it's known as high maintenance! lol...yes celebrities can be high maintenance... but if you want easy maintenance you would buy a cheap, visually disgusting hybrid and not a sl500 benz. :-P

haha joe made a hero named after me. thanks!

i rather have risk or stratego (i think they are both the same, just different names). all you get with monopoly are roof tiles and at best 6 minifigs. risk or stratego on the other hand... *wub* *wub* *wub*

glad you agreed 99% with my analysis. however i dont know how you get from iron "CONDOR" to bronze tank.

incorrect. you are forgetting the asians, actually the south koreans. they are probably lurking in some korean language forums which you do not know about. the japanese fans are also numerous. i've seen many "japanesque" names on brickshelf...not sure how many are japanese-wannabes though. :-/ but judging from the sale of sets on ebay to these bidders i gotta say the population is fairly large. also, as i thought about it more, could it be the south korean buyer is actually a foreigner expatriate? usually those have a commanding salary so it is likely he/she has a huge bank account to afford those ridiculous prices.

$2 per minifig for tic-tac-toe, $2.5 per minifig for parcheesi. kinda steep for the tic-tac-toe since the police mf is like $1 or less on BL. not that good value but is another source if you need it. :-/

i agree with thrawn. it looks like mr plastic to me.

that's pretty cool. i came across this folder. it's also very nice! http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Legohaul.../FloatingRocks/

well, my view is that it is the largest fortress. the reason being, this is a lego set we are talking about, and historically, lego sets were tailored for the regular kiddies, not mocs. so obviously to an afol it will seem like a scout fort rather than the main fortress. we have had many castles that are small compared to the live or afol mocs, but they were designed to be the main castles and not small outlets. so my vote goes to phes. i didnt physically vote because i'm not a pirates fan anyway...just a casual observer who was bored with the other forums and ventured here looking for adventure and a little bit of mischief. ;-)

i am definitely hoping for this. :-) maybe in 10 years i can retire... :-P but i think only the classics go up in price. the failures actually fall. groups like ufo, insectoids, i see being sold on ebay for next to pennies. the hotties like those you mentioned (castle, train etc) are the only ones that keep increasing in price. i also noticed for star wars, some of the redone sets actually fall in price. for eg, 7150 y-wing and advanced tie is actually very close to msrp or lower. i think it is because tie advanced was redesigned, and y-wing is about to be re-designed and released....so the old ones become "unwanted" much like the old b-wing and old a-wing.

you don't watch movies? the hottest chicks these days are scarlett johansson, jessica alba, angelina jolie (although i find her more slutty than hot), ...well those were the only names i remember. PA is way past her prime, although i wouldn't say she was ever hot before since her lips were fake, the boobs were fake, just about everything is fake including the hair. maybe not the brain...but what else can you replace the air head with? more air?

haha...when i first read that (the word "vad")...i thought you were mocking german's attempt at pronouncing "what"...then i realize you were referring to vader316. :-P

Steam-punk mech? :-/ steam-punk...not sure where the punk comes from, but my understanding is that steam-punk = retro. cyber punk = futuristic. punk seems to mean machine or something...steam = steam technology....which is synonymous with retro or ancient....lol. does that answer your question?

not necessarily. some governments give tax rebate for export oriented industries. if the goods produced are meant for export, the sales sometimes get taxed at a much lower rate. so much so that TLC may be able to afford a much lower sale price overseas than in local markets. for eg, japan has been known to have such tax rules. US sometimes accuses japan of "dumping" goods in the US markets due to the much lower sale prices in US compared to japan. -
so sad. your bidded set didn't come with the free truck. you could have asked me to ship it to you. i could have bought it during the free shipping week, keep the free truck, send it to you for basic set cost (+tax) + shipping cost = win-win for both of us. :-)
-
it's $6 plus shipping for a large box. if only it was for like 10 or 20 of them then maybe it is worth while. the instructions can be downloaded from lego factory. i would just order from BL. :-P
-
it's there as of aug 15. i guess the set will be sold soon either from tru or s@h. nothing much in terms of the set...but should be fun for the little kids. :-P

just use brickshelf! :-)

Maybe the french catalog is different from the Austrian... hmm, maybe. if so, please scan the catalog, master yoda! *wub* *yoda* *y*
-
there's nothing new in that catalog. where's the part about white lightning vs bridge walker? i think yoda is lying. *sing*
-
hi - not sure where to put this so i thought how about general discussion? for those of you who got the mindstorm set, is there a review? how do you use the set? any creative ideas you have done with the set? do you think this would be a classic at some point or will it degenerate into a have-been? thanks.

glow-in-the-dark color change ???
natelite replied to Brick Miner's topic in General LEGO Discussion
if you ask me, i think the head should be gitd, the torso, hands and legs should be gitd. the shroud should not be gitd. that would give a more authentic "ghost" appearance when the light is turned off (i.e. imagine the eyes, smile, arms and legs showing). the hands, funnily enough, are in yellow. that just strikes me as odd seeing how the head is black. oh well.... :-/ -
too bad you spelled bricks as "bircks"....whatever that means... :-| but nice art and font!

That price is in Euros. and it's for germany. so, to convert to us prices, first convert to usd, then halve it, ie ~$8 /2 = $4. :-)
