Heroica RPG - Quest #69: The Hook on the Other Hand
CMP replied to CMP's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Afraid not, my friend." "Yes, sir. I actually am quite a fan of your organization!" That reminds me, I linked the original size to the image if for whatever reason you do want to read it. -
One of the best days in Heroica is when we all hit level 50 and start introducing our second characters and get to pretty much do everything right over again.
-
Yeah, debates are what gets things done in this game. If we don't argue about stuff we've got pretty much no say in regards to rules/items and such. Doesn't mean we shouldn't be civil and reasonable about it.
-
Maybe it's not so overpowered a few months later since we're all still levelling up, gaining experience, and upgrading weapons, but at the time it had the potential to be one of the most overpowered weapons in the game, yes. I don't feel like the Crystal Mace is all that bad. You have to pour 1800 gold into it get it as powerful as it can be (and once it is, it literally cannot be anymore powerful), you'd be losing all your gems, and even then, maces are only ever suitable for knights, clerics, and a handful of expert classes, most of which can't even deal a ton of damage anyway. It doesn't deal debilitating effects, the elements in it cannot be manipulated, and all it takes is one Ethereal enemy to make it worthless. I think it's fine.
-
Conspirator was overpowered. And I wouldn't've been able to afford it if it was still WP: 25.
-
The Great Rogue Nerf of '013.
-
Even though she wouldn't gain any GP?
-
I thought PJ was a little less predictable than that, really, but whatever. I loved it too. Smaug's voice is spectacular in my opinion, and I'm also glad that Thorin's kind of turning away from the noble, exiled prince he was framed as in AUJ. I'm super excited.
-
That was completely where I got this idea, actually. Love/hate those guys.
-
Thanks.
-
It showed up earlier in the Quest, but I guess I could post them again. (Gives the hero the Slowed effect, suitable for heroes, accessory.)
-
The AIUPIIUP is suitable for heroes only...and this is why. "Er, no thank you, not exactly a menial labor type person."

That wasn't a matter of minutes, was it? Oh well. At least I got that photoshopped explosion in there! Which time in what place with what people in what Quest? That happens more often than you might think. And I hope I captured Guts' look of dejection in the first picture while he's staring at the guitar.
-
Wait a second, Maurice doesn't even have a Remedy. I'll assume you healed him instead, I suppose... Wally is shaking visibly underneath the cloak of the AIUPIIUP, but otherwise hasn't moved. The Masked Man is standing completely motionless on the stage, staring forward. "Err, I don't have any on me at the moment...I could use one myself, actually..." "No idea. As far as I know nobody I know in the Guild was aware of this, I only found out about it last-minute at the Marketplace." "Mister Holla? I thought I recognized you, hah! I guess this wouldn't be the first time you guys have saved my hide, huh?" The alchemist took the Voucher and skimmed it. "Uh, hmm. I don't claim to be a master alchemist by any means, but, well, hows about I give you something worth at least a dozen lessons in the Guild...?" Rian digs around in his cloak...but the party's interrupted by a sudden, ringing, poorly-Photoshopped boom. The entire party turns to see rubble flying from one of the buildings next to the stage, and hear a cold, venomous voice echo from above it. "Alas, 'tis already a mess down there. Arophemus, wouldst thou clear us somewhere to land?" A heavy thump issues as a mass of human muscles mixed with fiery red, leathery skin jumps down from the hole in the wall. Its visage is concealed by its metal mask, but it proceeds to push several bodies up against the wall with obvious strength. A crowd of red-cloaked and black-hooded figures drops down into the area. "Hmph. More Heroicans. Most annoying...they must die first, of course. Then, mine fellows, we slay thine armored alchemist. To arms!" "Hold a moment, sir! Look at this most insidious device! 'Tis a most horrid conjunction of machine and magic. Do I have thine master's permission to destroy it? It will take but a moment." The cannoneer prods the AIUPIIUP. "Of course. We cannot err from our mission, but nothing so monstrous can be ignored even in this most important quest!" "Oh, crap!! Somebody grab it before these lunatics break it!" AIUPIIUP - (Gives the carrier the Slowed effect, accessory, suitable for heroes) Chaos erupts at once. Even Wally and Rian are dragged into the fray. PREPARE FOR BATTLE! Right, the people who need them, not the guy who can already drop half the enemy party in three rounds. Update coming in a matter of minutes.
-
People don't give you loot, they give the party loot. The thing is, balanced loot is rarely useful for completely unbalanced Guts.
-
You mean the alchemist Guts saved back in Quest 63 who now idolizes him as his hero?!
-
That's fair, I'm never generous towards any players. I give whatever loot I think is a fair amount for the party and let them handle it from there. If I directly give someone loot over others (IE the song I just gave Erik in Quest 69) it's because it was pre-planned and there was requirement they fulfilled (he was the first to tip the bard back when the Quest started). That said, I've dropped you the damn bait, if you're going to use this Voucher, now's your chance.

Soryx looks around, sheathing his blade. "Seems that's all of them." The demon hunter glances at the bard and the weremutt. "I can keep an eye on these two for a few days. Make sure they're not attacked anymore. I doubt it. You seemed to be their target. I don't know what exactly you may have done that provoked them so....but given their obvious antagonistic nature, I'll assume it was something well-intentioned. Whatever you may have done today..." he pauses, sizing up each hero. "....I'm inclined to think Eubric is a better place for it." THE QUEST IS SUCCESSFUL! Feel free to interact with eachother/talk to the NPCs before leaving. And Pala, you've got to divide this loot...but we're pretty much done here now. And I'm serious this time. Thanks for taking part in this (unbelievably long) Quest, everyone. -
Right, forgot about that, it should be in the loot too. I'll update things tomorrow, everyone. Need more pictures and it's super late where I am.

Huh? He's already immune to cursed, all this'll do is give him Intimidation. Which, come on, he's like a pint-sized Grim Reaper, he's pretty intimidating already.

Mirror or be Mirror'd.

Just remember the three tenants of witchood: 1. Wear lots of black. 2. Venom is your best friend. 3. Let no allied NPC live. You're in a Zepher Quest now, there should be pretty of interesting, friendly, unwitting NPCs for you to accidentally off at some point.
