it's a nice ship. too bad the missiles and the bombs' mechanism sucks. they are much better off without them. i will have to use technic bolts to fasten the pins in place. as for the tile seat, why cant they leave 2 studs for the butt? the butt usually doesnt stick very strongly to the studs so it is easy to remove the minifig. it's just silly for the minifig to float around. i'll have to get the ucs version too. :-P

well, the shoulder pads from ufo series are pretty nifty. looking forward to more of those. jelly bean colors please! :-P

i second that! what we need now would be trans-clear AND GITD pieces! that would make an excellent ghost or hologram minifig. on the note of LOTR, i would disagree with it. i much rather have TLC make a faction/race based castle theme/subtheme. it will be cheaper and more fun. with some hair pieces or custom decals you can make your own lotr minifigs.

i recently got a very old box of lego from my parents (from my childhood). some pieces did not age at all. others have yellowed so much. they are on the same minifig too. i'm not quite sure what causes it since if it was purely sunlight i'm sure the entire figure would have yellowed. i have a space police buggy, and only one piece in the prison transporter yellowed but the rest were still okay. it's quite puzzling for me to be honest. i'm speculating here but i think the yellowing may have been caused by oily hands or sweaty palms and exposure to sunlight. we all know if white t-shirts aren't washed properly, it will yellow over time even if you kept it in a dark closet. i think to preserve your lego, if you are going to store it for a while, to wash it clean first before leaving it in an encased display unit.

most star wars sets are sold out or temporary unavailable online. drat...wanted to get sailbarge and UCS vader's tie. only place i can find x-wing and CTT is time square's tru. didn't know there were so many lego star wars fans. SB and ISD all gone...even TS's TRU.

well, the online version is sort of screwed up. the shop certainly sells the star wars sets on promo. KK2, SBSP, Avatar not on sale though. someone picked up all the X-wings, CTT, Sailbarge in my local store before i got there, the bastards! *n* >:-(

i got the CC and CD this weekend during the TRU sale. i must say the two mini sets are much much better than the two larger sets. i think ryo's mech is great and can be moc into an infantry unit. the suit is fantastic...dark green is so useful for infantry units. the mech construction is also good. nice hands, though would be nice if the shield was held by hands instead of a twirling mechanism. CC is okay...but not great. i think the bright orange highlights killed it. otherwise it would have been a nice mech. again, i would just moc the cockpit. it's too exposed. the claw is a nice touch, coupled with the gatling gun it looks like a mean mass infantry unit. certainly much more menacing than the CD, which is holding a measely handgun and a rotating shield. :-P but the good thing is that by using hands, it allows you to moc weapons easily. for eg, if you have a large KK2 figurine you can moc the weapons and shield and turn CD into a close combat mech. same goes for the sky guardian. i think blade titan is pretty cool as it is so no mocing needed. let me know if anyone wants pics.

i thought OC's cold fusion was quite good. funny that it didnt get any vote for best design. so far it looks like EC is the runaway champ yet again. i wonder where LV is. he said he was going to participate in this one. going to leave this open for 1 month. we'll celebrate the winner with a happy new year! :-P edit1 : yup EC is still the runaway champ though we have some pretty good entries. JZ is getting ahead in some categories so maybe he wouldnt be as upset as the first round when he lost. :-P OC is winning the originality category and rightfully so. i myself like it very much, but i do agree with the voters though. cold fusion is very iffy but not the most visually stunning (mostly i think due to the blue) and the pilot is a nerdy woman. if we're designing the first and only female member of EF, we would be idealizing her instead of making our moms as pilots. :-P JZ's has boobs and EC's screams "Look at me, look at me!" with all that vibrant colors, which in all honesty is what most women do (i.e. makeup). similarly their pilots were designed to be as such. JZ's is dangerous and sexy (i am a cold killer but i prefer to kill you by showing you my bra) and EC's cute and deadly (ponytail and a "hiiiiyyyyaaa! you're dead" aura about her).

best design - it is visually appealing? does it look like a nice mecha? best fit - does it fit in with the general theme of the Exo Force universe. for eg, battlemechs from mech warrior look absolutely fantastic but wouldn't fit in the gundam universe since the mechs for gundam have a different style to it. most original - does the mech look like it was copied from somewhere or does it look like an original creation? if your mech follows the construction technic of say the stealth hunter and you only changed the color or the armor plating then it would not be original. if your mech looks like it was made by your own design then it would be original.

i dont think it's illegal since they have been using it a lot for EF sets. eg, the white lightning's gatling guns both use this technique.

no problem on mine. i think before you put the chains on, you have to make sure they are not twisted in any way.

i bought and made the blade titan and the sky guardian over the weekend. first the pros: - i think the color scheme is fantastic though a little cliche. white for the good guys... yeah... the dark colors compliment the white really well. and the yellow accents? perfect. - the cockpit construction looks great. definitely much better than 2006. the cockpit construction is like white lightning's but much bigger. you can have the minifig sitting or standing. roomy enough to moc. - i find the legs much better vs 06. without having to resort to many stickers, they manage to create a great look. very gundamsque. now the cons: - the stickers suck. they should have made them transparent...well most of them anyway. especially those that share the same background as the brick. the stickers for blade titan stuck out like a sore thumb. if you are good with water slide (use for temp "tattoo"), you are much better off scanning the sticker sheet and applying decals yourself. - the large weapons, like sky guardian's sword or the spining blades suck. they look like cheap plastics. by trying to blend two colors in the blade they actually made it look worse. i much rather have a solid one color dark red blade. - the ball joints: double edged as far as i am concern. on the one hand, they facilitate movements and definitely have wider range of movements but on the other, they create scrawny looking robot arms. sky guardian definitely looks like popeye with its fat gigantic forearm. - from the back the mechs look like T figure. i dont know why they didnt use wedge pieces but resorted to 2x6 plates. cutting cost again no doubt. - blade titan's shoulder blades suck. they just kinda hang there on the support of one technic pin each. it's so easy to just use a 1x1 single hole technic brick (or 1x2 double hole brick) and some technic pins to hold it in place. why do they have to resort to shoddy construction. - the sky guardian's jet engines dont look cool. they look like female mammary glands (umm, i dont think i'm allowed to say the more common name so... :-P it's not like i wanted to appear more sophisticated) overall, i think the two large mechs are a disappointment over 2006 sets. with a little bit of moc'ing i can probably improve on the 2006 mechs to have the great color scheme of 2007 sets but without the bad construction of 2007. p.s. the minifigs are cool though. i like the dark blue and the dark green uniforms. the dark green can be made into army commandos and the dark blue, the navy seals.
