damn TRU trying to make extra buck out of having these sets early. i also saw 2 aquaraiders sets: tiger shark attack and crab crusher. crab crusher was at $59.99. $10 mark up for having them early in stores. i didnt notice what the price was for tiger shark. this was in the northeast region or NJ to be specific. i'm sure they are available in the tri-state area.

Millenium Falcon on US S@H...but sold out?
natelite replied to Starwars4J's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
i saw that too. not sure what the deal is. i think maybe they came across some excess sets and listed them online. too bad they usually sell out when i got to it. pity...they had 7264 appear before too. btw, that's just a guess... :-) -
wow, looks like i have to buy the sailbarge soon! it's so popular!
-
well $1 converts to about KRW940. for simple math, just remove the last 3 0s from the price list. eg, 80,000 should come up to roughly $80. most sets go from $25 to 80$. i would assume you buy them not for the sets but for the accessories. i think they are okay, but just not to my taste. your second link is funny! talk about police brutality. 3 police officers with high tech weaponry and vehicle going after one punk with a baton. :-P
-
wow...i checked the sets, and they arent cheap. the castle sets have really funny minifig accessories. the hats are hillarious. looks mostly like fright knights and a really weird rounded top hat. p.s. ooops...just saw an enlish link at the top right corner. :-P
-
i thought the scout ship looks weird. everything else looks good. i like the foldable scouting mech. the troop transporter could use some additional armor instead of being open top. seems to be strong in the air but is somewhat weak on land. could use a tank or two to beef up the infantry units. :-P maybe drop the medic ship and place the tanks there. :-P

exo-champ - i saw your rules... here are some suggestions: i think that the robot mechs should not be cheaper point-wise compared to the human mechs. we know they are of similar power and the only advantage humans have over the robots is that they are "intelligent". as meca one said it best "we have superior technology...failure does not compute" :-P it is hard to organize "intelligence" especially when the controlling person is not AI in nature. :-P to enforce the "intelligence" ruling, the robot mechs should have a routine attack/defend sequence. eg, always attack at 0 heat point, always attack when in range, etc. so the robot player mostly determine the walk path (ie macro strategy rather than the micro strategy - when to attack, etc).
-
well, he's mistaken. the "code" is located on the yellow 1x2 studless plate in each set. take a look closely at one of the CCs. :-P
-
but it's not a set. the only sets i saw were the 4 large mechs and the 2 small mechs. there isn't any set number otherwise. and i am not sure what legomilk is trying to point out...
-
where do you see the robot gate? i dont get it. btw, dill - can you tell us if the devastator robot for claw crusher has dual color torso like the robots from SP, TF and FV mechs or single color like the robots manning the arms of BW. as for the 2007 set codes, where can you enter it in the exo-force website? i was wondering who tried already. :-) i saw dill's CC's code. :-P

Link someone went to florida's lego store and they have the actual sets up. click on the link for the folder. the sky guardian will definitely need modding. the arms are hediously ugly. on the plus side, the cockpits look decent compared to 2006 sets. some folks may find the bionicle arms good, personally i dont like them. i do agree though that blade titan went from bleh to pretty good. my favs at first was iron condor and sky guardian. now, sky guardian has been relegated to last place and blade titan to top runners. :-P both definitely need modding though. :-) keep searching fansites for more pictures please!
-
agreed. and there's a reason for that...it's called "price point". :-) it's so obvious the prototype is way bigger in terms of parts count compared to the final version. it doesn't surprise me that perhaps it was meant to be a $100 set instead of the $140 behemoth final version.
-
can you get me 3 7264 sets and ship to NY? :-P
-
crap they changed it. did anyone save down the prototype pics? i like some of the preliminary designs. the base was certainly much better. it had a covered walkway to the landing pod. although the prelim sub was crap. as for the minifigs, i like the final version better than prelim version. the giant squid in the base set is also very nice. the base set looks decent enough to buy. will probably get it for my kid. :-P the harpoon turret is stupid though. why would you put it on top of the base? the other sets aren't really that appealing. btw, did anyone notice that the skeleton inside the squid was a previous AR member? it has the group's helmet.

A-wing, V-wing, B-wing, and Tie-interceptor all at 30% discount. Ends this saturday. If you haven't got them yet, probably a good time to pick them up for such a steep discount. :)
-
are we voting for the fortress or the set? if fortress, hands down vikings. if set, then maybe EF stands a chance on the strength of the two mechs that come with it.
-
lego us is located in ct, part of the tri-state (ny, nj, ct) area where i live. :-P i think they are thinking of moving the packaging operations to mexico...so maybe in a few years texas and california would be getting the sets first! :-P
-
lego is really skimping on the EF sets for 2007. 144/162 parts for $15. sheesh...no wonder they looked terrible. :-/ if mechs dont look like mechs but like stick figures, dont expect customers to buy them. >:-(
-
sorry i dont have any of the answers since i didnt make it. i just like the design...the head unit reminds me of bridge walker, but the arms are better proportioned than BW. and the tank track is just pure icing. *wub*
-
that thing looks sturdy enough. not sure about the parts count. :-P let's hope EF07 will have something as amazing as this. *sweet*
-
yeah, xenologer is right. but it wasnt a 1x1 round plate but a half-technic pin that was pushed into the axle. look at these two full-blown pictures from lego stores

mister phes...dont quite understand your post. were you refuting me or agreeing with me?

Lego short on supply for Xmas sale
natelite replied to ScottManDeath's topic in General LEGO Discussion
i think that in general the toy industry is also very finicky. what is a huge hit this year may not be a hit the following year. it is extremely difficult to forecast what will be a hit with the general consumer. take tickle me elmo for eg. when it first came to the market, no one, not even the toy company forecast that it will be in such huge demand. it was oversold literally overnight and suddenly every kid in the world wanted one. as one part of the world wanted one, more parts of the world wanted one too. the buzz grew, there was a media frenzy about the hot toy. some kids who didn't want it before suddenly wanted one now. throw in your average speculators and scalpers and you create even more demand for it. take 6212 for eg. i didn't actually wanted to get one initially but when i saw that it was the top 2 hotseller list, and how the sets were selling like hotcakes in the stores, i panicked and bought one at retail. :-P my opinion is that sometimes the scarcity of the set drives the demand. and producing an accurate forecast is made virtually impossible with this catch-22 logic. (ie, produce too many and demand drops, produce too few and you can't keep up with the demand). -
it's bat knights, not fright knights! ;-) i think the helmets looked ridiculous...especially the one with the batwings. i dont think it is good to be honest. at least with the jellybeans you can spray paint over but you can't do much with a badly designed helmet.
