7714 is a 2007 model. why? it has a brick code. :-o i'm not exactly feeling this mech though. nothing too special apart from the gold bricks. it's quite similar to the 2007 builds.

takeshi's mechs begin with L for Land based. the airborne mechs begin with A for Air based. Ryo's mech are AT for Advanced Tactical. it's not an inverted 7. :-P

well, i got every set except for the double catapult vs armored ofnir dragon. and the viking chess set. pretty good line. i'll probably roll the dragons with the arch wizard from the new castle line. make a lich mf and have it rule the new skeleton army. that way i will have 4 factions to my medieval theme collection: vikings, lich/undead, dragons/sorcerors, and the good guy knights and swordsmen. it will be kinda like warcraft except that instead of orcs/taurens, i'll have vikings. and instead of night elves i'll have dragons. :-P what do you think?

yup...prototypes are usually made from cheap plastic molds. :-P in fact some parts, like the gold visor seems to be spray painted. and the fisto head...like from claymation. hopefully the production version will be better and with more variety than just trans-dark-green. not that i dont dig the jelly color, but it could of course be better. ;-) what i dont dig is customized alien parts. ie, droids parts dont mix with EF robot parts or alien parts. if only they make it so that mfs (normal and customized) can mix and match. ie alien torso + robot legs, or alien torso + minifig legs. :-P

i like the gold visors. i think it is great....you can finally make halo mocs from them. ;-)

i dont think it is going to be grey. the box is probably better indicator than the prototypes in the toyfair. the box arts have the knights in dark blue, and the horse's padding too was in dark blue vs the prototypes which were in gold.

did anyone else saw the pictures from the french site? hayato's mech looks good from the front (as usual) but the side and back are horrible. the jetpack is definitely too big for the small mech. looks like the EF is dying down. i'm not too keen on the robot suv either. MM theme however...that is beginning to look better. i like the new gold small visor. woo hoo....that i am betting will be extremely popular with fans all around. even space critics. they will probably buy a few small sets just to get the visors. why? think halo. ;-) right now, the only cool colors are trans-black and black. :-P this should add right to that list. the green alien mf however... :-X :-| well, couldnt be worse than bionicle playsets mfs. X-D

i get the women soccer team sets if i ever want women mfs. they go for like $2 in clearance shops or those $5 below shops and the sets have 6-7 women mfs in them.

sorry to hear that. i got the nitro for 50% off. didn't find any construction crane. those sets were like 3 month old, special edition and going to clearance. not sure what those store managers were thinking... :-P oh well, their loss is my gain. :-) *sweet*

this is an extremely good set. i just love that matte silver armor, helmet, visor and sword. so yummy! *wub* the skeleton's armor/helmet is just a rehash of vladek's, including the platemail. :'-( but it's still good. ;-) edit: if you look at this picture carefully you will notice in the background the FLAIL is not made up of chain links. that SUCKS!

i think any city type themes would sell. i think TLG should make a futuristic, a historical, and a space city theme. the future city theme would be something like simcity 3000, filled with hovercars and biodomes. it could be combined with the space as it's pretty much the same except the future city still has some greens in it. :-P and people probably don't need oxygen tanks. the historical can be medieval so that it can also fit in with the "CASTLE" theme (the one involving evil skeletons). this way fans can choose themes and between peaceful or conflict based. for eg, futuristic will fit in with EF in design. in the city theme, robots and humans live together and work together peacefully. the original EF theme will be conflict based where robots and humans annihilate each other. similarly, the space theme involves aliens and humans building colonies together in domes. and the conflict based theme (which is currently MM) will be where aliens and humans exterminate each other. medieval - likewise...except no ghouls or skeletons involved. :-P what do you think? i mean if every theme is conflict based it becomes dull very quickly. and if every theme is peaceful it also becomes dull. even for EF, i like to know what the team is trying to protect. :-P

i still remember back when the almighty dollar used to be stronger than the euro. it was like $1 to EUR0.85 or something. :-/ of course, times have changed... what with mr bush spending all the taxpayers' monies on tax rebates for the rich and the iraq war. :-P my take on the pricing issue is...maybe the policy was set a while ago (like an index was set back in 2001 or something) and a year-over-year pricing point was set annually. say if 7264 was $50 (or $70 cad), then a new set with roughly the same parts and pieces would be priced similarly. what you have then is a disparity when the exchange rates fluctuate. if you look carefully, the biggest discrepancies seem to be from currencies that have strengthened the most against the dollar in the past 5 years or so.

lots of the set in TRU. i already have one at $40 during the buy 1 get 1 50% off. will probably get more if they sell so well in BL, but will be waiting for sale though. :-P

but ryo's mech that comes with it is beautiful though. :'-) buy it for the mech! *sing*

wow...if you feel so strongly about it, i should really think to invest in a set or two. golden katanas can be quite useful to castle (samurai) fans..expecting the price of the swords to rise once sold out. ;-) X-D
