  1. you might?!?! that's the understatement of the year! everyone should buy one regardless the reason. :-P
  2. agreed. that's what i said...probably not as eloquent. :-P still no military theme though. TLG has weird policies.... *alien*
  3. you can get it from the lego stores just not from S@H. did you ever visit a lego store before? you are quite clueless about what you can get or cannot get.
  4. maybe you can make hulk out of bricks and stick a minifig head on it.
  5. i saw the toolbox in a lego shop, so they are official merchandize. i wouldn't recommend people buying it because it is made from cardboard. very easy to be destroyed especially if you have young ones. i can't remember how much it was retailing for...i should have taken pictures for the skeptics.
  6. i dont know how much some toys can help you raise money. it will probably be a few hundred bucks at best. not sure what you are raising the money for....
  7. a suggestion: maybe you would like to organize the strips into subfolders for each episode. or maybe have a folder for episode 1-10 and 11-20, etc. it's hard to navigate with so many strips in one folder. ;-) great stuff btw.
  8. i think lego is just getting rid of it's pseudo politics and just focus on getting what the customers want. seriously...if you think a tommy machine gun is not real you've gotta be living in a shell somewhere in tuvalu. you may make an excuse for star wars but batman sets are violent. period.
  9. thanks for the tip. gotta find k-mart stores. they are especially hard to find as most closed down after the merger with sears.
  10. this is interesting. i just tested castle sets on my son. and i gotta say the AFOL much hated kk2 is his favorite. i guess all that action TLG designed was right on for a kid. they do like action over static sets. he also likes the colorful jellybeans over the dark grey armors/minifigs. i guess that might be a shocker to afols... :-/ 8-
  11. umm, the comics should only be a place to get information. why are you so hyped up over such a jelly bean story. it's quite clear it's catered to kids. it has been crap since episode 1. mechs break down for no reason. pilots get new mech for no reason. just about every episode has no reason. takeshi got to drive the mountain king for no reason. he also get the new supernova for no reason. i dont even know why the sensei showed him his new mech. so what happened to the new guy that ryo rescued? again no mention of this mysterious person who supposedly have seen the robot's side of the mountain. see? there is absolutely no rhyme or reason to the comic. it's purely crap entertainment for little kids. it's not like they would understand that a story need make sense as long as they see some action every week...and the "ending" leaves them wanting more. :-/
  12. i googled and you're right....a few on long island and one upstate. i thought i read recently they banned walmart from setting a shop in brooklyn because it's bad for the local business and also because of low wages. hmm....dunno. i guess they were desperate for my quarter. :-P now i can share in the hatred of jelly bean knights. :-P
  13. wow... nice review. i have to say your review has swayed me from my initial hatred over this line. for such a small price tag it has a lot of play value. i could see this set as a way of introducing my kid to marine live and maybe have a small treasure hunting adventure. i guess my ignorance was mostly from the poor box design. the box art probably put me off, but the actually set is very nice indeed especially for its price range.
  14. X-O Holy %*$#! Were do you live? I hope WAL*MART is doing the same here in NY, cuase now I want to visit one SOOOOOOOOOOOOO badly! 8-| 8-| 8-| is that a trick question? there is no walmart in ny. i think the local residents banned them from setting up stores in ny. you might want to visit walmart in nj or conneticut.
  15. i visited my local walmart for storage boxes and happened to see the lego sets on clearance sale. what's available depends on your local store. i nabbed a few batwing sets at 50%, and the highlight of the day...the largest discount ever scored...is it 70%? no.... is it 90%? no....is it 99%? no....it is ....99.74%!!! 8-
  16. i won batboat and killer croc, and the 4888 submarine set. :-/
  17. you said they sell very fast...but why is the 2005 set still available from BL at a heavily reduced price. :-P go get them as minifig packs!!! btw, i just seen the 2006 set and i wont reveal much.... i find it a VERY interesting pack as it contains a lot of printed parts, which can be used in mocs...useful for space, town, just about any settings. about the same number of minifigs as last year. the minifigs are not as varied as last year though...but whatever. :-P
  18. excellent! all worthy of my hard earned money. :-P we're still missing the mother set @ $99.99... 2nd half?
  19. thanks for entry. it's quite good. i especially find the head interesting. looks gundamsque. i can see why you like bionicle parts now...very creative use of the large pieces like the motocycle's part as the head. do you have a funny story to go with it since you named it the "escape" mech? it's kinda unusual as it still has a weapon... :-D i also like how you played with the dramatic lighting in the second picture. *y*
  20. cool...no price tag...not special edition. so october? :-P in time for black friday? hope there's a thanksgiving sale in tru... :-D
  21. dunno what you mean... http://www.brickset.com/search.aspx?query=7710 that's a train set if you were implying the missing set is 7710... :-|
  22. i was refering to cars... :-| |-/
