sense. The Wavebreaker isn't a dedicated Ji Pei ship, and if the Bonapartes knew they had high priority Ji Pei goods aboard, no doubt they'd pay whatever was necessary to get ahold of them, even though we paid a considerable amount for the delivery...." "What, these fellows?! I couldn't possibly bring them to the Palace! Kidnapping Bonaparte soldiers would only justify their hated of us...I...I'll keep them quiet....at least until we're done with all this...if you want to investigate this...'warehouse O', by all means, do so...is there anything else in the logs?"
  12. A few people passed below, some Bonapartes, but none looked interested in the building. Arthur grabs the torch and heads back down to Chalvo. "Ah, good, you're back. What did you find?"
  13. The Wavebreaker seems to be the most recent 'theft', and the bottle on the floor is currently empty. Barur Thormek (played by Aveal the black sheep) Level 10 Cleric Power: 17 Health: 18/18 Ether: 14/14 Defense: 1 Gold: 139 Equipment: Staff of the Cultist Battlemage (WP: 7, borrowed from Arthur Justus Regulus VII; 50% chance of Fleeing upon being KO'd; suitable for Mages and Clerics), Robe of the Magi (SP: 1), Ancient Crown (First successful strike deals the Cursed effect, headwear, borrowed from Arthur Justus Regulus VII) Inventory: Topaz (Lightning, lent to Thalion Dwinlas), Ruby (Fire, lent to Arthur Justus Regulus VII), Potion, Remedy, 2 Venoms, 5 Bones, Bedroll, 2 Tonics, Rune Staff (WP: 4), Mulled Wine (Causes the Inspired-effect, doubling the target's current and maximum health for the duration of one battle.)
  14. Don't forget the Mulled Wine, there's two to distribute. Arthur does find notes on other pages that indicate intercepted ships, most all of them carrying Ji Pei supplies, and he can often find outgoing ships with the same names leaving with 'Operire goods' to random ports. The harbormaster doesn't have any valuables or anything identifying him as a Bonaparte, besides his somewhat lavish blue coat. He does indeed find several pre-written notices, warnings, letters, etc, all very formal and stamped with the Bonaparte crest rolled up in many shelves. He finds no spare uniforms or emblems, or letters of marque.
  15. ...I meant to say that, too.
  16. For the future, bold the actions you're actually doing, -obelix-. Thalion picks up the Blunt Dagger (WP: 1, dagger, suitable for rogues, mages, harlots, infiltrators, and alchemists). He also opens the chest, revealing 15 gold 2 Mulled Wines (Causes the Inspired-effect, doubling the target's current and maximum health for the duration of one battle.) Meanwhile, Arthur tears through the logbook. It's considerable well-organized (despite obvious alcohol stains on several pages) and soon finds the record he's looking for. Shipping Logs The larger image is linked to an even larger one if it's needed. The harbormaster is obviously awake now, and flails around furiously, growling and cursing through his gag.
  17. De'kra finds the chest unlocked, the dagger ordinary, the harbormaster drooling slightly, and the Questmates standing around. And he catches some nasty glare from the sun when he tries to look out the window with his magnifying glass.
  18. Let's get down to it, then. If you don't admit you're a villain right now, I'll burn you like your arm just brushed against the edge of the stove and stung for at least twenty minutes - without putting any ice on it.
  19. The harbormaster shifts and mumbles. Apparently he's not a very heavy sleeper...
  20. It's fine, those NPCs were designed to be aggravating. The next ones you meet shouldn't be as annoying.
  21. I think he means for the Wren Quest.
  22. So close. Arthur's casting is successful. The harbormaster slumps right onto his desk - right on top of the logbook - and snores loudly.
  23. "...One? You have more?"
